Super Electric Eel Avatar

142 To Miami In The United States
”That was during ancient times. How can there still be pirates now?” Yun Meng pouted.

”Have you not been studying?” Chen Fan raised his eyebrows before stroking the back of Yun Meng’s head with his left hand. ”Haven’t you heard of the notorious Somali pirates?”

”No.” Yun Meng’s cheeks flushed suddenly. Although she had had close bodily contact with Chen Fan, it was only an accident and could not represent her normal state of mind.

”You gotta watch more TV. Don’t just wallow in your studies, or else you’ll turn into a nerd!” Chen Fan laughed.

After lunch, Chen Fan burped as he got Yun Meng to clear off the table and watch TV after that, instead of wallowing in her books, while he took the car out.

No matter how beautiful a city was, there was always illegal advertisements and vandalism. Although the government had been increasingly attacking this area in the last few years, there are still countless such advertisements sprouting up everywhere.

Not long after he came out, Chen Fan found no less than 10 advertisements that handled various documentation on a standing telephone pole. Chen Fan dialed one of the contact details, and a coquettish voice swept across Chen Fan’s brain.

”Boss, what type of documents would you like to make?”

”The ID type, about 20 of them.” Chen Fan touched his nose and said, ”You don’t sound like a local? Let me state this up front, don’t ask me to send money to some account and then throw the stuff at some location, I’m not gonna do that!”

”Boss, don’t worry, we’re not cheats.” The woman protested in a coquettish voice that could cause a physiological reaction in men. ”We in this trade have to be cautious these days, otherwise we’ll be easily caught by the police!”

”And that means you are, too.”

Ten seconds later, Chen Fan simply hung up the phone. The other party had already used silence to tell him the answer. Chen Fan continued to call a few more numbers, and the requests from the other parties were all similar. According to the fraud cases on the internet, all of them were definitely cheaters.

After running around the whole day and almost giving up, Chen Fan finally encountered an unconventional delivery method. The other party actually provided a string of QQ account numbers and got Chen Fan to add the QQ contact. Wanting to give it a try, Chen Fan went to an internet cafe, on a computer and added that QQ account.

What took Chen Fan by surprise was that the other party initiated a video chat to let Chen Fan see the various tools for making the fake documents before asking Chen Fan to pay a portion of the deposit using Alipay. He could pay the final amount after they complete the documents and let him verify through video chat.

When Chen Fan said that he wanted to make 20 in one go, the other party readily asked him to send over the photos and ID information through the internet, and also said that they would make two for Chen Fan to take a look at first before taking the deposit. After sending a message saying that he was going to take the photos, Chen Fan switched off his QQ.

Half an hour later, Chen Fan returned to the internet cafe and downloaded Photoshop software. Using the photos that just came out from the photo studio, Chen Fan started displaying his better than average Photoshop skills and began editing the faces of the people.

There were 20 photos, and each took an average of two minutes. After over 40 minutes, Chen Fan shook his aching hands and then sent the photos to the other party.

As for the place of birth, name, and date of birth, other than specifying that he wanted a ”Chen Xiaohu”, Chen Fan let the other party decide the remaining 19, as long as it wasn’t Zhongyun.

The other party said that they needed one hour to complete. Chen Fan had nothing to do and someone in the internet café shouted, ”Who’s game for World of Warcraft, we’re short of one player.”

”Me!” Chen Fan replied and double-clicked on the World of Warcraft icon.

After the game ended, the other party popped up a video chat. Unable to discern the authenticity of the two IDs in the video chat, Chen Fan straightaway transferred 6,000 RMB over through internet banking.

After settling the fake IDs, next would be how to get to the Virgin Islands. Chen Fan had two choices. One was to get an American visa done at a visa agency, take a plane to Miami, and then take another plane to the Virgin Islands. The other was to ride there on the electric eel, the world’s most low-tech, but also most amazing smuggling ”vessel.”

Taking the sea route, the Virgin Islands is 11,000 nautical miles away. With the electric eel’s current speed, it would need 90 hours to reach. Adding in the time needed for eating and sleeping, it would take at least five days to arrive.

Lying inside a closed container for five days. Chen Fan thought for a while before deciding to take a plane to the United States, and then stow away to the Virgin Islands from Miami. That way, even if anyone wanted to check on his records, he wouldn’t be able to track that he went to the Virgin Islands. After all, there was no obvious connection between Miami and the Virgin Islands.

After I come back, I have to get a luxurious ”submarine” and decorate the interior like a palace. It is definitely the best choice be it for running away or smuggling. Chen Fan couldn’t help but shake his head when he thought of the previous huge metal container ship. Not only was it hot and stuffy, there wasn’t any entertainment facilities. One would definitely die from boredom inside.

At 9 a.m. the next morning, Chen Fan had successfully gotten from the designated place 20 ID cards, which normal people weren’t able to recognize without the use of an ID card reader. An offshore company was set up for each of the 20 ID cards. After transferring 24 million RMB to each of them, the money was all eventually transferred to the account of the one named Chen Xiaohu.

As a coastal city, Zhongyun had a few offshore company registration companies. When Chen Fan wore a cap and sunglasses and brought the 20 ID cards to register 20 offshore companies, the other party got a big shock. It was not uncommon for one to use a fake ID for registration. In fact, no one would bring a real ID there to register this type of company. But using 20 IDs in one go...

It was very simple to register this type of offshore company. After filling in a simple application and paying a registration fee of 30,000 RMB, the government of the Virgin Islands could get it approve the next day.

The other 19 companies were given random names. As for Chen Xiaohu, Chen Fan registered an international business company named ”Cruiser” which didn’t even have an office. Chen Fan decided to keep this company as his phantom company for future uses, be it for hostile takeovers or money-laundering.

The next day, Chen Fan’s visa to the United States was successfully done, and so were the few sock puppet accounts. The account information and internet banking keys had also been sent through email. The official written documents would probably have to wait until Chen Fan came back.

The flight was at 6 p.m. to Beijing International Airport for a transfer flight and then straight to Miami in the United States. Chen Fan was empty-handed. After leaving behind 1,000 RMB and a note, he got Wang Bing to take him to the airport.

”Boss, are you going to the States to enjoy?” In the departure hall, Wang Bing looked innocently and surprised at Chen Fan as he twirled the car keys. He also wanted to go overseas to look at Caucasian girls, but Chen Fan refused to take him.

”Yesterday, Obama invited me to attend his daughter’s wedding, how can I turn it down?” Chen Fan lifted the corners of his mouth. ”It’s all on international politics, what does a little soldier like you want to participate for?”

”Boss, I think his daughter just started middle school.”

”Then it’s his illegitimate daughter.”

Chen Fan saw that it was almost time and started walking toward the security check. ”Don’t go anywhere these few days. I’m a little worried that Yun Meng is alone at home. Fetch her to and from school, but if you dare to step into the villa…”

”Heh heh…” Chen Fan gestured a cutting action on Wang Bing’s neck.

Having taken the plane once to Myanmar with Chen Shuguang previously, Chen Fan did not feel much novelty toward the huge metal object. After finding his seat number, Chen Fan shifted his thoughts onto the electric eel and controlled it to continue swimming toward Miami with the USD.

Two and a half days before, Chen Fan had already gotten the electric eel to set off earlier. It had already passed Russia and was now at the sea area near Greenland. The eel would reach the United States around the next day after Chen Fan arrived.

”Hey? Why are you here?” Holding a white suitcase, Wu Ruoyu’s pretty eyes were filled with disbelief. This guy actually took the same plane as her and was on the same row of seats.

Wu Ruoyu’s exclamation was so abrupt that even the two young men dressed in extravagant clothing and messy curly long hair in the seats in front turned to look at her. After that, their heads couldn’t turn back anymore, and their Adam’s apples moved up and down like they were swallowing their saliva.

Chen Fan opened his eyes and rubbed them immediately. Both of them had a look of surprise on their faces.

”I’m making a trip overseas.” With his arms folded, Chen Fan looked up and down at this tall, blonde, mixed-blood girl in a pale flowery dress.

”Move aside. The seat inside is mine!” After placing her luggage, Wu Ruoyu pouted and said angrily.

”Haa...haa....” Chen Fan covered his mouth with his hand and let out a laugh before turning to look outside the window, pretending not to hear anything.

”You...” Seeing Chen Fan turn his gaze away, Wu Ruoyu immediately pulled a straight face. She was being kind helping him upstairs that night and didn’t expect to end up in that state, and now he was still showing her attitude? The thought of the embarrassing and awkward incident that night made Wu Ruoyu’s face show a faint bashful anger, and she couldn’t help but give him a fierce stare.

”Little babe, he doesn’t wanna let you in, we’ll let you. Come sit on my lap?” Looking as if he felt good about himself, one of the young men in the front row flipped his hair, showing an extremely lewd expression on his face.

”Pah!” Chen Fan stood up and gave him a slap on the head.

”You’re courting death!” The young man who got slapped in the head paused and looked at Chen Fan with his eyes red, looking like he wanted to take him on one to one.

”You better shut up before I throw you off the plane!” Chen Fan stared back as he moved his body to the side to let Wu Ruoyu in from the side of the seat. As a man, it would be too much if he did not stand up for his friend when she got verbally harassed?

”Forget it, let it go.” The young man at his side tugged at his companion’s arm.

”Dear passengers, our flight is departing soon, please fasten your seatbelts.”

After the plane soared into the clouds and flew smoothly, Wu Ruoyu placed her hands on her twisting stomach, bit her delicate lips, and opened her mouth a few times before saying, ”Where are you going?”

”America.” Chen Fan said in Chinese Pidgin English without opening his eyes.

”You’re going to the States, too?” Wu Ruoyu was surprised. ”Which part of the States are you going to?”

How do you say Miami in English? Chen Fan mumbled in his heart. He couldn’t recall after thinking for a few seconds, so could only reply in Mandarin. ”To Miami!”

”Uh…” The expression on Wu Ruoyu’s pretty face suddenly froze. Complex elements such as disbelief and shock appeared simultaneously. ”Why are you going Miami?”

”To enjoy!” Chen Fan’s thoughts were all on the electric eel, so he naturally didn’t see Wu Ruoyu’s complex and diverse expression.

People often say that women generally lack broad vision, and this is especially the case for pretty women. Therefore, when Wu Ruoyu saw Chen Fan’s cocky attitude, she instantly got pissed off. After giving a heavy snort, she also shut her eyes like Chen Fan.

--------

After over an hour at 8 p.m. Beijing time, Chen Fan and Wu Ruoyu transferred to an international flight and sat together again with a stroke of luck. Even their seating positions were unchanged; Chen Fan sat outside and she sat inside.

The plane flying to Miami international airport was from the airbus series manufactured by a French skytrain company, and its main characteristic was its huge size.

At around 9 p.m., Chen Fan reclined the seat and laid on the pillow with his eyes closed.

After Wu Ruoyu listened to music for a while, she had to remove her earphones and rub her slightly painful eyes. After looking at Chen Fan for a long while with perplexed eyes, she put the seat flat, covered herself with the blanket given by the air stewardess, and then pushed Chen Fan’s arm gently.

”Shall we have a chat?” Wu Ruoyu looked at Chen Fan with squinted eyes. After Chen Fan opened his eyes, she said embarrassedly, ”I can’t sleep, can you chat with me for a while?”

”Chat on?” Chen Fan turned his body to face Wu Ruoyu. The journey was indeed very boring. If Chen Fan wasn’t occupied with controlling the electric eel, he would have probably initiated a chat with Wu Ruoyu on the flight from Zhongyun.

”Let’s chat on why you’re going Miami?” Unable to think of any topic offhand, Wu Ruoyu started it off with the trip.

”I need to meet a business partner for some matters.” Chen Fan made up a reason. ”What about you? Why are you going Miami?”

”I’m attending a classmate’s wedding. She’s French, but married an American guy.”

”Oh,” Chen Fan let out a sound and waited for Wu Ruoyu’s next topic.

”When do you intend to return to Zhongyun?” Wu Ruoyu’s voice was very sweet, making one feel comfortable.

”I’m not sure, maybe after one or two days!” Chen Fan raised his eyebrow. ”Why, you wanna go back with me?”

”Let’s play it by ear. Give me your number first. I should be able to leave in a day or two if nothing goes wrong.” Wu Ruoyu pulled out her slender fingers from the blanket.

”Oh!” Chen Fan responded with a string of his cell phone number.

After chatting for a while more, Wu Ruoyu’s voice gradually became smaller, and her eyes closed due to the drowsiness.

How wonderful it would be if the plane had issues and had to land on some deserted island. Chen Fan couldn’t help but start fantasizing as he looked at Wu Ruoyu’s beautiful face.

The time difference between Zhongyun and Miami was 12 hours. When the plane landed at Miami’s international airport, it was around 10 p.m. local time.

After getting off the plane, Chen Fan said to Wu Ruoyu, ”Can you help me get a room at a hotel. I can’t speak English.”

”You can’t speak English?” Wu Ruoyu looked at Chen Fan in shock. ”Then how are you gonna communicate with people here in the States?”

”Ahem!” Chen Fan took out two stacks of USD from the inside of his coat. ”I can find an interpreter!”

”Can’t stand you!” Wu Ruoyu rolled her eyes. ”You don’t have any luggage, and you can’t speak English… forget it, I’m gonna stay for a night in a hotel, too. Just follow me!”
