THE GOD EATER

The case of the people of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect and what they were able to achieve by working together is an example of what could be achieved by cooperating and concentrating their power.

But on the other hand, working separately will prevent them from being wiped out when they meet an especially tricky enemy. The case of the three rank 5 cultivators who fought the money cultivator with the Life’s Worth Life Ability and were all killed is a classic example of this.

So it was difficult to determine who was right and who was wrong. But it was easy for Loki to decide what to say because he didn’t care about who was right and who was wrong.

The only thing he cared about was his plan for this Heavenly Battlefield, so his answer should be something that aligns with his plan.

So he said, “I think we should work separately. That way, it will be difficult for our enemies to kill us in one fell swoop.”

The mind hunter was satisfied with his reply, so he said to Loki with a smile on his face, “Good choice. It is decided then. To everyone their way and to everyone their methods.”

Unsurprisingly, the enslavement cultivator didn’t like what he said. She sneered at him and said, “Are you coveting the title too?”

Then she pointed at the mind hunter as she said, “It is one thing for him to covet the title, and he has a good shot at it. But you? You would be dreaming to think that you could win that title.”

She continued to berate him by saying, “Aren’t you a forge cultivator? I heard that a forge cultivator was smashed to pieces in the last Heavenly Battlefield with their own hammer. I hope that you don’t turn out like that.”

The mind hunter came to his rescue by smiling and saying, “I doubt that will happen to him. After all, his Life Ability is the Armored Shell.”

“With this kind of Life Ability, he will be very difficult to kill. Even if someone copies his Life Ability, they still won’t be able to kill him with it since the Life Ability has a weak attack power.”

He seemed to be speaking up for Loki, but he was actually insulting Loki in another way. So they were both using the information he had provided when he signed up against him.

Loki thought about how easy it would be for him to eat the two of them. But he held back from devouring them in one bite.

Instead, he smiled at them and didn’t say anything. No matter what they said, he didn’t react at all.

The mind hunter had stopped making jest of him after his comment about how the Armored Shell Life Ability had a weak attacking potential. But the enslavement cultivator had a lot more to say about how a weak person like him should work together with someone stronger.

When she saw that nothing she could say could elicit a response from him, she huffed in disdain before saying, “It seems your skin is thick enough. I hope it will remain this thick when you fail to win the title.”

Only after saying this did she decide to ignore him. Since the three of them didn’t have anything more to say, they decided to end their meeting and go their separate ways.

Loki and the mind hunter kept to themselves. They became silent, but the enslavement cultivator turned to the rank 4 cultivators and began to address them.

She said, “We have decided to go with the usual plan. If you see a manifestation of one of us, you should make your way to us, and we will protect you.”

She continued to say things that they never talked about or decided. But neither Loki nor the mind hunter refuted her.

The two of them knew what she was doing, but they weren’t interested in speaking up against her since they had decided to act separately.

In fact, the mind hunter thought that what she was doing was pitiful and laughable. So he sneered at her while she spoke.

As for Loki, he looked on in silence while thinking to himself, saying, ’This must be her plan to create an army. Since she can’t make us work together with her, she is going for second best by making the rank 4 cultivators work with her.’

’Now that I think about it, isn’t this the same thing that happened in my previous Heavenly Battlefield? The three rank 5 cultivators had a meeting, then one of them spoke up, saying that everyone should congregate around the manifestations of their Life Abilities.’

’Could it be that both the death cultivator and the money cultivator wanted to win the title of most useful soldier, just like the mind cultivator and the enslavement cultivator? Then the money cultivator failed to make everyone follow her, so she decided to create an army with the rank 4 cultivators.’

This thought made him chuckle and say, ’If that is so, then will the enslavement cultivator die just like the money cultivator, while the mind hunter wins the title just like the death cultivator?`

’And what about the forger cultivator among them? What did she want to achieve? What was she aiming for when she signed up for the Heavenly Battlefield?’

He knew why he was laid back among the three of them, but he couldn’t understand why the rank 5 forger in the previous Heavenly Battlefield had been laid back too.

After thinking about it for a while, he shrugged and said, ’Her goal shouldn’t matter anymore now. After all, she is dead. Whatever she was planning has died with her.’

’But it seems we did have a lot in common. We are both forgers and have mutated Life Abilities, but have kept our mutated Life Abilities a secret.’

Then he chuckled and said, ’Since she gave us forgers a bad name by dying to her Life Ability, it must be up to me to make us forgers look better.’
