Wang Yi gazed at the selection window before him, his heart filled with joy.

”As expected of a Blue Blind Box, it’s packed with good stuff! A Foundation Establishment Pill... even this exists! It looks like you can practice Cultivation in this world after all!”

Wang Yi rubbed his chin and looked over the items from the blind box again.

’An Angel Potion, sounds nice. It must be a powerful potion, right? A Green-headed Man Mask, what’s the use of that? A Self-defense Electric Stick, now that’s a good item! An air cushion ship? With the Jade River nearby, this boat might come in handy. A Ninja Turtle Outfit? That’s just a cosplay costume. Only a lunatic would wear that! The last one, the Enhanced +8 Blue Chaos Egg... you’re the one!’

Wang Yi made his choice decisively, and a basketball-sized, blue-shelled giant egg appeared before him.

[Chaos Egg +8: Blue quality. Consumes 100 points of Chaos Energy to hatch a Territory Guardian Beast that will never betray you. This Guardian Beast will be of blue quality and possess two skills.]

”’A Territory Guardian Beast that will never betray me!’”

Wang Yi was overjoyed.

”’This came at the perfect time. My territory is in desperate need of defense!’”

He immediately hatched the Chaos Egg. The eggshell shattered, and a blue light flared. A fat, giant chicken the size of an ostrich slowly emerged.

The giant chicken had a small comb, earthy-yellow feathers all over its body, and a dazed look in its eyes. It was so fat it looked like it had been inflated with air. Then, a golden light began to radiate from its body as it rapidly grew in size.

Soon, the watchtower could no longer contain the Territory Guardian Beast. With a flash of light, it appeared directly outside the tower.

Wang Yi stared blankly. After a few breaths, the golden light around the ”giant chicken” dissipated. It now stood over six meters tall by his estimation. It resembled an enlarged hen, but with some differences: its legs were extremely thick, and it even had two small claws on its chest!

Name: Gegeda

Race: Combat Chicken +8

Designation: Territory Guardian Beast

Guardian Beast Trait: Territory Guardian Beasts possess an extremely strong sense of territory and will spontaneously patrol the area, expel enemies, and perform similar actions.

Skill 1: [Ancestral Bloodline] +4. The Combat Chicken Gegeda’s bloodline has undergone continuous ancestral regression, fusing the bloodlines of ancient giant chickens, the Tyrannosaurus Rex, primeval giant birds, and the Phoenix. It has become a super-hybrid monstrosity, possessing a powerful physique, astonishing strength, and superb combat skills. However, its combat abilities are still at the level of a ferocious beast.

Skill 2: [Nesting] +4. The Combat Chicken Gegeda is skilled at nesting. Under the effect of a mysterious power, it has advanced four times and now possesses master-level nesting skills, allowing it to independently build Eggshell Houses that are warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Description: This is a Territory Guardian Beast that will never betray you and has immense potential for development. Please note: Gegeda can leave the territory, but straying too far will cause it distress. It is a carnivore and requires two tons of food daily.

”Gegeda, gegeda!”

The newborn Territory Guardian Beast cried out, its voice low and deep. Its body was fat, and it looked a bit dopey as it lifted its head to stare at Wang Yi.

Wang Yi felt immense pressure.

’This Combat Chicken is huge! With a body this size, even a Tyrannosaurus Rex would look like a pipsqueak in front of it, right?’

’Holy cow! This... this is a super Combat Chicken... I think! Enhanced +8... why does it feel like it was given eight skill points to randomly allocate between its two skills?’

Wang Yi found it a bit absurd. He already had 15 Combat Chickens, and now, to top it all off, a super Combat Chicken had appeared!

’I’m even called the Roasted Chicken Immortal. Could it be that I’m fated to be with... ”chickens”?!’

”Hey, can you understand what I’m saying?”

Wang Yi asked tentatively, standing on the watchtower.

Gegeda nodded and said, ”Gegeda!”

”You have Phoenix bloodline? Can you fly then?”

”Gegeda!”

The giant Combat Chicken nodded again.

”You can really fly?”

”Gegeda!”

The Combat Chicken flapped its wings a couple of times, kicked off with its legs, and, sending up a huge cloud of dust, actually took flight.

However, it was too fat. Its wings flapped furiously, and it seemed to be struggling. It managed to get about twenty meters high, crying ”Gegeda! Gegeda!” in midair with a flustered, clumsy look. Then, in less than a minute, the big, fat chicken fell butt-first back to the ground, making the earth tremble and kicking up a massive cloud of dust.

’With skills like that, I’m afraid it won’t work as a flying mount!’

Wang Yi muttered to himself but wasn’t the least bit disappointed. He gave Gegeda a thumbs-up and said, ”Very good, very powerful! The great responsibility of guarding the territory is now yours!”

”Gegeda!”

Gegeda responded.

The giant chicken had already attracted a lot of attention. Many villagers rushed over. Having developed a resistance to shock, they were calm and orderly as they gathered to watch Gegeda, observing it as if it were a Divine Beast. They chatted, laughed, and made comments.

Man Datou and the five members of the Civilian Militia also hurried over. Gegeda’s eyes sharpened, its gaze instantly locking onto the Rock Giant Scorpion following behind Man Datou. It suddenly charged forward, snatched the Rock Giant Scorpion up with one claw, and flung it more than ten meters away.

The Rock Giant Scorpion, caught by the sudden attack, had no power to resist. It flew through the air in an arc and crashed heavily to the ground, landing on its back and spewing green blood.

Wang Yi quickly shouted, ”Don’t attack, don’t attack! It’s one of ours!”

Hearing this, Gegeda halted its attack. It tilted its head to look at the blood-spewing Rock Giant Scorpion, which, with a sharp sound, contracted its body to camouflage itself as a rock.

”This is the Territory Guardian Beast, Gegeda. A super Combat Chicken. You’ve all seen the Chicken Squad, right? Gegeda is pretty much like them!”

Wang Yi explained to Man Datou and the others.

Man Datou swallowed hard and muttered, ”Pretty much the same? This is way, way different!”

After saying that, he hurried over to check on his precious mount.

Just then, the 15 Little Combat Chickens arrived in formation. When they saw Gegeda, it was as if they had met their ancestor. They immediately flocked around Gegeda, chirping nonstop.

Despite its large size, Gegeda was very gentle. It seemed to like the Little Combat Chickens and carefully played with them using its claws.

”Alright, everyone, disperse! Get back to whatever you were doing.”

Wang Yi walked over to Gegeda and said, ”Gegeda, show me your Nesting skill.”

Gegeda nodded. The big, fat creature got busy, scraping together a pile of dirt and broken stones with its giant claws. Then it sat its butt on the ground, spat out some mucus, and started fiddling with its small chest claws.

A moment later, Gegeda had produced a ”giant egg”. This giant egg was four to five meters tall and stood firmly on the ground. Its shell was pure white, but it was hollow inside and had an entrance.

”So this is an Eggshell House...”

Wang Yi’s eyes widened in amazement.

Gegeda knew [Nesting], and the skill had been enhanced four times!

He instantly understood that the ”giant egg” before him was the nest it had built. But clearly, it wasn’t a nest for itself—the Eggshell House couldn’t possibly fit its massive frame. It was, however, perfectly fine for people to live in.

Gegeda continued its work. Soon, right next to the first Eggshell House, it produced a second one.

For some unknown reason, this second Eggshell House was earthy-yellow and slightly larger than the first.

Gegeda didn’t stop, continuing to create a third Eggshell House, a fourth, and so on.

At this, not only were the surrounding villagers stunned, but even Wang Yi was left dumbfounded.

’This Combat Chicken is incredible! It’s a total construction fiend! From now on, I might as well just leave all the building to it. Tsk, tsk... these Eggshell Houses look really good!’

Wang Yi went forward to examine them and found that the Eggshell Houses were extremely sturdy. With a few minor modifications, like carving out a door and windows, they could be used as houses without any problem. Moreover, the interiors were spacious and comfortable. Once furnished, they would be far superior to the thatched-roof huts in Stone Village.
