The Golem Mage

Chapter 467 467: The Chronomancer (Finale A).

Alec had come to realize that the anti-magic effect of the Sword Saint was the only thing that had been able to gain an advantage over the Chronomancerʼs time-related spells, as nothing else seemed to work, even his combination of flame and earth element spells, used simultaneously, had proven to be ineffective against the supreme power of the time element.

This made him believe the theory that says only another supreme power could contend against it on equal ground, a supreme power like space, Alec pondered attacking with anti-magic imbued on his blade.

As a smile spread across his face as the flames on the Blood Changdao transformed into a grey hue, a clear indication that it now had the ability to repel and cut through the Chronomancerʼs time spells.

As Alec stretched his left hand towards the Chronomancer, attempting to cast an earth element spell, he realized that it was not activating.

The Chronomancer laughed out loud before explaining,

”I donʼt understand how your summoned being has been able to comprehend the power of anti-magic, it must have come from one of the objects you have used throughout its evolution process, cause clearly, you know nothing about anti-magic, so allow me to enlighten you!”

”Those who use anti-magic are not meant to possess any magic, and even if they do, they should not use any magic spells while controlling their anti-magic, as it would cancel out every other spell, especially the casterʼs own,” the Chronomancer explained, slowly advancing towards Alec.

”Well, it doesnʼt even matter because I donʼt need my elemental powers to defeat you, i will triumph solely with my skills,” Alec confidently declared as he fortified his body with Qi.

Due to wielding the Changdao, which is now infused with anti-magic properties, he found himself unable to cast spells, and the protective flame aura surrounding his body vanished.

So since he couldnʼt enhance his attacks with his elemental affinities, Alec decided to rely on his Qi instead.

As they both clashed once more, a brief moment passed where the Chronomancer looked down at his chest, only to find a long trail of blood.

Though he possessed great strength, Alec was now able to penetrate the thin time mana shield that surrounded him, fear gripped the Chronomancer for the first time as Alec drew blood, Alec turned to face him, an eerie smile on his lips, closing in for another strike.

Having experienced the power of the Changdao shrouded in grey energy, the Chronomancer seemed to have learned his lesson.

He stretched out his hand, conjuring an ethereal blade from the force of the time element, as he understood that relying solely on his Muay Thai martial arts against Alec would not lead to victory, especially now that Alec had the ability to harm him, he felt It was time for him to wield a weapon as well.

Although Alec made the first move, but as the Chronomancer decided to launch his attack, he disappeared.

Activating a large-scale time pause, he affected everyone around him, but he knew that he could only maintain this spell for a limited duration.

But that brief moment was all he needed to gain the upper hand against Alec, as the time pause dissipated, Alec was taken aback to find that the Chronomancer had vanished from his previous position , to mere seconds away from striking him with the deadly time blade—an outcome Alec was determined to avoid at all costs.

”Cheat!” Alec exclaimed in frustration, convinced that the Chronomancer had once again utilized the time pause skill.

He was growing to despise these time element spells.

Reacting swiftly, Alec swiftly rotated the Changdao in a circular motion, successfully deflecting an incoming attack, and without hesitation, he immediately countered with a powerful thrust, after redirecting the Chronomancerʼs weapon.

To Alecʼs surprise, the Chronomancer cast a distortion on his palm, forcibly striking the air just before Alecʼs thrust could reach him.

This slight alteration in the course of the attack caused Alecʼs blade to miss its intended target, seizing the opportunity, Alec released his weapon and launched a punch straight towards the Chronomancerʼs face with incredible speed.

Bang!

The Chronomancer couldnʼt hide his astonishment as his punch completely shattered his mask, causing injury even without the aid of anti-magic.

Alecʼs expression shifted from shock to determination as he finally discovered another way to bypass the thin time shields surrounding the Chronomancer—through gravity manipulation.

By employing a sub-power linked to his earth element, Alec had just executed a strike that harnessed the force of gravity. Fortunately, he found that it had an effect on the Chronomancer.

”You are as good as dead!” the Chronomancer declared angrily, smashing his fist into the air.

Despite the distance that now separated them, Alec felt a sharp pain graze the edge of his face in the next instant.

While he managed to evade a direct hit, the attack had still made its impact.

”Finish him!” Agnesʼs voice echoed from the distance, prompting Alec to tighten his grip on the Blood Changdao with both hands, as the blade pointed skyward, the Chronomancer made his move.

Alec took a step forward, swiftly executing a diagonal downward slash from right to left, the tip of his blade emitted a streak of anti-magic energy, sending it flying towards the Chronomancer.

But before the slash reached its target, the Chronomancer retaliated with a series of slashes, attempting to destroy the attack, he later managed to drain the slash of its powers, after recognizing the advantage of Alecʼs anti-magic ability that cuts through his time attacks he could only drain it out with multiple slashes of his own.

But Alec offered no respite, immediately following up his initial attack with another, this time, he executed a reverse slash, bringing the Blood Changdao back diagonally from left to right.

With both hands gripping the weapon firmly as he unleashed a more powerful grey slash towards the Chronomancer.

Reacting quickly, the Chronomancer enlarged his ethereal sword, using it to counter Alecʼs strike, the clash produced a massive friction, causing small crackles of energy to scatter uncontrollably Alec remained several meters away, surveying the scene before turning his attention to Saint.

Saint, in response to Alecʼs movements, sent forth another bolt of anti-magic mana, which clung to the blade of Alecʼs Changdao.

The flickering grey flames that were on the verge of extinguishing after a few slashes now burned brightly once again.

Amidst the chaos, the Chronomancer had already freed himself from Alecʼs slash, as he conjured two swords this time, dashing towards Alec, his previous ethereal time blade had been destroyed in the last attack, resulting in a deafening explosion that echoed behind him.

Having manipulated time to his advantage, the Chronomancer raced forward, leaving the explosion behind.

Panting heavily due to the excessive use of his mana, meanwhile Alec had not tapped into his own mana reserves for quite some time.

As the Chronomancer approached, Alec swiftly shifted his Changdao into a defensive position near his body.

Anticipating that Alec would defend against his attack, the Chronomancer was caught off guard when Alec executed a sudden front kick with his right leg, targeting his midsection.

The force of the kick pushed the Chronomancer back slightly, prompting Alec to retract his right leg.

Seizing the opportunity, Alec closed the distance by stepping forward with his left leg, as he dropped his Changdao close by, he launched a left jab at the Chronomancerʼs face.

His clenched fist crackled with gravity energy, distorting the air around it as it travelled towards the Chronomancer.
