Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 734: View

The king stated, ”Youʼre the most dangerous person in this country. Why would we think your power wonʼt be used against us?”

The man said, ”I donʼt have any intention of doing anything.”

”Your power is too great. If you donʼt plan to be under us, weʼll just kill you!”

”What the fuck?!” Nathan shouted in anger, looking at his phone. ”Why are they suddenly forcing the main character to submit? Heʼs clearly the strongest, so why would they even threaten them? Are these people in the royal court idiots? This royal family is useless.

”Rather than pleasing the main character and getting him peacefully, theyʼre doing everything to force the main character to submit to them. Are they foolish enough to not understand that their action can cause him to hate them? And are they going to be shocked next when he is going to destroy their entire kingdom?

”Next what? Oi! You have all that power, but why do you not realize it and just want to please them? You idiot. Itʼs hopeless.” Nathan snorted and turned off his phone, annoyed.

Nathan blinked his eyes a few times, recalling the time he got frustrated when reading novels.

He took a secret glance at Flora beside him, thinking, ʼNow that I think about it, the royal family here is rather different from the ones Iʼve read so far.

ʼAlthough their goal is similar, their method is different. I know they are trying to push Flora onto me so that they can form a relationship with me.

ʼOf course, this is reality, and Iʼm never going to be the main character. However, this little uniqueness of mine surely picks their interest.

ʼRather than forcing me and frustrating me, theyʼre much more… subtle in their approach.

ʼInstead of shoving someone onto me, theyʼre just enabling Flora to have a relationship with me.

ʼI thought the king would be threatening me or something, but from the looks of it, the king is not pleasing me or pushing me. Instead, he is treating me like what a good king would do to a good vassal. But because Iʼm not a vassal, he treated me more like someone equal. Although itʼs just an unofficial meeting, it shows the way he approaches things.

ʼAt the very least, theyʼre not doing something to make me hate them. While itʼs true that Iʼve shown my cards, theyʼre not really incompetent. In fact, the king and his ministers should have been able to do a lot of things without me.

ʼIʼm just a rough wave that suddenly disrupts their flow. Even then, theyʼre not doing anything that will make me hate them.

ʼWhether itʼs the king or even the Pope, theyʼre not following the stereotype. No, itʼs more like… theyʼre closer to the people back on Earth.

ʼItʼs true that whenever thereʼs a light, thereʼs a shadow. However, theyʼre not utterly corrupt or trying to destroy the kingdom recklessly.

ʼA lot of things have happened the way they happened in the books Iʼve read, but the people here are closer to the people on Earth. Theyʼre rational enough to do the best thing.

ʼMaybe I should have talked to the king sooner… Then again, even though Iʼm a unique summoner, my worth first got recognized after the presentation of a magic weapon and summoner rank. So, before that, I donʼt have anything that is good enough to meet the king.

ʼStill, after knowing the people in this world, I guess I should change my approach. All the stories Iʼve read will become the reference instead of thinking of them as something that most likely will happen. I will use them to make a decision, but I will consider the rationality of the people in this world.ʼ

Nathan closed his eyes. Although it felt the same, there was one fundamental difference in his view. In the past, he would consider the novels to reflect the real world. But from now on, he would use them as a reference to create plans instead of pushing him away from confronting them.

Nathan took a deep breath. After changing his mindset, his mind felt refreshed.

”Flora.”

”En?” Flora turned her head to him. ”Whatʼs wrong?”

”Nothing. I just want to thank you. Thanks to the meeting, I feel like I know how I should move forward from now on.” Nathan smiled.

Flora smiled. ”Is that so? Iʼm glad I can be of help.”

Nathan nodded. ”Well, letʼs go back to the inn and meet with Selena. We can go tomorrow.”

”I will return to our city tomorrow. Besides, my father has given me the task. Remember him telling us to give a name for the city? Do you have any name in mind?”

Nathan shook his head. ”I donʼt mind any name, just not an embarrassing one.”

”All right.” Flora nodded. ”I should go back and handle all kinds of administrative processes first. Then itʼs time for us to have a teleportation circle that is connected to the network of the four kingdoms. However, this also means opening our city to the public. Will you be fine with it?”

Nathan contemplated for a moment. Opening the city would mean letting in spies from the outside. At the same time, it would also allow their people to travel easily and the flow of goods could be maintained better.

The pros outweigh the cons from what he could see.

After some consideration, ”I will take my time to think about it. However, Iʼm leaning toward opening the city.”

”Itʼs fine. Even after they construct the teleportation portal, we can still not activate it for a while. I can always make some reasons to stall for time.”

Nathan smiled. ”In that case, letʼs do that for now. I donʼt want to make such a big decision rashly. For now, letʼs return to the inn and regroup with Selena.

”Thereʼs also something Iʼd like to tell both of you.”

Flora agreed before snuggling her arms around his. ”Nathan. Thank you for meeting my father. It feels like the burden in my chest has just been lifted up.”

”Iʼm the same.”
