Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 558: Cleaning Up

When the base was struggling against the aliens, Nathan led his group to the city. Just like they originally planned, the minister immediately took off, working together with the summoner inside this base to take down the warrior class aliens in succession.

Because they had to focus on one side at a time, Nathan asked Selena to form a wall that blocked the flow from the other side so that the aliens couldnʼt flank them or escape.

Nathan and Flora entered the base by leaping over the wall. Without hesitation, Flora used her identity as the princess of the Azilia Kingdom to get everything they wanted.

Meanwhile, Nathan headed in the opposite direction, introducing himself to the summoners before telling them to stop the warrior class aliens for a bit, since this side was the last one.

Of course, Nathan had given Anubis 2,000 ena. This wasnʼt as much as Anubis expected, but Nathan only wanted him to focus on healing the ones with severe wounds first. Those with lighter wounds could recover by themselves.

With this task, the soldiers would feel relieved and their morale would recover to a certain extent, allowing them to hold on against the aliens.

Still, their armyʼs speed was quite fast. Since Nathan had placed the freshest soldiers in the front, they were able to destroy one side in just fifteen minutes, with the minister taking down one warrior class alien.

They continued to the next wall. Although the summoner who was fighting the warrior class alien earlier was quite exhausted, with the combination of his strength and the ministerʼs, they managed to take down the warrior class alien pretty easily.

In the end, the army had made it so that they didnʼt have to worry about low-level aliens, including the mature class aliens.

With such speed, the people from the base were happy to cooperate.

The battle itself was exhausting, but the soldiers continued fighting. Finally, one and a half hours after reaching this base, they finally took down the last warrior class alien.

Anubis immediately worked hard, considering he was the only healer in this place. Even Nathan felt a bit embarrassed to overwork like this to the point where he considered another person with a healing ability.

Nevertheless, they managed to salvage the base from the aliens. While leaving the others to clean up the battlefield, they hurriedly made a meeting with all the important people in the base.

Of course, there were only six people attending this meeting. The Liaystian Kingdomʼs representatives were none other than the commander and the vice commander of the base.

Meanwhile, the representatives from the Azilia Kingdom were obviously the commander who had brought the aliens, the minister, and the princess. Of course, Nathan had to participate in the meeting, considering his status was seen as equal to that of the war minister in this operation.

The army commander began their meeting with a recount of the event.

Even the people from the Liaystian Kingdom looked concerned once they listened to him.

The minister crossed his arms. ”So, they ambushed you with 7 warrior class aliens… That was concerning. I thought my position was already bad enough because we were attacked by four warrior class aliens.

”Nevertheless, it looked like the frontline had become much messier than I originally thought.

”The number of aliens had increased drastically. Normally, we would have trouble in finding a single mature class alien on the frontline. And now, the tunnels alone were protected by over 50 mature class aliens.”

The commander bowed his head. ”I apologize. I tried to break away and escape the moment I noticed my unfavorable situation, but I ended up being a tad too late, which caused a lot of deaths on our side.”

”Youʼve done your best. I know that.” The minister pinched the bridge of his nose before turning to the baseʼs commander. ”The Liaystian Kingdom…”

”We were told about your situation, so we would be cooperating with you.”

”In that case, we should send a group to destroy the passage. As long as we close it, we should be able to relax for a bit.”

”Yes. Thatʼs what weʼre planning as well. The higher-ups have asked me to confirm the passageʼs existence as well, so I hope you donʼt mind if I come with you.”

The minister nodded. He glanced at Nathan, ”You should go back after this. Youʼve fulfilled your roles. We can handle the rest.”

”Yeah. But I will at least escort you to the tunnels before using it to return.”

”Sounds good.” The minister raised one finger. ”In that case, the Azilia Kingdom will repay the Liaystian Kingdom for their help, which will be taken care of by the people from the central. However, I hope that you are able to send the letter to your central government so that they know about this potential threat and take it seriously. It will be bad if the aliens succeed. Thereʼs a chance that your frontline will collapse.”

”You donʼt have to worry. The central is handling it seriously.” The commander waved his hand.

”All right.” The minister contemplated for a moment. ”In that case, weʼll head out tomorrow and get some rest for today. Will that be alright for you?”

”Of course. There are still plenty of spaces on the base. As long as you donʼt mind sharing it with others, weʼd welcome you.”

”Great.” The minister stood up. ”In that case, weʼll discuss the rest by ourselves.”

The minister waved his hand at Nathan, signaling him to get some rest after working so hard today. Of course, he better take Flora with him.

Knowing his intention, both of them exited the tent and regrouped with Selena and the others.

They had worked really hard today, so they needed plenty of rest. Besides, they should get quite a lot of mature class and warrior class aliens. Although they had to split it for six people, it was still much better than their efforts before the volcanic eruption.

However, when they were about to rest, Selena actually dropped a bomb by saying, ”Nathan. After we return, Iʼm planning to leave for a few days to a week. I want to get the final piece of my revenge.”
