THE GOD EATER

As he thought of his current situation, he said to himself, ’To think, a few years ago, I used to wonder why the Nexus of Truth Sect was offering rank 6 Dao Status to their Rank 5 cultivators. But here I am prepared to offer Divine Metacs and Divine Positions to them.’

’Is this a step up or a letdown in my circumstances?’ he asked himself in amusement.

Of course, he considered his situation a step up in the right direction. And no matter what the other Dao Lords will say about how shameless he is to give mortals Divine Positions directly, he won’t let their mockery change his mind about it.

So far, the ability to establish a sect and manage it however he wanted wasn’t the only thing that improved recently. His lifespan had also increased.

His lifespan had increased from 10.485 billion years to 13.123 billion years. The increase was so significant despite the amount he had spent on recruiting mortals, and it was all because he spent more time devouring mortals in the Central Domain before he ascended.

He hadn’t bothered with Golden Sun when he advanced earlier because the stubborn fool would commit suicide and waste his time.

He also wanted to stockpile a lot of lifespan so that he would have enough start-up capital to recruit mortals before his investments started bearing returns.

’13.123 billion seems plenty to a Dao Lord, and it is. However, it is not enough to buy a sect.’

’Even if I spend lifespan to recruit humans alone. I can only recruit 131.2 million humans. It is not enough to entrench myself in any world.’

’So, compared to the other Dao Lords who have established sects in many worlds, I am dirt poor. Unfortunately, they don’t know how to extract the greatest value from their sects ’ he thought with a smirk.

The Four Directions Sect in the Blessed Heaven World alone should have more than a hundred billion mortal disciples. Most of them are humans with a lifespan of a hundred years, so if half of their lifespan were to be harvested over time, Black Chain would be able to extract 5 trillion years of lifespan.

If Black Chain were to decide to uproot all of them and extract their lifespan completely, he would get 10 trillion years out of them. So when compared to Loki’s 13.123 billion years of lifespan, Loki really is a pauper.

Unfortunately, Black Chain couldn’t extract any of the lifespan, and it brought a smile to Loki’s face when he thought about it.

’I know he will sell out soon and submit to a Gemini, but even then, he won’t be able to extract any lifespan from his mortal disciples unless he wants to give up control of his pathway to the Gemini, so I will keep laughing at him.’

’He is such a loser and will go obsolete soon. He should be more like me and learn how to extract lifespan from his mortal disciples. Oh wait, he can’t,’ he thought as he burst out laughing.

”Ahahahaha, what a loser.”

He could laugh about this, but not everything about his current situation was amusing enough to warrant a laugh. Especially the matter of his Entropy.

Since he was forced to have a child, costing him over a million units of Entropy, he has taken on more Entropy. It is an extra 4,070,472 units of Entropy, to be exact. He gained all of this Entropy from the beating that the four Wills gave to him.

However, he couldn’t be sad about it for long because his Entropy capacity increased, and now the 5,128,745 units of Entropy he carries are only 0.352% of his total capacity.

His total capacity for Entropy used to be Rank(10) * Total Divinity(37 + 459) * Total Volume of Supreme Metacs(9^3 + 17^3) * Authority(10), which is 279,843,200. This was from the last timeline, when he had only 17 cubes activated in the spark of power and wasn’t a Mountain Lord.

But times have changed since then. He is now a Mountain Lord, which has increased his Authority from 10 to 20, and 21 cubes have been activated in the 4-D prototype, with 693 units of divinity available for use.

So his total capacity for Entropy is now Rank(10) * Total Divinity(37 + 693) * Total Volume of Supreme Metacs(9^3 + 21^3) * Authority(20), which is 1,458,540,000 units.

Plus, as a member of a Divine Court with active members, he can now offload his Entropy at a rate of 20 units per second. So there really wasn’t much to be sad about concerning his Entropy.

However, when he remembered how he had only gained the boost of 10 units to his Authority after the first Dao Lord joined his Divine Court, he became a little bit solemn.

’It seems the essence of being a Mountain Lord is standing above other Dao Lords. A Mountain Lord with no one in their Divine Court will only be a Mountain Lord in name.’

’At least, now that I know that Dao Lords need to join large Divine Courts to raise their rank, I won’t need to work hard to recruit more Dao Lords into the Divine Court and keep it functional.’

Even without the incentive of raising their ranks, there were other benefits such as the removal of Entropy, the increase in their capacity of Entropy, and the boost to their Authority. But in his opinion, having one more perk was a welcome addition and would help his Divine Court get bigger.

It is especially welcome since one of the perks of a Dao Lord is being able to use the total Domain Power of the Divine Mountain. Therefore, the bigger the Divine Court, the more powerful he would be as a Mountain Lord.

’It will be all good as long as I continue to have the highest contribution in the Divine Court. But once I am usurped by someone else, I will be screwed,’ he thought with slight worry.
