Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 631: Escaping

A clicking sound between the ice and glass echoed inside the room. Under the moonlight sat Melissa, drinking alcohol.

Her bedroom door was slightly open. If one took a look from that small opening, they would see a picture sitting right next to her bed.

It was a drawing of her and Jay. They had a big smile on their faces, showing their left hand, specifically the ring finger.

On that finger, there were the same pair of silver rings that rested on the same tabletop.

Melissa wanted to take another sip but somehow hesitated. It was because of the woman behind her.

Yes, Flora was there. She had fallen asleep on the table with a pile of books around her.

”…” Melissa closed her eyes for a moment before putting down the glass. Silently and carefully, she ended up carrying Flora to another room and covered her so that she wasnʼt freezing.

”Royalty, huh? Even though you have the same bloodline, you didnʼt look that similar,” Melissa muttered in a low voice before leaving the room.

…

She still remembered the man who killed her fiance as if itʼd just happened yesterday. It had been haunting her for the last 8 years every single night.

Before she realized it, she had ended up ruining her life in that sorrow.

The last thing she remembered was the cold look of that guy as he was about to kill her. She thought it didnʼt matter since she would end up following the person she loved the most and they wouldnʼt have to be separated.

Yet even death didnʼt allow her to follow him, let alone her fiance himself. If he could just meet her one more time, he would probably tell her to forget about him and live happily, even though it was impossible.

When she passed out, Evelyn suddenly appeared right next to the guy.

She kicked him in the side, but the guy managed to put both hands in its way, using the spider threads to block the kick.

”!!!” Evelyn clicked her tongue.

The guy skillfully switched his stance and released even more threads in order to slice her like Jay.

However, Evelyn used her gravity to adjust the course of those threads.

”Kh.” Those threads still hit her, covering her body in wounds. Evelyn, of course, didnʼt fully use her ena to block that attack. Instead, she saved some so that she could kick the guy one more time.

The guy simply blocked it with his coat that somehow hardened upon impact. With the help of gravity, she managed to push him back a bit as a portal formed right behind him, teleporting him like the other two guys.

Evelyn breathed heavily. Even though she managed to save Melissa, there was only despair and horror on her face.

Jay was dead, and the way he died couldnʼt be any worse. He was dismembered right before the person who loved him the most.

Even if Melissa was adept in battle and quite strong herself, there was no way her mind could resist such damage. She screamed to the point she passed out.

There was no telling what would happen when Melissa woke up.

”Melissa…” Bella was following Evelyn while carrying Vivian.

Evelyn gritted her teeth, holding back her sorrow. She still had her duty. Even Jay would say not to cry and help as many people as possible.

”Bella. Take care of Melissa as well. I still have a job to do!” Evelyn said with a shaking voice.

Evelyn spared no efforts to rescue other people. Obviously, the easiest people to rescue were the ones getting chased by the unknown creatures.

She fought one creature after another, sending the people to the same spot.

However, she didnʼt have a lot of time. The more people she rescued, the more the chaos would settle down. It would allow the enemies to realize what was going on and fully focus on them. At that time, no one was strong enough to fight them and they would definitely die.

In addition, Ilya kept reminding her, ”I canʼt hold on much longer. Hurry!”

Fortunately, Bella was there. She used her illusion to make it look like their rendezvous point was nothing but a chaotic battlefield. Although there was no way it could last long, they should be able to buy enough time.

”Evelyn!” Ilya shouted her name. The desperate tone was the signal that she couldnʼt last any longer. If she delayed it more than this, the barrier would be completely fixed, and the portal couldnʼt be used anymore.

That was why Evelyn could only grit her teeth and return.

She had fought so much that she didnʼt realize that the number of people she managed to rescue surpassed her initial expectation. There were actually 30 people inside the illusion.

”We have to go. I will use my full power to create the last opening in the barrier. It will be unstable, but send everyone to a random location. The enemies might chase after us.” Ilya clapped her hand.

She thought it would be better to teleport them to a city at first, but the enemies would attack the banquet that was protected by a world class summoner and two arcane level summoners along with numerous talented people.

There was no way they would care about a city or two. If they teleported everyone to the city, they would implicate all the people inside that city.

On the other hand, if they scattered everyone, the enemies had to choose to pursue them in one or a few directions.

This would lead to a bigger chance of survival.

”Thereʼs no other choice. Weʼll do it.” Evelyn clapped her hands as well.

”All people who can use Synchronization. Boost them, please!” Bella raised her voice.

”!!!” The enemies soon noticed the fluctuation of the space element.

”This is…”

”Itʼs there!”

One of them hurriedly waved his hand, using the ena to disrupt the flow of energy in the area. As a result, the illusion started to crumble.

”Kh!” Bella instinctively ran to Evelyn, trying to protect her. She was their only hope.

”Letʼs do it!”

”Haaa!”

Both Ilya and Evelyn raised their output to the maximum, enveloping everyone with their space element to teleport them out of this place.

”NO!” Three of them rushed toward Ilya and Evelyn. They were so close but still couldnʼt reach them. However, they were still entangled with the space element as the three people were also swept by the teleportation.
