Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 856: New Project

Nathan continued to test the next two weapons. He picked the rifle next.

The rifle allowed him to continuously fire bullets with no problem. It didnʼt use bullets, so as long as he could provide ena, he could continue to shoot the enemy.

Still, the power was not great, considering it was equal to only one normal bullet. It wasnʼt even a big bullet.

If he used it correctly, he could still suppress his enemy with superior firepower.

Then, he switched to the next mode and shot up. These were actually explosive bullets that could be controlled by him. They curved down and exploded upon impact.

Although the power was still too low to his liking, with enough time, Elder Thompson should be able to perfect it.

After that, he moved on to the sniper rifle. This time, the sniper had a similar power to his big bullet and could travel a slightly longer distance. Unfortunately, it wasnʼt as far as he imagined. In addition, there was no scope that could help his aim.

It also had another mode, which produced a powerful burst bullet, like his magic pistol at full power.

”How is it?” Elder Thompson asked.

”The rifle is good enough, but it still needs to be perfected. As for the sniper rifle, itʼs not usable yet. I want the bullet to travel much longer than this.”

”I see. Thatʼs a problem.”

”From what I can see, the ena itself is not spinning. Why donʼt you make it spin? Wonʼt it increase its penetrative power? It might also allow the bullet to travel farther.”

”Ah! Thatʼs indeed possible. I will adjust it.”

”Also, I want something to help me look at the target even from such a long distance. If Iʼm not wrong, thereʼs something called a magnifying glass, right?”

”Yes.” Elder Thompson nodded.

”Do you think itʼs possible to use a magnifying glass to create that scope? Of course, the amplification has to be much greater than a normal magnifying glass. In the end, even if a summoner can use it, I want a normal person to be able to use it as well. This way, we will have a much larger force to fight the aliens.”

”Iʼm not really a master in that field. How about I ask my friend to handle the scope?”

”Sure. I will leave it to you,” Nathan agreed without hesitation, showing his trust.

”Understood.” Elder Thompson politely nodded. ”There are still two more weapons, but I havenʼt made them yet. I think they will take quite a while due to their concept.”

”Itʼs fine. Take your time.” Nathan paused for a moment. ”Actually, thereʼs another project I want you to take. Itʼs not a big project, but I want it to be finished as soon as possible. Do you think itʼs possible?”

”A new project?” Elder Thompsonʼs expression brightened. Nathan had given him this gun project, so he couldnʼt help but feel curious about what kind of amazing project he had for him.

Nathan took out the drawing of two magic circles. ”I want you to make a bracelet made of the same material as the magazine and engrave these two magic circles on it. Can you do it?”

Elder Thompson examined the drawing. ”Are these two space element magic circles?”

”Do you know it?”

”Iʼm aware of the big one, but I donʼt really know about the second one.”

”Well, the second one is an original magic circle that the person develops. Iʼm collaborating with another person for this one, so please keep it a secret.”

”I understand. Itʼs normal for blacksmiths to receive this kind of request. In fact, we have our own rule regarding magic circles. If someone is known to have spread their clientʼs magic circle, they lose the trust from society, which can make them lose their career. So, you donʼt have to worry about it. I will make sure to keep it safe and secret.” Elder Thompson nodded. If he, who wanted to be the father of magic guns, ended up getting entangled in a scandal like this, his name could be erased from history.

That was why he would take special care of this. He didnʼt mind taking this project to show his gratitude to Nathan and Vivian.

”Also, keep this project a secret from everyone else, including my teacher.”

”Eh? This is not Lady Vivianʼs project?”

”Yes. Itʼs my independent project.”

”I see.” Elder Thompson nodded. ”I understand. I can make this bracelet.”

”By the way, whatʼs the size of a bracelet to host these two magic circles?”

”Hm… Letʼs see…” Elder Thompson extended his hand. ”May I borrow your wrist?”

Nathan raised his arm. Elder Thompson then wrapped the wrist with three fingers. ”This big, I think?”

”Oh?” Nathan was quite surprised. It wasnʼt less than 2 centimeters wide (1 inch = 2.54 cm). ”How about the thickness?”

”That depends on what you want. Do you have any requests? Is this just for decoration or…”

”Itʼll be something I bring even to a battlefield, so I want it to be sturdy. Of course, for the prototype, I just want it to be working, but please adjust the design with that in mind. And itʼs fine to be thicker because I want to insert as much ena as possible. What do you think?”

Elder Thompson carefully pondered. ”Itʼs actually not really hard.”

”How long do you need to finish it?”

”Since this one takes priority, letʼs see… One day should be enough. I can make the bracelet in just one or two hours, but engraving these two magic circles takes much longer than this. So, please come again tomorrow afternoon.”

”I understand. Thank you.” Nathan nodded.

”I should be the one thanking you. Youʼve given me this exciting project, so Iʼll do my best to finish this bracelet as quickly as possible.” Elder Thompson smiled while adding inwardly, ʼThis bracelet… Is it for his teacher? Is it a gift? Thatʼs why he wants me to keep it a secret, even from his teacher.ʼ

Elder Thompson misunderstood him. That misunderstanding actually made him respect Nathan even more. For a student to be this filial to his teacher, he knew that Nathan would also be good to him, as they finished a lot of projects together.
