The Great Thief

March Rain would always lose HP after he casted Polymorph, then stop after one or two seconds.

Lucky Southern Persian took a deep breath and casted damage reduction on himself first to slow down the rate at which his HP bar was dropping. Then, he used his Polymorph on Moonlight, who was attacking him frantically.

Moonlight had activated his Berserk mode and was also dealing physical damage. Half of the damage that Lucky Southern Persian had taken was generated by Moonlight.

He actually wanted to Polymorph Lu Li more since he was chasing down their healer, but he also knew that Lu Li had more dispel skills than an ordinary player and wasn’t an easy target.

He had to cast Polymorph on Moonlight first. At the very least, he would die slower this way.

Each spin of Moonlight’s hefty axe would take out a chunk of Lucky Southern Persian’s health bar.

The Berserker spells in Dawn were very elaborate and blood-boiling. Although their single-target damage wasn’t as high as Mages and Warlocks, their attacks were rapid and precise. Their damage output was definitely top three among all classes.

Lucky Southern Persian’s attempt was successful; Moonlight had been turned into a sheep.

Needless to say, his Polymorph was too strong. The average Mage needed a cast time, but with a simple wave of his hand, his target would be transformed into a sheep. Unless it was a player with a lightning-quick reaction, no one would be able to react to it in time.

However, Lucky Southern Persian soon found that he celebrated the situation too soon.

-30, -30, -30…

Moonlight used his health advantage as a Warrior and refused to cancel the The Myzrael Gem effect. Lucky Southern Persian was at a loss in this situation.

He wasn’t even so concerned when he lost his one-on-one match, but now, he felt like he was about to go crazy.

He switched his target to Lu Li, but then realized that Lu Li had also begun to lose health. His strategy that had been called a ‘bug’ by players had encountered a troublesome situation.

Lucky Southern Persian finally understood the feelings of those players who played against him before.

Bug! This had to be a bug!

To cancel out a Limitless Polymorph with the Myzrael Gem was peculiar to say the least, especially at this stage of the game. When Lu Li had first started playing, these two effects had been remade.

The effect of Limitless Polymorph was no longer like Lucky Southern Persian’s – the duration of the second transformation would be reduced by half, then even less on the third time, until the effect became useless.

On the other hand, Myzrael no longer dropped the Myzrael Gem, which instead became the Myzrael Necklace.

Although this also allowed players to remove the Polymorph effect, this came at the price of an item slot, which meant that players had to choose carefully. In most situations, the majority wouldn’t be willing to change their equipment.

But as of now, nothing has been changed yet in Dawn.

The relationship between Limitless Polymorph and the Myzrael Gem was like the relationship between a spear and a shield. It was understandable that Lucky Southern Persian had been shook.

“Captain, captain!”

A call from afar reached his ears. He realized that he had spaced out and his team members were calling for him to use his damage reduction.

Damage reduction…

There was no need; Lucky Southern Persian sighed from the bottom of his heart. Under the attacks of three damage dealers, he couldn’t endure the situation after he lost his Limitless Polymorph advantage.

At the end of the day, he relied on his advantage too much.

He had given up his weapon advantage for his Limitless Polymorph. The only advantage that his Legendary weapon provided was the Limitless Polymorph. In terms of Attributes, it was no better than a gold equip.

This was also the reason why he had lost to Kitty Likes Meat in the one-on-one match.

Now, he was going to lose the group match too. Polymorph had been the reason for their victory, but also the reason for their defeat.

With someone like Lu LI chasing behind him, Empty never found a chance to heal Lucky Southern Persian. Not even once. He could only watch as Lucky Southern Persian died.

There was nothing left to reverse the tides; Ruling Sword successfully took a victory for themselves.

The match ended, but its impact did not.

Countless people wanted to learn of Ruling Sword’s secret, even the Trade Skill players.

“One of the brothers from our elite group today came crying today, saying that his father was forcing him to share the secret behind it all. Otherwise, he was going to kick him out of the house,” Square Root 3 reported as he shook his head, unable to do much about the situation.

It was best when a whole family joined the same guild.

However, in most situations, everyone played on their own. It wasn’t rare for family members to be in opposing guilds. Of course, threatening to disown someone was definitely an overreaction, but you could see the impact made by the match.

“Just tell them. What is there to hide?” Lu Li said calmly.

“Huh?” Square Root 3 was caught by surprise; the others in the conference were also confused.

The conference today was to sum up everything for the week. People had decided to stay behind after all the important issues had been discussed, but no one expected Lu Li’s response. Was their boss doing okay?

“The quest gives nothing in general, and there’s a lot of competition involved. You can group some people to do the quest, and shortly, everyone will know about it. Trust me, a lot of people will be fighting over the quest later and it will become a battlefield,” Lu Li explained, feeling like he was being quite evil.

“Lucky Southern Persian is going to hate us,” Azure Sea Breeze mumbled.

“Are you silly,” Lu Li asked incredulously. “Do you think Lucky Southern Persian would still use Limitless Polymorph in the future?”

“Ah, even if he lost to us, his tactic is still very strong. The other guilds can’t even handle it,” Azure Sea Breeze said, not quite believing Lu Li.

Moonlight, who had been quiet like a statue the whole time, finally spoke up.

“It might be possible. Based on his personality, he might never use this tactic again.”

This wasn’t just about the pride of a competitor. At the cost of a match, Lucky Southern Persian probably would have realized that a tactic would only grant him some advantage. However, to win in the long run, it was true strength that determined it all.

Limitless Polymorph didn’t help Seventh Heaven win against Ruling Sword. Instead, it had become their weakness.

If Lucky Southern Persian hadn’t used his Legendary staff, he probably wouldn’t have lost to Kitty Likes Meat. If he hadn’t used his Legendary staff, he probably wouldn’t have been baited by March Rain into thinking that they had an advantage.

If it wasn’t for the shocks that occurred in a row, there was no way that he would have spaced out in a match.

Unfortunately, there were no “ifs”.

Now that everyone thought about, they felt he really would give up his Limitless Polymorph tactic.

“Quickly, let everyone know how to do the quest. Once the news gets out of our guild, tell them not to meddle in this business anymore,” Lu Li said as he stood up.

“Isn’t that a bit too mean?” Rain Like a Wanderer asked hesitantly.

“It is,” Azure Sea Breeze laughed, “But I like it!”
