Strongest Lord by Opening Blind Boxes

Chapter 33: Chapter 33: It’s Not That Easy to Kill Me

North of Pottery Village, at the General’s Tomb, the main force of the Lu Family Stronghold had arrived.

Just then, at the site of the desolate grave, the ground began to shake. A stone gateway slowly rose from the earth, a swirling, dark blue spatial vortex visible within its frame.

”Perfect timing. The General’s Tomb has opened!”

Lu Hongyan, riding her Golden Lion Mount, glanced at the dungeon entrance ahead and said, ”Step through the gateway and you’ll reach the Dungeon Realm. Time is precious. General Lu, take your men inside. I will wait here for your triumphant return!”

”Alright, watch me! Lads, it’s time to show them what we’ve got! Follow me, and we’ll flatten the General’s Tomb.”

Lu Junsheng waved his hand, quickly leading his men through the stone gateway.

Pang Damao, as one of Lu Junsheng’s trusted confidants, naturally went in with them.

Soon, only Lu Hongyan and her Golden Lion Mount remained in front of the dungeon entrance.

Meanwhile, a hundred meters away on a hillside, hidden in the shadow of a boulder that was actually a camouflaged Rock Giant Scorpion, Wang Yi and Man Datou were secretly watching.

’So what if this woman has a Big Saber Team?’

Wang Yi climbed onto the Crossbow Machine Carriage.

He had already received a system notification: the Lu Family Stronghold’s Wooden Arrow Towers, Food Barrel Trees, Wood Armor Workshop, Blacksmith Shop, and Material Warehouse had been destroyed. He had gained 800 Lord Experience!

”Big Head, Cyan Ox and the others have succeeded. It’s time for us to begin! Target: Lu Hongyan. Beheading strike!”

Wang Yi said to Man Datou beside him. He stopped hiding, started the Crossbow Machine Carriage, twisted the handlebars, and aimed the front of the vehicle toward Lu Hongyan.

The Lu Family Stronghold was numerous and well-equipped, so Wang Yi had no intention of facing them head-on. ’The best outcome,’ he thought, ’is to take advantage of the moment when their main forces are clearing the dungeon and Lu Hongyan’s personal defenses are weak, and kill her quickly!’

Once this beheading plan was accomplished, the Lu Family Stronghold would be finished!

To prevent any accidents, Wang Yi had made two-pronged preparations: he would lead the beheading strike with Man Datou, while Yang Qingniu and the others would raid their base.

This way, even if the beheading strike failed, Lu Hongyan would have lost her important functional buildings and logistical supplies. Her territory’s development would be set back, and she would no longer be a major threat.

SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH...

The Crossbow Machine Carriage activated. The sharp sound of arrows breaking the air suddenly erupted as a torrent of Flying Light Arrows shot out, locking onto the beautiful figure on the Golden Lion’s back.

ROAR!

But the sudden attack didn’t harm Lu Hongyan. The Golden Lion Mount beneath her let out a sudden roar, and a faint golden shield instantly appeared, tightly protecting both of them.

The Flying Light Arrows all slammed into the shield, creating ripples, but not a single one could penetrate it.

”Hm?”

Lu Hongyan was shocked, staring in horror toward Wang Yi’s direction.

Wang Yi glanced at the Golden Lion Mount under Lu Hongyan. ’This beast is impressive,’ he thought, ’to be able to block the Flying Light Arrows.’

’Let’s see how long you can keep that up!’

He snorted and continued firing.

After deploying the shield, the Golden Lion seemed unable to move. It stood its ground, roaring in Wang Yi’s direction, but the shield around it gradually lost its luster, dimming and starting to deform.

’This is bad! It can’t hold! The shield is about to break! What kind of weapon is that? A Laser Gun?’

Sweat beaded on Lu Hongyan’s forehead. The enemy’s weapon was too powerful; her mount clearly couldn’t withstand it for much longer.

The next moment, the female Player decisively leaped off the Golden Lion’s back, quickly crouching down to hide behind it.

The shield around the Golden Lion shattered immediately after. The Flying Light Arrows, no longer blocked, pierced through. PFFT! PFFT! PFFT! PFFT! They rained down on the Golden Lion’s body.

AWOOO!

The Golden Lion let out a pained roar, its body instantly riddled with arrows and dripping with blood.

”Cover my escape!”

Lu Hongyan shouted. The Golden Lion fell, then struggled back to its feet. It glanced back at Lu Hongyan before suddenly charging straight for Wang Yi.

At the same time, Lu Hongyan crouched down, dove into the tall grass, and sprinted away into the distance.

Wang Yi kept up his attack, controlling the Crossbow Machine Carriage to pursue Lu Hongyan, just like he was strafing with a machine gun.

Lu Hongyan was panicking. She carelessly stumbled and tumbled down the hillside. Her forehead was immediately cut open in several places by the rocks. She didn’t have time to wipe the blood from her face; after rolling twice on the ground, she scrambled up and ran desperately toward the dense forest in the distance.

By now, the blood-soaked Golden Lion was about to reach Wang Yi.

”You half-dead beast, you dare to fight back!”

Man Datou suddenly bellowed. He mounted his Rock Giant Scorpion, raised his Sha River Overlord Spear, and charged directly down the slope.

”Master, leave this lion to me!”

Man Datou was brimming with fighting spirit. He charged toward the blood-covered Golden Lion, intending to kill it first!

Wang Yi nodded. Without hesitation, he slammed his foot on the accelerator, and the Crossbow Machine Carriage shot forward with a ROAR.

Lu Hongyan’s agility had exceeded Wang Yi’s expectations. Now he had to drive to hunt her down.

’Once Lu Hongyan escapes into the dense forest, it’ll be much harder to hunt her down!’

With this thought, Wang Yi floored the accelerator of the Crossbow Machine Carriage. The vehicle became like an Incarnation of a ferocious beast, tearing across the wild terrain. Wang Yi felt the violent jolts, but his assault never ceased; the Flying Light Arrows stuck right to Lu Hongyan’s heels.

On the other side, the battle between Man Datou and the Golden Lion had instantly begun.

The Golden Lion was severely injured. It looked savage and vicious, but in reality, it was just a desperate last stand to buy its master a chance to escape.

Man Datou’s first spear strike hit its neck. The Horizontal Cut effect triggered; the spear tip opened and closed, and with a SQUELCH, blood sprayed as the massive lion’s head was snipped right off.

The Rock Giant Scorpion’s massive tail swept out, sending the headless lion’s body flying twenty feet away with a THUD. Blood gushed everywhere.

”Too weak!”

Man Datou bellowed. He rode his Rock Giant Scorpion down the hill, joining Wang Yi in the pursuit of Lu Hongyan.

Lu Hongyan was nimble on her feet and ran extremely fast.

Wang Yi chasing her down in a tractor across the wilderness was, in the end, not a reliable method. After hitting a rock and nearly flipping over, he was forced to stop.

This delay was all Lu Hongyan needed to rush into the dense forest, her figure now difficult to find.

’I underestimated this woman!’

Wang Yi frowned slightly. He mused that even if Lu Hongyan had saved her own skin for now, with her territory’s buildings and supplies destroyed, she could only become a wandering lord and was no longer a major threat.

He gave up the chase and drove back.

He soon set up the Crossbow Machine Carriage at the entrance of the General’s Tomb dungeon.

The main forces of the Lu Family Stronghold were still in the Dungeon Realm. Only by destroying this army could he truly rest easy.

Man Datou stood beside him, wiping the blood from the tip of his Sha River Overlord Spear with his palm. The fight just now hadn’t been nearly enough to satisfy him.

At this very moment, deep in the forest at the foot of the mountain, Lu Hongyan was still in a state of shock. She was panting heavily, her legs aching so much she felt she couldn’t run another step.

’Damn it! It’s that Lord of the Rolling King! Chasing me in a tractor, that’s just too much! Good thing my character is a stronghold’s Second-in-Command. I’m trained and have good stamina. It’s not that easy to kill me...’

Lu Hongyan plopped down on the ground. She leaned her back against a large tree, and just as she was about to take a rest, a large saber was slowly placed against the front of her neck.

”Don’t move!”

The one holding the saber was none other than Yang Wanli. A look of delight was on his face as he said, ”Hahahaha, didn’t expect this, did you? This old man caught you!”
