THE GOD EATER

With the conversation of the three rank 5 cultivators not goin well, any rank 4 cultivator who irritates them at this point would be in a lot of trouble.

The three of them were talking to each other silently, using their Mental World to send mental information to each other. The one who initiated the conversation was the enslavement cultivator.

The enslavement cultivator was the only woman among the three of them. She started the conversation by saying, “I want to receive the title of most useful soldier. That means I want us to win. It also means that you two must perform well in battle.”

The other rank 5 cultivator, the mind hunter, sneered and said, “You don’t have to tell us to perform well before we decide to perform well. You’re not our leader. You’re just another commander like us.”

She immediately retorted by saying, “I may not be your leader, but I am clearly the best among the three of us. My strength thus qualifies me to lead us. If we work together and combine our power under my guardian eye, winning this Heavenly Battlefield is more than assured.”

This time, the mind hunter chuckled in disdain before saying, “How delusional! I didn’t think anyone could be full of themselves to this extent.”

“How did you come to the conclusion that you’re better than everyone else? Just because you carry a lot of bugs in your body? I’ll tell you now that whoever told you that has lied to you. They told you a cruel, unkind lie.”

He pointed at her and said, “Quantity is most often inferior to quality.”

When he said quality, he pointed at himself. This way, he was able to make his point very clear.

The enslavement cultivator didn’t deny the claims that she was delusional. Instead, she asked, saying, “If I am not the best, who is?”

After speaking, she examined the mind hunter from head to toe before saying, “Are you supposed to be the best? I don’t think so.”

In response, the mind hunter snorted and said, “I can’t be bothered to argue with you. You’re just too stupid to understand. Bugs have eaten your brain and lowered your intelligence too much.”

The enslavement cultivator didn’t like this statement at all. She immediately fired a retort, which was met with a quick rebuff. The two of them sniped at each other again and again while Loki watched silently.

He was examining their physical appearance as well as their Life Ability. From what he could see, the mind hunter might be right.

The enslavement cultivator is a fairly tall woman with a generous amount of secondary female characteristics. But she couldn’t be considered beautiful because her skin, from head to toe, is riddled with holes.

The holes in her skin were created by her Life Ability, which is called Insect Hive. It is why wasps can be seen moving in and out of her body through the holes in her skin.

So it can be said that her Life Ability has transformed her into a living insect hive. Aside from making her ugly, it has also turned her into a one-man army.

As he looked at her, he thought to himself, saying, ’No one can tell how many insects she has in that body of hers. She can have up to a million if she is rich.”

“She can even have up to 100 rank 5 insects within her like that. No wonder she believes that she can win the title of the most useful soldier.”

Then he glanced at the mind hunter and examined him too.

The mind hunter is a man with blue hair and blue eyes. These two features make him a handsome man, but these two features are also manifestations of his Life Ability.

From what he could see, the Life Ability of the mind hunter is the Psychic Flame Life Ability. This is a Life Ability that can create an inextinguishable flame in the mind of the target.

The Psychic Flame will burn thoughts and memories, and will grow stronger the more emotional the target becomes. And even if the target is stronger than the mind hunter, the psychic flame will still stick to their minds, slowly torturing them.

The only way to put out the mental flame is to cut off every thought on the surface of the mind or kill the creator of the flame. Since the flame can attack many individuals at the same time and enslavers need the mind to control their slaves, Loki believed that the mind hunter was at an advantage against the enslavement cultivator.

But he didn’t tell the two of them his conclusion. He only watched them argue until they grew tired of arguing and decided to drag him into the matter.

The enslavement cultivator turned to him and said, “What do you think? Isn’t it a good idea that we combine our strength under one command instead of scattering? Don’t you think I am right to assume leadership of that command?”

The mind hunter also turned to look at him and said, “I believe that it is a better idea for us to work separately. I think the only reason she wants us to work together is so that she can limit our contributions and do the bulk of the work so that she can win that title.”

“Don’t be fooled by her. If she is as strong as she claims, she should be able to do well on her own.”

The two of them stared at him, waiting for his opinion to break their ties.

Loki considered the question for a bit before replying. In his opinion, he thought that there was no bad idea between the options of combining and working together or scattering and working separately. He thought that both options had their merits.

In the case of working together, obviously, combining their strength will increase their power and make it easy to defeat everyone that they encounter.
