Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 97: Chapter 85: Encounter with Players Again

Hill quietly felt the gentle North Wind, feeling quite content.

He was pondering where to disembark when he suddenly heard someone calling his name.

Hill stopped the boat, leaned over the rail to look down, and finally saw a few players on a small hill, waving and shouting at him.

Seeing the boat stop, a few people were jumping and waving, shouting loudly, ”Mr. Hill, is that you? Please, save us!”

Hill lowered the boat, and Black Rose’s Nie Xingchen and Sui Chen almost tearfully leapt onto the boat: ”Mr. Hill! Do you have any food?”

Hill summoned Srei, instructing him to set a table with food at the bow. The other players who jumped aboard lay scattered on the deck, motionless and moaning.

”Do you need Health Potions?” Hill asked quietly.

”Mr. Hill, you could open a shop, right? We’ll buy! We need a lot!” Sui Chen said firmly, sitting by the table, his eyes gleaming as he watched the puppet set the food.

Hill asked in confusion, ”Don’t you not need to eat?”

”Food can replenish stamina,” Nie Xingchen said, wolfing down his food.

Well then, stamina, another keyword common in virtual games, Hill understood immediately.

Using eating and sleeping to recover from fatigue was normal, after all, their sensations had been turned down, and their bodies might not feel extreme exhaustion.

The other players also got up and scrambled to the table to eat.

Hill quickly instructed Srei to bring the Juice first, truly it looked like they were choking.

The Old Age Striking King ate silently, glaring continuously at An Idler quietly squatting beside her.

Hill looked around: Black Rose’s Nie Xingchen, Sui Chen, Old Age Striking King, An Idler, Rain Falling on Mortal Dust, and then the young master of Wenjian with two others, Black and White Path also had two.

He thought for a moment, then had the carpet they were sitting on levitated, transforming the boat into a shop.

The ten people did not even look up at Hill, letting him manage as he wished.

Hill shook his head and floated the few people into the shop, placed them in the middle and let them do whatever they wanted.

He held his fruit tea and sat by the window to wait.

Rain Falling on Mortal Dust was the first to finish eating, then went to buy things. Seeing him go, the young master quickly reacted and followed.

Two from Black and White Path looked at them and hesitated for a moment, but continued eating.

It seemed they had truly suffered a lot.

Sui Chen quickly replenished his potions, handing two Mana Potions to Rain Falling on Mortal Dust and Old Age Striking King, who painfully slapped the table but still raised the potions and drank.

He then handed them to four people from Wenjian and Black and White Path, who also drank with bitter expressions.

The young master quietly and obediently sat down, distributing a dozen Mana Potions to each of the six people.

The Old Age Striking King said ruthlessly, ”If you weren’t the guild leader of the Alliance, and Baldy hadn’t said not to go too far, I would definitely cripple you.”

The two Wenjian mages completely ignored their guild leader being scolded, one of them continued collecting potions while saying, ”This is only because it’s outside, otherwise we would have finished him long ago.

Dying now would be letting him off easy, right? Giving him a free ride back?

Dream on!”

Rain Falling on Mortal Dust said, ”Mr. Hill is still watching, and now that our stamina is replenished, let’s not eat for now.”

Hill smiled and arranged the window seats into a half-circle that could fit more than ten people, waiting for them to resolve the confusion.

”It’s been a long time, Mr. Hill,” said Rain Falling on Mortal Dust.

Hill had seen him during his last visit to Black Rose City, ”Not many days ago, Mr. Rain Falling on Mortal Dust.”

”It feels like a year,” he said forlornly as he collapsed on the sofa: ”After talking with you last time, Black and White Path and Wenjian both thought about building a small domain here.

They didn’t know how they ended up at Edward’s place, taking on a lot of errands and buying tasks.

Many idle Mages like us joined in.

The young master, for some reason, insisted on visiting Edward’s place.

Everyone in Youth Journey of the Wenjian World was busy with domain tasks and paid him no attention. Sometime later, An Idler joined him.”

An Idler interjected, ”Don’t make it sound so bad!”

The Old Age Striking King kicked him directly.

Rain Falling on Mortal Dust continued, ignoring him: ”An Idler, along with Nie Xingchen, the Old Age Striking King who has always been playing with him, and the ever-idle Sui Chen with an Alchemy Carriage, formed a small team and left.”

He said gloomily, ”I really was idle. Every day I had to come here to take on tasks!

They got so lost nearby they almost went mad, just screaming for help.

The rest of us who came here daily to take tasks had to constantly find them and give them directions!”

The two Wenjian Mages glared miserably at their own guild leader.

The young master sat with his legs crossed and shrunk further into the sofa.

”Yesterday morning, they got lost again!

Initially, it wasn’t me who came; the young master first called for help from his own people. Unexpectedly, they ended up in an underground tunnel, and both he and his companion fell in.

The two from Black and White Path, following those from Wenjian on a quest, also went in with them.

So they called me!

It was a natural labyrinth, and you can’t fly in there! Plus, there were many Magical Beasts!” Rain Falling on Mortal Dust grew increasingly agitated: ”I came to do tasks, how could I carry much medicine or food?

My bag was empty, just waiting to help Edward’s people carry stuff!

Out of ammo and out of rations!

And we had to keep fighting, drinking Mana Potions until we vomited!” Rain Falling on Mortal Dust painfully continued: ”And these guys only had Intermediate-level potions with them!”
