Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Meddle

”Luoluo, with the speed of your improvement, thereʼs absolutely no issue with us getting into the same university!” Just as Teacher Yang stepped out the door, Shangguan Yingnuo couldnʼt wait to start clamoring, her face bright as a blooming sunflower, beaming with joy.

Luo Ye smiled and lowered her head to look through her papers, quite satisfied with her grades. After all, having fallen behind for so many years, it was an unrealistic pipe dream to jump straight to the top of the rankings.

Tang Luo turned around, her features embodying the innocence of a little girl as she studied Luo Ye with great interest: ”Luoluo, you truly are a profound book thatʼs not easy to read!”

Yingnuo exaggeratedly held her fists together in salute: ”Tangtang, incredible, incredible, in just one... oh no, two days, youʼve turned into a literary youth, impressive! Impressive!”

Tang Luo waved her hand dismissively: ”Oh, shut it, you donʼt even understand what Iʼm saying, why the nonsense?” She then winked at Luo Ye.

”How do I not understand? Youʼre clearly captivated by my Luoluo!” Yingnuo wrapped an arm around Luo Yeʼs arm, show of dominance: ”Luoluo, ignore Tangtang, got it?”

”I need to use the bathroom!” Overwhelmed by their noise, Luo Ye claimed the excuse to escape, with Yingnuo quickly following: ”Me too!” ”And me!” Tang Luo followed suit as well.

”Birds of a feather, itʼs just the 18th place, whatʼs so great about that!” Zhong Chongmei finally had a moment to grumble. Listening to the trioʼs conversation was stifling for her.

Wang Shanshan glanced imperceptibly at Zhong Chongmei, a smile forming in her eyes, as her deskmate Yang Yan curled her lip: ”I donʼt quite understand, why would Shangguan Yingnuo and Tang Luo like that sloppy mess?”

”Donʼt gossip, everyone has their own style and preferences in dressing. Her improvement is indeed quite significant this time, you should be careful!”

Yang Yanʼs face was filled with disdain: ”What do I have to be careful about? Thereʼs still a six-rank difference, I donʼt believe she can advance another six places next time. Oh, right...” Yang Yan nudged Wang Shanshan: ”Did you notice that the students who used to dislike her seem to be a bit afraid of her now, why is that?”

”Afraid of her?” Wang Shanshanʼs eyes flickered with confusion: ”I didnʼt notice, why would they?”

”Itʼs true, Pan Fang, Zhang Jinyan, and those like Zhong Chongmei, Li Xiao, they used to take advantage of her when they could, but now they seem to deliberately make way for her, itʼs pretty strange!” Yang Yanʼs eyes brimmed with bewilderment.

”Really?...”

Wang Shanshan and Yang Yanʼs conversation clearly reached Wang Feng, seated behind them; he couldnʼt help but sigh inwardly. If they had seen what had happened that day, it wouldnʼt be possible not to fear her.

Even now, remembering Luo Yeʼs actions and her cold demeanor, he was still puzzled: could it be that itʼs true what they say, that the more reserved people are the scarier when they lose their temper?

...

”Whatʼs so great about bullying someone just because you have the numbers?”

”So weʼre bullying you, what about it? You know full well Wei Xinbo likes Princess Rong, yet you write him love letters, whatʼs your motive? Courting death by setting your sights on our Princess Rong!”

”Youʼre talking nonsense! I didnʼt!”

”No? Then what is this? Take a look for yourself!”

”...”

The quarreling voices in the restroom drew a crowd of girls outside, some to watch the excitement, others hesitated, not daring to enter.

Luo Ye listened for a bit, then moved forward to continue walking, while Yingnuo and Tang Luo stuck out their tongues, hurrying after her. They realized that Lady Luoʼs timidness suddenly ballooned into the boldness of a tiger, and it seems thereʼs nothing sheʼs afraid of anymore!

Tang Luo and Ying Nuo certainly didnʼt believe that Luo Ye hadnʼt recognized the speakers in there; they must have come together as a show of friendship and loyalty.

Princess Rong was a top student in second grade class one, her name being Wang Peirong. Since she started school, she had consistently ranked in the top three of the second grade. Petite and pretty, and especially with those big eyes and extremely long eyelashes that fluttered as if they could speak, her personality was gentle.

Typically, girls like her were the most likely to make others jealous. Strangely though, the girls in class one all really liked Wang Peirong. Not long after she started school, seven girls took it upon themselves to form the Flower Protection Team. The nickname Princess Rong was also coined by these seven girls.

It didnʼt matter whether it was boys or girls, if anyone did something to upset Princess Rong, the Flower Protection Team would immediately pounce and start a dispute. Unavoidably included were some mistakenly accused students, but any complaints brought to the teacherʼs attention always ended unresolved.

Over time, even the students who had been wrongly targeted could only rue their bad luck. This indulgence led the Flower Protection Team to evolve from simple protectors to being quite overbearing.

The girl being targeted was Pan Fang, with disheveled hair and several bleeding scratches on her face. Upon hearing someone enter, her eyes lit up, but when she saw who it was, the light in her eyes instantly faded. How ironic, wasnʼt this scene just like the ones she and Zhang Jinyan used to be a part of?

”Who let you in?” The leader of the Flower Protection Team, Tian Furong, frowned and looked displeased.

Luo Ye casually glanced at them: ”Is there a fee for entry?”

The second-in-command, Fang Qingping, was furious: ”I say... are you a deadbeat looking to get smacked or what?”

”Iʼm just here to use the bathroom, you all continue!” said Luo Ye with a laugh. ”As long as you get paid and do the job, thatʼs fine, but donʼt count on the boss to always protect you!”

”You... Humph!” Tian Furong led the way out, casually throwing out a line: ”Youʼd better size up whether youʼre qualified to meddle in new business!”

Luo Yeʼs lips curled into a smile: ”Ying Nuo, I think you should suggest to your dad to increase police presence in this area. Itʼs not favoritism; the school is unsafe!”

Ying Nuo nodded in agreement: ”My dad just said yesterday he was going to deploy more police forces to this area, and he also educated me not to bully my classmates, mentioning something about juvenile detention centers for committing assault. I didnʼt listen closely when he said it, do I look like someone who could bully others?”

The figures walking to the restroom door paused momentarily before continuing on. The three exchanged smiles. Pan Fang shambled over, stuttering: ”Thank you... Thank you all, I was like that before, and you still helped me. Thank you, Luo Ye. Thank you, Ying Nuo. Thank you, Tang Luo!”

Luo Ye stared at Pan Fang: ”You know what to do in the future, right?”

Pan Fang nodded vigorously like a pecking chicken: ”I know, I know. Iʼll regularly report my progress to Pan Hong and ensure she doesnʼt cause any trouble!”

Luo Ye waved her off, and Pan Fang ran out as if she had been granted amnesty.

On their way back to the classroom, Ying Nuo pouted: ”Luoluo, youʼre just too kind. After the way she treated you before, you shouldnʼt have helped her today!”

”Youʼre wrong, Luo Ye did the right thing!” Tangtang cleared her throat softly: ”Looking at what happened today, if no one had intervened, who knows how they would have bullied Pan Fang.

Luo Ye threatened Pan Fang last time, and she could bear it because she didnʼt suffer any real harm. What about this time? The Pan family has many brothers and sisters, and theyʼre known for sticking together.

Pan Fang would surely bring up Luo Yeʼs past actions to get her family involved. Just think about it...”
