Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 763: Barrier

”What a stupid test.” Anubis snorted. He activated his ability, closing the wound almost instantly.

”…” Lena couldnʼt help but widen her eyes in shock. She never thought the claim was true. She was an arcane level summoner according to Nathanʼs new classifications.

Hence, she never thought Anubis possessed the power to heal her. Of course, she noticed the considerable amount of ena that Anubis had to use to heal her.

After all, the stronger the person was, the more powerful their body was. As a result, Anubis had to replicate that kind of strength. Fortunately, it was just an arm, so Anubis still had plenty of ena. If it was a critical injury, he would have used about 70% of his ena, which meant he couldnʼt do it for the second time.

Anubis couldnʼt help but reprimand her. ”Did humans love to do such a stupid thing? If you wanted to test my healing ability, you should have brought me to the medical site.

”According to the memory my summoner provided me, this city is the front against the aliens coming from the sea, so you should have a lot of injured people.

”You should have brought me there instead. This way, I can heal them and gain their recognition as well, which allows you to raise their morale. Since youʼre going to help my summoner, it will make people willing to help him as well.”

Lena opened her mouth, but the words stuck in her throat. Anubis was right. She never thought there would be a time in her life where she was scolded by a jackal.

Nathan, on the other hand, clapped his hands. ”All right. Letʼs end this matter here. We can do that later.

”However, looking at her actions, you will realize how she treasures her subordinates. She must be fighting alongside her people or even rowing the boat together with the sailors.

”Thatʼs why her subordinates must have trusted her a lot.” Nathan shook his head. Nathan couldnʼt help but recall the name he chose to impersonate when they were impersonating the duchess during the previous mission with Flora.

Napoleon Bonaparte. Nathan thought, ʼAccording to the story I have read, Napoleon Bonaparte is fighting alongside his people. He is often getting covered in mud or even climbing the wall of the enemyʼs fort.

ʼThatʼs why his men trust him a lot. Even if thereʼs a fortified wall, if he tells them to climb it, they will do it. If he tells them to jump, they will ask, ʼHow high?ʼ

ʼItʼs thanks to that trust heʼs able to climb high in the military.ʼ

Lena scratched the back of her head. ”Iʼm not such a person. You have overestimated me. Without my men, we canʼt hold back the alien invasion.”

After hearing Lenaʼs reply, Anubis snorted and said, ”Letʼs leave it at that. So, are you going to teach us to produce a barrier? Once weʼre done, I will head to the medical site and help those warriors.”

”Y-Yes.” Lena nodded, feeling grateful. Even though her territory had priests, no priests were as capable as Anubis. She took a deep breath to regain her composure. ”In that case, letʼs start right away.

”Creating a barrier is not that hard. Maintaining it is the hardest part.” Lena closed her eyes, gently releasing her ena around her body. The ena enveloping her body gradually hardened and created a human-shaped barrier that looked like a second skin of hers. ”This is my barrier.”

”!!!” Nathan widened her eyes in shock. Normally, a barrier was stationary. Only someone like Selena could make a dynamic barrier due to her extraordinary control.

However, this dynamic barrier was slightly different. Even Selenaʼs barrier wasnʼt at this level.

A normal barrier might be useful for them, but since they were expected to fight underwater, they had to release their ena outside that barrier, which normally would block even their own attack.

Nathan squinted his eyes and asked, ”How are we going to attack our enemy?”

”Thatʼs right. Creating the barrier alone is not enough. You also need to make it in a way you can fight with it. In my case…” Lena waved her blade toward the pull.

If one took a closer look, they would notice that her sword actually touched the barrier at the last second, which sent the ena outside the barrier.

The sword strike came out and hit the water.

”Are you… discharging the attack?”

”Yes.” Lena pointed at the barrier. ”The concept itself is like a normal barrier. However, do you know that once you erect a barrier, you can attack with your barrier?

”For example, I charged my sword with my ena so that when it touched the barrier, it would be absorbed into the barrier. However, because the barrier was at the max output, that ena would then be reproduced by the barrier itself and get released at the same speed and form. Of course, if you donʼt have the timing and control for it, it wonʼt succeed.”

Nathan crossed his arms.

Anubis shook his head. ”In that case, I donʼt need that kind of barrier. Since Iʼll be playing my role as a support, I will stay in the back. As for the barrier itself, itʼs definitely not hard.”

Anubis ended his sentence by creating a normal spherical barrier that covered his body, as if telling them this kind of barrier was enough for him.

Nathan, on the other hand, planned to have the spherical barrier.

”Yes. Me too.” Nathan snapped her fingers, forming several bullets outside the barrier. But because of his range, he had to make his barrier smaller than Anubisʼ.

Still, it was enough for his Gun Control System. ”This is my fighting style, so Iʼll be using this barrier to fight.

Lena looked surprised, but if they truly had no problem with their fighting style, things might be easier than she expected.

…

While Lena and Nathan focused on their training, Flora and Rena had a serious discussion.

”Are you sure about this, Flora?” Rena frowned.

”Yes, Mother. Because of my power, I canʼt help him more than this. However, he has helped me a lot. I wish to repay it. Thatʼs why… Please allow me to go back even just for half a day and not tell him about it.”
