Rising Shards

Excitement was in the air as we returned to the apartment. We set our bags of goodies down on the kitchen table before Stella began checking each room of the house.

”One second,” was all I got until she’d passed by everywhere, including the basement.

”Did you...misplace something?” I asked.

”Nah, just making sure Zeta didn’t make a surprise visit,” Stella said, grabbing the bags off the table. ”Not that she would without letting me know, and I don’t even know who’d drive her home, but just...wanted to make sure before we start loudly talking about shapeshifting dicks and whatnot.”

”Right, right,” I said. ”If she does need a night over suddenly for whatever reason, we can obviously save this for another day.”

”Of course, that was gonna be one of my ground rules,” Stella said. She took my hand and led me to our bedroom.

”Ground rules, huh?” I teased.

”I think it’s important to have some stuff in place when we try something new like this!” Stella said. ”I guess it’s not like we’re doing something too crazy, but it kind of feels like something we should go over the rules for, you know?”

”Agreed, we wanna have fun, but be comfortable too,” I said.

Stella pushed me onto the bed, setting our bags of pills and such on the side before she crawled toward me, eyes seductive as she pinned me down. A giggle escaped me, a full ”teeheehee” laugh that would have been more embarrassing to let out and actually have someone hear if I wasn’t so excited.

”So, my other requests for ground rules, or requests rather,” Stella said as she moved to lie down beside me. ”I was gonna say all that while straddling you but I think that might be a clash of moods. I don’t wanna kill the vibe before we even start, and I’m sorry you’re dating such a giant dweeb that has to talk things through instead of getting right to the fucking.”

”We get right to the fucking plenty, Stel,” I said. I was wound up and hyped for this, but that didn’t mean I’d ignore it when Stella needed to talk it through. ”Whatever things we gotta have to make it comfortable, just say so. And if you have to stop for any reason, just say so.”

Stella nodded, cuddling against me. ”Alright, alright...”

”So what else were you thinking for ground rules?” I asked.

”It might come out kind of dorky, but...” Stella tried to find the right words. ”I don’t know about you, but I just wanna make clear that I’m not really into doing any gender play here, whatever equipment I have I’m comfortable enough in my identity to say woman still, right? And while I am down for you to, uh, dick me down, I don’t want you to call yourself daddy out of nowhere or something. Like even with the dickage involved...can I keep saying dick? Is that annoying?”

”It’s fine with me,” I said.

”Kay, well, even with the dickage involved, I don’t want it to go that way. And I don’t want to do anything that makes it seem like junk equals gender identity, you know? It’s just parts at the end of the day.”

”It’s just parts at the end of the day,” I repeated, liking that one.

”And again, I know I’m risking killing the mood by being a huge dork, but...it’s important to me.” Stella said.

”I get it, one hundred percent,” I said, gently kissing her forehead.

”That was the main thing, you got anything?” Stella asked.

”I was thinking something along the same lines,” I said. ”If we have to stop and talk things out in the heat of the moment, too, just say so. We got our safe words, you know the drill.”

Stella hugged me. We were just halfway onto the bed, but it was comfy enough that we could probably fall asleep, which would be kind of funny after we went through all that at the pharmacy to get the pills. ”Imagine what it’d be like if we were a couple that just did things...”

Even if she didn’t outright say it a bit earlier I would have been able to tell she was feeling like she was being too much.

”Isn’t that how we first fucked though?” I asked. ”I think we have a good mix of spontaneous sex and the more planned out stuff. I like that we talk it out when we need to, I think we know when it’s talk it out sex and when it’s just fuck me time.”

”True, yeah,” Stella said. ”If you wanna get started, I’m ready now.”

”Alright,” I said, sitting up to get the bag of pills. With Stella more comfortable after talking it out, I felt ready to take the pill. It wasn’t the hugest deal, it probably wouldn’t even last the whole night, but any uncharted water like this we crossed I wanted us to be completely on the same page. ”Wait, I should get some water...”

I came back with a bottle and downed the pink pill.

”How long does it take to uh, grow the appendage?” Stella asked.

”Fifteen to thirty minutes, but it can take up to an hour,” I said. ”If it’s a dud, then we’ll just be sitting here for a while.”

”You’re maybe the cutest person who ever lived,” Stella said.

”Huh? For what?” I asked.

”You’re being super cute about this!” Stella said. ”Being so excited about fucking me like this...it’s sweet. You’re seriously the cutest.”

I crawled back into bed into my waiting partner’s arms. ”No way, I got way too much competition with you around,” I said.
