The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1497: Arrogant Move

Observing the battle from the sideline, Viora was shocked.

Her lips parted slightly as she watched Rex deal with the situation in awe.

As she thought Rex had done something incredible already, he went ahead and did something even more incredible. Earlier, she was scrutinizing the dancing splash of power that mingled with Rexʼs attack, but now, it became apparent what it was.

Itʼs the power of a Law.

Only the strongest Soul Artifacts could contain the power of a Law.

Additionally, the spirit would only be able to access it once they were at the Master Eternal Spirit rank.

Even the most talented, Davina or the crown prince, awakened theirs when they were at the early stage of the Master Immortal Spirit rank, but Rex—had already awakened his when he was still merely an Immortal Spirit, a major realm faster.

Such a thing was astonishingly impossible.

But apparently, not for Rex.

ʼJust how many more feats was that body of his capable of?ʼ Viora thought inside.

Coming here was the right choice, and she was now more excited than ever for the next couple of days.

Meanwhile, Rex crossed his arms.

His expression was stoic, but inside, he was exhausted.

I think I mightʼve gone overboard. Doing three Inevitable Deaths in a row is still too much for me.

Even with the Neutralizer activated, my life energy is still exhausted.

Rex summoned several White Nightfall Stars and absorbed them, slowly replenishing his exhausted life energy as well as patching the leaking holes across his Spiritual Vein. He already asked the System last night regarding these holes from his imbalanced Spiritual Vein.

It would be a hassle if he experienced a drop in rank from exhaustion during or after a battle.

Fortunately, the System has a solution for that—and it was the Overload Potion.

It costs a hefty amount of gold, 250,000 gold for one that could last at most an hour.

Spending that much is going to sting his wallet.

But he could obtain one for free, the Overload Potion was one of the rewards for this sudden quest.

As long as he protected the heirs properly, heʼd got one for him to save for an important battle.

Of course, that is if he could really protect them.

Rex smiled acutely as he watched the heirs, Hannah and Taylan, in particular, flailing around doing nothing but getting in the way. As Riko was about to slash the cracked part of the serpentʼs skin, Hannah bumped into him as she dodged a tail strike.

On the other side, Taylan tussled with the serpentʼs head with his bare hands.

He was quite strong, able to halt the serpent for a couple of seconds, but he overestimated himself.

As April dashed and was ready to strike, Taylan lost his grip, and the serpent flicked them away hard.

”Your Majesty,” Linthia mumbled in a whisper. ”Iʼve never been as bad as that, have I?”

”If you were among them, youʼd look like the genius of the era,” Rex muttered, scratching the back of his head. He hadnʼt expected them to be this inept at fighting. It was now painfully clear that the heirs had been coddled within the safety of their house, with little to no real battle experience.

”Come on,” Rex stepped forward. ”Letʼs get them organized.”

Rexʼs leg muscles bulged as he charged ahead, slamming his shoulder against the serpentʼs head.

Bam!

He knocked the serpent off course and yanked Taylan out of the way, avoiding a narrow headbutt.

”Donʼt rush in without a plan, thatʼs moronic,” Rex said as the two of them landed a distance away, safe from the serpentʼs range of attack. ”Youʼre strong, your strength is your forte, but you have to get close to utilize it, and that would make you get in the way of the others.”

”Hahaha~” Taylan laughed awkwardly. ”Iʼm sorry,”

”Donʼt apologize, be better.” Rex shook his head slowly. ”Think, where should you be?”

Taylan turned to the serpent once again and really thought for a second.

Just then, his eyes widened, ”I should be at the center of its body, pulling it whenever it tried to attack.”

”Good, thatʼs right. Go, now,” Rex tapped him on his back before he leaped into action again.

On the other hand, Linthia kept her distance from the serpent as it coiled and writhed in a rampage until the opportune moment came when she could snatch Hannah. Pulling her away from the battle, Linthia then threw her back roughly.

”Hey, what was that for? Do you think you could treat me like this?!” Hannah barked furiously.

”Arenʼt you supposed to be a support-type?” Linthia raised a brow, completely ignoring Hannahʼs small and entitled outburst. ”What are you doing near Riko? Keep your distance and use your abilities to help with the fight. Had the serpent been serious from the start, you wouldʼve killed yourself and also Riko,”

Before Hannah could argue, a crisp slap landed across her face.

For a second, she pressed a gloved hand to her cheek—the cold metal of her helmet dulling the very sensation, yet unable to mask her shock. Then, she slowly turned to Linthia as the slap finally registered in her mind.

Enraged, Hannah lunged at Linthia.

But before she could even lay a hand on Linthia, she was slammed to the ground.

Despite the difference in rank with Hannah being stronger, she was still too green to handle Linthia.

”Tell me, did the great elder send you here to train or to argue like a kid?” Linthia asked with composure.

Upon hearing this, Hannah bit her lower lip in shame.

Linthia twisted her arm harder, causing her to writhe in pain as she was forced to answer.

”To train! Iʼm here to train!” Hannah admitted.

Once the answer left her mouth, Linthia stood up, ”Then donʼt argue. Listen. Get strong”

Seeing this from the sidelines, the soldiers winced as Hannah was slammed hard into the ground.

No one had ever dared to do that to her, especially not someone outside the nobility—making the sight of Linthia overpowering her all the more shocking. All of them could even picture being beheaded had it been they the ones to do something like that.

But regardless, all of them knew Princess Hannah needed this.

She needs to be treated like this to actually grow.

Crimoria also smiled wryly behind her helmet, ”I donʼt think she has ever been treated like that before.”

Once Rex and Linthia returned to the fray, the battle instantly became organized.

Now, their assault has a semblance of structure.

Taylan went behind the serpent—and kept on pulling on its body whenever it tried to strike, giving ample time for April and Riko to land their attacks while Hannah used her hair to help Riko and April dodge attacks that were usually impossible for them to dodge.

Now that she was keeping her distance, she could actually contribute to the fight.

Under their barrage of attacks, the cracks on the serpentʼs skin began to spread wider and wider.

It didnʼt take long before its entire body was riddled with cracks.

HISS!!

Eventually, the serpent unleashed a death cry as its skin cracked open, and the attackers could now deal considerable damage to it. A seismic shockwave exploded from its body, cleaving everything it touches and even toppling over countless rock formations in the area.

Rexʼs senses caught this attack before it even happened, and that allowed him to warn the others.

None of them got hit by that shockwave.

Just then, the violent sound of a heartbeat echoed throughout the area.

Rex looked down at the ground underneath his feet, which was shaking hard, and traces of voidal energy—was swimming inside. Such a sight made it clear what was happening, ”It is using its Spirit Genesis, all of you get ready!”

As soon as he said that, another thunderous roar exploded from the serpentʼs mouth.

It was a concussive wave that tore through the air.

Just the sheer force of it alone shattered the rock formations beneath them, crumbling them to pieces, sending cracks racing outward. But it didnʼt stop there. Every two to three seconds, another pulse of devastation followed, expanding further, breaking apart more structures, forcing Rex and the others to retreat again and again.

Then, the serpentʼs voidal energy gathered, coalescing in its gaping mouth.

A sickening hum filled the air, deep and resonant.

Once enough was gathered, the serpent plunged its head into the earth.

A beam of voidal energy tore through the ground.

And then, the world detonated.

Kaboom!!

Not expecting the range to be more than a mile, Rex was hurled skyward, his body twisting and spinning through the explosionʼs wake. He righted himself midair, gritting his teeth as debris rained around him mercilessly.

But he wasnʼt focused on himself—his gaze snapped to the heirs.

Just like him, the heirs were also caught in the blast as well, flung outward, and battered by the rocks.

Rexʼs heart pounded. He couldnʼt afford to lose them.

Not here. Not now.

I canʼt reach them in human form, should I expose myself? No, I still can do this.

Gritting his teeth, Rex restrained his transformation, allowing only his muscles to swell while keeping the rest of his Werewolf traits hidden. A surge of strength pulsed through him—and in the next second, his figure blurred from sight.

Despite being midair, he moved as if he were on the ground.

He used the raining rock as a stepping stone and made his way to safe Taylan and Hannah.

Both of them surely needed saving the most.

However, Taylan and Hannah were separated—Taylan was the nearest, and he was near April.

Rex has no time to think, so he decided to save those two first.

Of course, reaching them was extremely difficult with countless rocks raining down around him, but he was already attuned to his senses. He could sense the next rock that was about to hit him even before it was near, allowing him to continue onward through tight gaps.

As he neared, he quickly willed the golden halo towards April while he dashed to Taylan.

Rex grabbed Taylan and protected him while the golden halo protected Hannah.

Once he landed on the ground, April also landed nearby—while the golden halo acted as an umbrella to protect them from the raining rocks. Each impact from a rock hitting the golden halo was echoing. It was clear that even the Aegis of Moon Sentinel wouldnʼt be able to hold on for long.

”Whereʼs Hannah and Riko?!” Rex shot his eyes towards her.

Before April could answer, three figures crashed and screeched towards them.

Barely managing to reach the golden haloʼs protection.

”Linthia!”

Rex roared when he saw her mangled, bleeding wounds everywhere, and even her right arm was dangling, almost severed from her rotator cuff. He went over to her, knelt down, and lifted up her head. Then, he glanced at Hannah and Riko, finding them more than fine.

It was clear Linthia had protected them and used her own body as a shield.

”What were you thinking?!” Rex asked with rage.

From the Systemʼs scan, he knew Linthiaʼs spirit body was dangerously nearing its limit.

She couldʼve had her spirit body shattered had another rock struck her.

”Itʼs a test… we canʼt afford to have them get hurt,” She put on a weak smile and answered.

”Huh… Itʼs my fault, I should not have acted arrogantly and restrained my power.” Rexʼs face twisted into a dark determination, this wouldnʼt be happening if he werenʼt arrogant enough to hide his third—Soul Artifact when heʼs already hiding his Werewolf form. ”Wait a moment, Iʼll end this,”

Once he said that, Rex straightened his back like an arrow and gazed at the serpent in the distance.

It was still roaring, still raining down rocks without mercy.

Regulating his breaths for a brief moment, Rexʼs crimson eyes then fixed on the serpent as a black mask covered half of his face. Almost instantly, his aura intensified, climbing even higher than it was earlier, surprising the heirs behind him.

”Iʼve about had enough of you.” Rex mused with finality in his tone.
