Supreme Devouring God

Qin Chen cast his gaze towards the grand and imposing Jingyue Palace, feeling no discomfort whatsoever.

Though he was just a disciple from the Saber Saint Cliff, even in terms of status, the Jingyue Emperor was beneath him.

”So young?”

Someone was slightly surprised.

”Don’t judge by appearances, they might already be forty or fifty years old,” someone next to him said.

”The Jingyue Dynasty welcomes the two Saints from the Saber Saint Cliff.”

As the voice of the Jingyue Emperor fell, the civil and military officials standing beside the golden carpet all prostrated themselves on the ground with utmost respect.

Even the Jingyue Emperor and the Jingyue Empress Dowager slightly bowed in greeting.

”No need for such formalities, everyone.”

Qin Chen waved his hand indifferently and walked with Lin Songyun towards the Jingyue Emperor.

They were dressed in the attire of disciples from the Saber Saint Cliff, an attractive man and woman, which caused many eyes to flicker with astonishment at the scene.

In their eyes, Qin Chen and Lin Songyun were like Divine Son and Goddess from the Nine Heavens.

Especially the princesses present.

Seeing Qin Chen, they felt he was like the god of their dreams.

But as their gazes shifted to Lin Songyun, they each felt a trace of inferiority.

As princesses, they naturally possessed extraordinary beauty, but compared to Lin Songyun, they hardly measured up.

”Please take your seats, two Saints.”

The Jingyue Emperor, without any regard for his position as the sovereign, guided Qin Chen to his seat.

In fact, Qin Chen really disliked these cumbersome protocols.

But seeing the seriousness of the other party, Qin Chen couldn’t say much more. He nodded and sat with Lin Songyun at the highest position in the hall.

”They look younger than me, why can they sit above Father and the Empress Dowager?”

This scene was seen by Qee Ting, and his internal discomfort deepened.

”Second Prince, you can’t say such things rashly. If those two were to hear, the consequences would be unimaginable.”

The minister next to Qee Ting heard and was so frightened that his face turned pale, hurriedly advising him.

The Jingyue Emperor respectfully addressed Qin Chen and Lin Songyun, ”On behalf of the Jingyue Dynasty, I welcome you both for coming to aid us.”

”Today, I’ve set up a banquet here, hoping the two of you find it pleasing.”

Qin Chen smiled bitterly, ”There is no need for such ceremony.”

If it were a person with a high opinion of themselves, their tail would have surely been wagging up to the sky by now.

But not Qin Chen.

He was never one to flaunt his abilities.

The Jingyue Emperor stood up, facing the civil and military officials, ”Everyone rise and join me in toasting to the two Saints of the Saber Saint Cliff.”

All the civil and military officials stood up with respect and deference.

Holding wine cups in their hands.

Qin Chen felt somewhat helpless; he didn’t know if this was a customary ritual within the Jingyue Dynasty or what, but he genuinely felt it was a waste of time.

However, Qin Chen didn’t want to say much more, out of respect, and, together with Lin Songyun, picked up the wine cup before them.

But, throughout the venue, there was one exception.

That was Qee Ting.

He let out a cold snort, murmuring, ”Why should I toast to him? There’s a chance their strength isn’t even greater than mine.”

He just felt unconvinced.

Because he believed Qin Chen and Lin Songyun were far too youthful.

And among the younger generation of the Jingyue Dynasty, he was outstanding, so naturally, he harbored a sense of doubt.

The entire crowd raised their wine cups.

Only Qee Ting did not.

Thus, he stood out conspicuously.

Qin Chen inadvertently glanced in his direction, then withdrew his gaze without saying anything.

He was not inclined to bicker with a young man over this.

After all, the other was insignificant to him.

Yet the Jingyue Emperor noticed this scene, especially Qin Chen’s glance, which made his expression change.

He immediately said in a clear voice, ”Ting’er, raise your wine cup and toast the two Saints.”

He didn’t dare to smooth over the matter, fearing that Qin Chen and Lin Songyun might take issue, so he pointed out Qee Ting directly on the spot.

Originally, not many people noticed Qee Ting.

After all, at that moment, everybody’s attention was on Qin Chen and Lin Songyun.

But once the Jingyue Emperor’s words sounded.

In an instant, countless eyes all shifted onto Qee Ting.

Qee Ting, already feeling unconvinced, was now publicly named by the Jingyue Emperor, which made him even more displeased, even somewhat angry.

He immediately looked towards Qin Chen and Lin Songyun, ”Two Saints, my name is Qee Ting, the second prince of the Jingyue Dynasty, representing the strength of the younger generation in the Jingyue Dynasty.”

”I know I might be a bit rude right now, but I really want to witness the strength of the two Saints.”

”I hope the two Saints will oblige.”

As these words fell.

The faces of all the civil and military officials drastically changed.

Regardless of Qin Chen and Lin Songyun’s strength, Qee Ting daring to question them openly was naturally a very offensive gesture.

But many hot-blooded youths thought Qee Ting was exceedingly cool at that moment.

They all hoped Qee Ting could spar with one of Qin Chen and Lin Songyun.

Firstly, to see the strength of the legendary disciples from the Saber Saint Cliff.

Secondly, because Qin Chen and Lin Songyun were outsiders.

They fervently wished to see Qee Ting knock Qin Chen and Lin Songyun down.

Qee Ting’s words weren’t wrong.

He indeed represented the highest young talent of the Jingyue Dynasty.

The faces of the Jingyue Emperor and the Jingyue Empress Dowager filled with rage.

The Jingyue Emperor immediately reprimanded Qee Ting, ”Ting’er! How dare you be so rude! Are the Saints of the Saber Saint Cliff individuals you can challenge at will? Apologize to the Saints now!”

His tone was extremely severe.

Qee Ting, hearing this, laughed in extreme anger.

Why should he apologize to Qin Chen and Lin Songyun?

”Apologizing isn’t impossible, but I, Qee Ting, only apologize to those more talented than myself.”

He was always spoiled in the Jingyue Dynasty.

Even the Jingyue Emperor usually indulged him, owing to his indeed outstanding talent.

Thus, at that moment, facing the Jingyue Emperor’s reprimand, he still couldn’t calm his emotions.

Instead, his inner feelings were even more inflamed.

Qin Chen and Lin Songyun had remained silent throughout.

In their world, Qee Ting wasn’t worthy of their attention.

Perhaps Qee Ting was indeed excellent in the Jingyue Dynasty.

But with his Ninth Layer of Tongtian Realm cultivation, he probably couldn’t even gain entry to the Saber Saint Cliff.

Let alone challenge Qin Chen and Lin Songyun.

The Jingyue Emperor’s face turned grim, ”Do my words no longer hold any weight? I asked you to apologize to the Saints!”

He stared with eyes filled with fury in his tone.

Qee Ting’s emotions grew more intense, he looked at Qin Chen and Lin Songyun, ”Qee Ting, second prince of the Jingyue Dynasty, cultivation at the Ninth Layer of Tongtian Realm, humbly requests the guidance of the two Saints from the Saber Saint Cliff!”

”If I lose, I will certainly kneel and apologize to the two.”

”If I win, I hope the two Saints will willingly leave the Jingyue Dynasty!”
