131 Give You Two More Days Deadline
”America’s fifth fleet, Colonel Nenheim Baird?” Mr. Abadi’s head was in a fog as he tried to understand. He wasn’t brave enough to rob an American freighter, and it was late at night, and no one was at sea.

”What happened at sea? Can you explain the details?” Abadi did not dare rob an American freighter, but that did not mean he would pretend to be a coward in front of an American.

Twenty minutes ago, north latitude and twelve point zero five east longitude forty-seven point five seconds, your blue pirate ship, unexpectedly collided with a cruise missile destroyer; the Eagle Aaron that was cruising in that area. But the pirate ship was sunk by us.”

”The blue pirate ship?” Abadi was suddenly enlightened. ”I know what is going on. Not long ago, when the ship was anchored at the dock, someone took the opportunity to rob it. But who would have the guts to hit a missile destroyer?”

”Are you asking me?” Nenheim Baird was furious at the end of the phone. ”No matter if it was a deliberate act, or if there was something wrong with the ship...all I know is that this incident has brought indelible psychological damage the entire crew of the Eagle Aaron.”

”Three days...I will give you only three days...you must give a proper explanation...or be ready to bear the wrath of the Eagle,” said Nenheim Baird with an unassailable tone.

Du... du... du...

”Ah...”

”My boat has sunk, and you ask me for an explanation?”

Abadi was furious and suddenly sat up from his chair. The veins on his head were bursting. ”It was a big joke that a destroyer would be enduring indelible shock from the fright of a pirate ship that doesn’t even have protective armor? If you want to blackmail me, just say it. You don’t have to beat around the bush.”

...

After the anger, Abadi forced himself to calm down and carefully analyze the incident.

It wasn’t any of the hostages or any of their men. The people nearby might have stolen the boat, but they wouldn’t want to crash it into a destroyer even if they wanted to commit suicide.

”Was it the Asian kid? He had the ability to deploy submarines to attack my ships. ”

Abadi thought about it carefully, but he didn’t think it was possible.

The pirate ship needed at least three people to sail. Whoever had the guts to strike the American destroyer must have been someone who was not afraid of death. American artillery shells were not like Red Cross needles, and even if the person who drove the boat jumped off and into the sea, he would never be able to escape from the destroyer.

Sending three people to crash into the destroyer was suicide.

Abadi didn’t think the Asian boy would be so crazy. And if he was that cold-blooded then he wouldn’t have paid a ransom at all!

After thinking for a long time, Abadi clenched his teeth tight and dialed the financial officer’s phone.

”Well, prepare thirty million dollars, and send it tomorrow to the American destroyer that’s cruising around.”

...

”What madness!” Chen Fan recalled the scene just now, and still felt a lingering fear in his heart.

When the electric eel dove 30 meters underwater with the spear, (which it used to cause the pirate ship to collide with the navy cruiser), it did not need to worry about any bullets shooting at it. But the crossfire that came over from the carrier was full of powerful 25 mm diameter shells Some of it attacked the weak parts of the pirate ship and with a ”swish”, shot into the sea for a depth of about ten meters until the kinetic energy finally stopped.

...

Knock...Knock...Knock...

”Come out to have dinner, son!” Chen Fan’s father gently knocked the door.

”Coming, coming!”

”Wait till tomorrow, I’ll be back for revenge!” With a murmur, Chen Fan opened the door.

This dinner was very sumptuous. There was not only Chen Fan’s favorite, which was onion fragrant fried clam, but also dried bacilli specially brought from Yunnan. It was boiled with rice to make the delicious mushroom porridge.

Chen Fan’s father put a spoonful of porridge into his mouth and said, ”Son, in a couple days, let’s go to your former school, Boai High School, to help Meng Er go through the school transfer procedure. The old English teacher who taught you... isn’t her husband the Vice President of Yucai middle school? Let’s go and see him.”

”Dad, don’t you know...even if I passed her on the street, I wouldn’t want to see her. I am angry with her, and you want me to find her?” Chen Fan shook his head. ”It would just cost money to transfer schools. Why do we need to find her?”

”Boy, didn’t she just always call you into the office to recite English vocabulary? It’s all for your own good!” His father put down his spoon. ”Now it is nearly three months until the beginning of school. If we do not entrust some type of relationship, do you think you can pay money to enter?”

Chen Fan turned his head and said to Yunmeng who sat next to his mother drinking the porridge with her small mouth, ”Yunmeng, how old were you when you dropped out?”.

Meng Er’s original name was Kanidonglibaojiujiang.

Since the Qing Dynasty implemented the resettlement of the Miao people, who became naturalized and had their households registered, they gradually changed and transplanted the Han surname. At present, the household ethnic name of Miao was the registered Chinese surname. Only the elders went by their original name.

Her Han name was Yunmeng and her nickname was Meng Er. However, Chen Fan felt it was awkward to call her Meng Er and that calling her by her full name sounded better.

Meng Er raised her face and reflected in her extremely big eyes was still a little fear and shyness. She said in a hardly audible little voice, ”Up to the third year of middle school. Grandpa had broken his leg because of herb gathering in the mountain, then...and then I dropped out of school.”

”Third year of middle school...” Chen Fan thought for a moment with his hand touching his chin. Now she is seventeen, and she was supposed to be in the third year of high school!

”So, Dad, I’ll call my business partner and ask him if he has any way to help her get into school.”

As he said it, he took out his phone and called Zhang Xueyang.

”Hey, bro, are you here to invite me to dinner? But it’s a little late, I’m eating now!”

”I’ll treat you some other day!” Chen Fan casually said, ”I have a relative. I want to transfer her to Yucai High School. Do you have any pull in this area?”

”God... How do you survive in this field. You can’t even settle such small matter?”Zhang Xueyang’s tone was exaggerated. ”As a smuggler, isn’t this a failure?”

”Don’t patronize me, do you have any way?” Chen Fan was not polite to this guy. Anyway, they were peers, and they didn’t need formality between each other.

”No! But my father has a way,” Zhang Xueyang replied. ” I would fix it for you tonight, and then you can bring your relative with you to register at any time.”

”Oh, thanks!”

”Wait, wait, wait ...” Zhang Xueyang noticed that Chen Fan had meant to hang up the phone, and he hurriedly shouted, ”You always say you will treat me to a meal and you’ve procrastinated until now. When will you do it?”

”Don’t you have food every day? Besides, two men going to dinner together...won’t you feel strange?”

”Damn man, you could bring along two beautiful ladies, right?” Zhang Xueyang said playfully, ”I’ll stop joking… the fifteenth is my birthday. I wanted to let you know in a few days but since you called, I’m telling you now!”

”Ok, Bye!” Chen Fan hung up the phone.

”He has a way, and said that I could bring Yunmeng to register anytime. What grade do you want to study, Yunmeng?” said Chen Fan in a garbled voice while swallowing a clam.

Yunmeng seemed to be a little afraid of Chen Fan. She just sat there with her white, tender forefinger pinching the spoon. She couldn’t make up her mind and after a long time, she looked forward and said, ”I... I want to go to the third year in high school, but I’m afraid I can’t keep up with my grades. ”

”Don’t worry about that! Devotion, piety, and honesty is the motto of Yucai High School. But there is nothing about good grades in it. I had the second lowest average in my class... the last hundred in the whole grade, and there was no pressure either.” Chen Fan said with experienced tone of voice.

”That is you being thick-skinned! Meng Er, don’t listen to him. When you first arrive at school, you definitely won’t be able to keep up with the class, but just take your time,” Chen Fan’s father said, adding a clam into Yunmeng’s bowl. ”If you do not understand, ask Chen Fan to help you search on the Internet. Wait for this semester to lay a good foundation and next semester your grades will gradually improve.”

”Good grades don’t decide whether we can be fed!” Chen Fan crumpled his lips and muttered to himself.

The lights were on!

In the bedroom, Yunmeng curled up her body and gently stroked the beautiful silver locket on her chest. She thought it was dazzling.

She was an orphan, though grandpa always said she was his own granddaughter.

But Yunmeng knows that he picked her up from the mountain and raised her up with goat’s milk and rice porridge.

When she was young, she used to ask her grandpa with an anxious look, where her parents were. The way her grandpa would prevaricate, had always planted a seed of doubt in her heart!

With the gradual increase of age and maturity of mind, the seed, called ”doubt”, was also watered by all kinds of gossip, and gradually grew into a towering tree.

At the age of thirteen, when her grandfather lost his words after drunkenness, he finally let the ”big tree” in Yunmeng’s heart produce a fruit called ”affirmation.” And after her grandfather’s murmur before he died, he gently plucked the ripened ”fruit” off the tree.

Now, she had followed this uncle and aunt to a completely unfamiliar environment. Life here was carefree for her, and it was not necessary for her to go up the hill at five o’clock in the morning to pick the fruit that could only be only sold at a low price for a day’s expenses. From now on, she wouldn’t need to worry every day that her grandpa may be left alone if she encountered danger on the mountain.

Here, she not only had the uncle and aunt who treated her like their daughter, but she also had a school that she had been dreaming of for countless times...

But in Yunmeng’s head, most of them were filled with confusion...

...

What a night!

The next morning, the parents asked Chen Fan to take Yunmeng to see the blue sea, but Chen Fan did not agree and had them take her instead.

When his parents left, Chen Fan laid on the sofa and transferred his mind to the electric eel. The electric eel was hiding in the village of Erigavo, near the harbor in the sea, which was filled with many cargo ships of different sizes and more than 70 pirate ships.

About 1 pm, Chen Fan’s time, the whole dock was filled with pedestrians and boats. The people, who didn’t know the real reason for this prosperity, would have been absolutely surprised that such a poor country had such a busy port. There were great ships which weighed at least ten thousand tons. There were eleven of them, and they were all from a variety of different nationalities.

”Hey, Abadi, is my 500 million ransom ready?” After observing the enemy for half a day, Chen Fan took out his mobile phone and dialed the number that had called him the other day.

”I am his translator. You are not qualified to know his number!” There was a calm voice on the other end of the telephone.

”Oh, translator?” Chen Fan sat straight up. ”Is that guy Abadi in? Quickly convey my message to him.”

Du...du...du...

A busy tone was heard on the phone!

”Hang up my call?” Chen Fan was mad and continued to press the redial button.

The phone was cut off by the person on the other end three times in a row, but somehow the other person didn’t choose to turn his phone off.

”Damn!” Chen Fan walked into his bedroom, pulled out a dozen unopened new SIM cards from the drawer, and picked one.

Sure enough, after he changed to a new number, the other side answered the phone after two rings.

”Ahem...” Chen Fan cleared his throat and said seriously, ”Interpreter, you’d better not make a reckless move like you did just now, otherwise you will be severely punished by the Abadi guy.”

”You again?” The person on the other end paused for three seconds. ”Please show respect to our great leader! If you have anything to say, I will pass on your message.”

”Okay, Okay! But please translate my message without any change to it. You tell him I’ll give him another day to think about it, and one more day to pay the ransom.” Chen Fan arranged his words in his mind and said, ”But unfortunately, your pirate ship will sink halfway after twenty minutes. And if I don’t hear from you tomorrow... the other half will go down. And in the days to come, as long as any ship is active in the sea, I will sink those ships too.”

”Haha.” The person on the other end of the phone burst out into a huge criticizing laugh. ”Rest assured, I will convey your words to our leader and I’ll look forward to your warning.”

”Well, by the way, there’s another message. I want to pass it to you.”

”Say it!”

Chen Fan took a breath and cried out, ”Go and eat shit!”

Du... du... du...

The translator stared at the phone. The expression on his face was as if he was pinched by the nose and was forced to swallow hundreds of green flies!
