The Great Thief

Chapter 767: Top Analyst

Square Root 3 was certain that the analyst would ask Lu Li what he thought about these two guilds.

Theoretically, Lu Li should favor Peerless City.

Peerless City and Ruling Sword were both allies with Drizzle Court. Although these two guilds had no direct connection with each other, they were on good terms because of Drizzle Court.

For example, if players from Ruling Sword had a dispute with another guild, Peerless City would definitely lend a helping hand, and vice versa.

The two guilds would rarely fight each other for Wild Bosses. Rather, they would kill their competitors first and take down the Boss together. The loot would then be distributed between the two parties.

The two only lacked the formalities to make them official allies.

It was Purple Lunar Paradise who wasn’t on good terms with Ruling Sword. In fact, they were enemies because Purple Lunar Paradise was connected with the Gangnam Royals.

If Lu Li showed his support for Peerless City, he wouldn’t look so good in front of the public.

This was why Square Root 3 had instructed him to bring up Mini Meow, a female player on the beauty ranking. Most players from the game were male, so they would agree with Lu Li’s answer.

However, he didn’t expect that one of the analysts would be Pure White Season.

Pure White Season wasn’t a feminist, but she wasn’t tolerant of playboys. She had publicly criticized a playboy competitor in the past, claiming that there were issues in his private life and personality.

Being criticized by a popular female analyst with an army of fans, the male competitor was harassed for a long time.

Lu Li’s answer seemed to have crossed her slightly.

However, he wasn’t too sure what had happened and dumbly asked, ”Fickle?”

”Hmph, I’m sure Lu Li was just making a joke,” Dark Wind said, jumping out in Lu Li’s defense. He didn’t think there was anything wrong with hi answer. Mini Meow was a cute girl on the beauty rankings and there were plenty players who liked her.

”I think it’s better for a man to stay focused,” Pure White Season stated, not wanting to push further on the topic either.

”But, I still don’t have a girlfriend,” Lu Li sighed, feeling sorry for himself.

He was too busy looking after his sister before to spend time with any girls. Although he now had the time to look for a girlfriend, he understood that if he didn’t continue to improve himself, he would eventually fall behind.

”Aren’t you and Water Fairy dating?” Pure White Season asked.

As soon as the topic was brought up, the audience became excited and presents began to flood through.

People always loved to gossip.

Although this rumour had been around for a long time, it was the first time that it had been addressed in public.

”...” Lu Li was speechless and could only explain himself as best as he could.

”We’re just friend; we’re not what you think. Oh, the match is starting.”

Everyone knew that he was trying to change the topic, but Pure White Season didn’t push further either because the competition was actually starting.

”Our dear audience, the competition has now begun. Both parties have already sent out their strongest players. Peerless City have sent out Vegetarian Mosquito, known as the Solo King of Hunters in Dawn. The player that Purple Lunar Paradise have sent out is the Warlock, Lone Smoker Long. We expect this match to be an exciting one!” Dark Wind announced to the audience.

”Lone Smoker Long and Hornet’s Nest are both top Warlock player, while Vegetarian Mosquito is also a well-known expert. Lu Li, who do you think will win?” Pure White Season probably felt that Lu Li’s feelings towards Water Fairy weren’t stable enough, so she was constantly badgering him.

She was not only classmates in the same university with Water Fairy, but was also very good friends with her.

They often went shopping together in real life and Water Fairy often mentioned his name. As such, Pure White Season guessed that she might be interested in Lu Li .

However, she also took Water Fairy’s family background into consideration, so she wasn’t too sure about it either.

Despite all this, as Water Fairy’s friend, she didn’t like Lu Li’s tone when he had spoken about another girl.

To the audience’s surprise, Lu Li didn’t dodge the question this time and gave a clear answer.

”Lone Smoker Long will win.”

Lu Li was certain that Lone Smoker Long would win! Why?!

Even the players from Peerless City began to feel some animosity towards Lu Li. Why had he jinxed their competitor before the match had even started?

Vegetarian Mosquito was known as the Solo King, not only because his techniques were good, but also because he had a very powerful spider pet.

This spider pet boasted a range of control and poison skills, as well as movement speed skills.

Most of the players at the moment thought that Hunters countered Mages and Warlocks.

”Why do you say this Lu Li? Can you explain your reasoning to everyone?’ Dark Wind felt that Lu Li wasn’t the type to bluff. He was also afraid that Pure White Season would say something targeted at Lu Li, so he asked first.

”Firstly, the spiderweb skill isn’t very useful against ranged classes. Vegetarian Mosquito isn’t a kiting Hunter either and doesn’t have any skills or items to increase his range. As such, it will be hard for him to create distance between him and Lone Smoker Long. Secondly, Warlocks have higher resistances towards poison and darkness, so this doesn’t give him much of an advantage. Finally, I think everyone has underestimated the Warlock class. In terms of one-on-one, Warlocks are almost unbeatable,” Lu Li explained.

Since many players had already figured out how powerful Warlocks were, there was no reason not to be straightforward about it.

As the competition continued and Lu Li commentated, everyone began to notice the strength of Warlocks.

”Does this mean Warlocks will come to dominate the one-on-one meta?” Pure White Season was quick to catch up; she was someone who valued her work morals. She wouldn’t sabotage her job just because of her own personal biases.

”From a certain aspect, yes. However, a competition is a very serious thing, so something like a bunch of clubs suddenly investing in Warlocks won’t happen. There’s no such thing such as the strongest class, only the strongest player. I’m sure players will soon find ways to counter Warlocks,” Lu Li said calmly.

Many agreed with his words and presents were flung at him once again.
