Reborn As Noble

Chapter 1425: A Shallow Cut and a Healing Glow ( 1425 )

At the same time.

Near Javier’s personal workshop.

Marcellus, Cedric, Aelius, and Javier were stunned, hearing how smooth Heres’s answer was to the ’simulation’.

A moment of silence hung in the air before everyone broke into applause.

”Wow.”

”That was smooth.”

”Damn, you have talent. Despite being the most silent among us.”

”Yeah, I agree with what little brother said. Heres, you really have a talent for this.”

Heres swiped his hair with a half-gesture, his hand pausing at his forehead as he flashed a charming grin. His eyes held a confident sparkle. ”Well... this is what confidence are about. I might not be the strongest among us, but in this~ heh~” He showed a thumb and finger, gesturing a small distance. ”Easy~”

Meanwhile, in Vurghen.

Emeline was stunned by his words, her heart racing hard, but before she could say anything, an enemy soldier who had been playing dead suddenly charged at her from behind.

Javier pointed at the screen in a rush, shouting to Heres. ”Heres! Enemy attack!”

”Wh... what? What weapon do I have?” Heres panicked, glancing at the screen.

Javier tossed the motion controller toward him. ”Mana gun! Two of them!”

’Heres’ rushed forward, pulling Emeline into a protective embrace as he turned his back toward the charging enemy. The enemy’s sword slashed across his back, leaving a shallow cut before Heres took one mana gun, struck the enemy’s jaw with the butt of the weapon, and fired a single shot straight into his head. The soldier was thrown backward, landing lifeless on the ground.

Emeline’s cheeks flushed, but her eyes widened in panic as she noticed the shallow cut on ’Heres’s’ back from where he had shielded her.

”You’re hurt! You’re bleeding!” she exclaimed, her voice filled with concern.

’Heres’ smiled gently, turning to face her with a charming, reassuring look. ”Don’t worry~” He placed a hand over the wound, a soft green light glowing from his palm as healing magic sealed the cut.

”I have healing magic. My wound wasn’t that deep. Besides, a small cut is a small price to pay for protecting someone as beautiful as you.”

He smiled before glancing at the man who had sat up not too far away.

”Err... little brother?” Heres glanced at Javier after looking at the screen.

Javier, who was watching Heres being immersed in the ’simulation’, glanced at him.

”Hmm?”

”Who is that guy?” Heres pointed toward the screen.

”Ah, that one? Her brother.”

”Oh... Wow... Your simulation thing really looks real. It’s like I’m watching a real scene.”

Javier smirked, exchanging glances with Marcellus, Cedric, and Aelius, who all gave knowing, sly smirks.

”So what should I do next?” Heres glanced at them, his expression curious.

Javier shrugged. ”Well, since this is a ’simulation’ designed to secure the target and bring them to safety, you should escort them to Armand.”

”Oh... how?”

Javier smirked, crossing his arms with a nod. ”Just tap the rune on the motion control panel. It’ll send a signal to the Pekko forces nearby. They’ll arrive within a few minutes. Healers and some Armand special squad units will also move in to cover the perimeter while you escort them to the forward base set up near the Armand northern border.”

Heres’s eyes lit up as he looked at the screen. ”Wooo... this is super nice. Man, if only you’d built this simulation long ago, I wouldn’t have been so bored all the time.” He paused, his gaze lingering on the screen. ”But man... that girl looks so real. Even the fight felt real, and the way she blushed, the way her voice trembled... it’s like I’m actually there.”

Marcellus leaned in, whispering to Javier’s ear. ”Oi! This was supposed to be your mission, right?”

Javier whispered back, a sly grin on his face. ”What? No~ My mission isn’t to secure the heir. My mission is to help the Vurghen region and the last heir take control and regain their territory. Besides, didn’t Father ask Heres before I stepped in? Hmm?”

Cedric chuckled softly, leaning in to whisper toward Javier. ”Still... this is your mission. You were supposed to head toward Vurghen and save not just the region but to meet the last heir of the Lurghen household, right?”

”There~ see? ’Meet,’ not save. But hey, praise me for being able to send ’Heres’ to save them and make him the hero. Besides, the mission was supposed to start tomorrow, but lucky I had a ’hunch’ about this situation and decided to check the Sky Eyes feed. Good thing I did, or they’d both be dead.”

”Yeah, right.” Marcellus smirked, his eyes glinting. ”A ’hunch.’ More like you were bored and spying on the border feeds again.”

Aelius joined the huddle, a knowing smirk spreading across his lips. ”Look at Heres. He’s enjoying it.”

They all turned their gazes toward the screen, watching Heres interact with Emeline, his posture confident, his voice smooth, and a genuine smile on his face.

”Heh~ I wonder what Kliatana’s reaction will be~” Marcellus gave a sly smirk.

Cedric let out a soft chuckle. ”All I know is I won’t be in that mess. But you, Javier...”

”What? No way I’m going to be in any mess because of this. Besides, we’re all in this together~”

Aelius shook his head, a warm smile on his face before glancing at Javier. ”Well... Kliatana is close to you, and for sure she’ll release all her anger toward you. Ah~ my little brother will be bald when Kliatana pulls his hair~”

Javier grinned, crossing his arms confidently. ”Heh~ Before she can find me, I’ll be leaving this estate tomorrow for the mission~”

”Wow, little brother! You even set the simulation with Fanjar and Lhagan in it!” Heres’s voice carried genuine excitement as he watched the familiar faces of Armand special forces arrive on their pekko, securing the perimeter with practiced precision. The healers moved swiftly, helping Friedrich who was now pale from the overwhelming relief of seeing Armand forces arrive to save them.

’Heres’ climbed onto the back of a massive pekko before slowly extending his hand toward Emeline.

”Well...” Marcellus smiled, patting Javier’s shoulder. ”Let’s leave Heres with his ’simulation.’”

”Yeah, now show us the ’demonstration’ you were going to show us before.”

”Ah, right.” Javier turned, rubbing his hands together. ”Well, since Heres is busy, Cedric, go make the dummy wear the clothes, the vest, and the helmet.”

Cedric blinked, pointing at himself. ”What? Me? Ugh! Why me?”

Javier let out a long, weary exhale. ”I’ll give you a pouch of gold coins after this. Come on.”

Cedric’s expression shifted into a grin. ”Alright. Since you’re offering a reward... well... sure~ Why not.”
