Others Summon, I Forge Beast Armor

”The Hundred-Eyed Crow is the herald of the apocalypse, but what is the job of the Nine-Tailed Jackal?” Scarlett asked.

〖The Nine-Tailed Jackal is the Countermeasure of the apocalypse〗 Neo said. 〖Its appearance means the world has resisted enough, and it’s worth the prolonged process of the apocalypse. So...〗

”So, it built this Death Farm of defeated heroes to cultivate and harvest death energy from their corpses to sustain the apocalypse.

The Nine-Tailed Jackal helps the apocalypse fight a protracted war. Harvesting crop after crop, planting crop after crop,” Scarlett said after putting two and two together.

She picked up the reward that couldn’t be upgraded.

The item was bright. Strange. Irregularly shaped, its appearance unorthodox, yet valuable at first sight.

It resembled an ancient writing that was written in the air and solidified later.

The system displayed:

〖First Glyph of the Apocalypse〗

〖Note: This Glyph can only be used by Greater-grade summoners and above.〗

Greater-grade and above?

Thankfully, Scarlett is at the Mythic grade.

If there are more hurdles like this, it’s reassuring that as a Mythic-grade summoner, you won’t face any discrimination because Mythic-grade summoners are at the highest level and cannot have caps set.

If the ground opens, those at the bottom fall in first.

”If there’s a First Glyph, how many are there total?” Scarlett asked.

〖Seventeen Apocalypse Glyphs, in total〗Neo answered. 〖In this Black Sun Origin Realm, you can claim two of the seventeen. The other fifteen are elsewhere. You must be curious about what Glyphs are?〗

”Yes,” Scarlett said, ”but I guess they’re some conceptual structures that make up the Apocalypse itself, aren’t they?”

Neo replied:〖Exactly, Master Scarlett. Now, you have the Glyph of ’Heralding’ and ’Countermeasure’〗

〖Little by little, you could collect all seventeen glyphs. Though if you actually managed that, I’d be genuinely surprised〗

Scarlett thought for a moment and asked, ”So, having this glyph means I’ve stolen the concepts of ’Heralding’ and ’Countermeasure’ from the Apocalypse?”

〖Yes. These two concepts are now yours. For each glyph you take...〗 Neo said.

〖The glyphs are like removing the structure of the apocalypse. How do you get glyphs? By killing the beasts that carry glyphs〗

〖Not every beast has them. For example, the Hundred-Eyed Crow had no glyphs. But the Nine-Tailed Jackal does. The Nine-Tailed Jackal’s glyph also embodies the concept of the Hundred-Eyed Crow: Heralding.〗

〖So, don’t worry, you might kill five prehistoric beasts and get no glyph; then kill the sixth and get six concepts at once in one glyph. Such a thing will happen plenty.〗

”Thank you for informing me,” Scarlett said. ”I kill Prehistoric Beasts, I get Glyphs. Glyphs are the Apocalypse’s skeleton. The more I hold, the better I understand how to take the Apocalypse apart. Got it.”

Scarlett took a deep breath.

Was this the answer? Had she found a way?

Absolutely!

Now all that’s left is to find the second Glyph in the Black Sun Origin Realm.

Currently, she is the first human to possess an Apocalypse Glyph.

And what she can do with it cannot be fathomed.

However, Scarlett realized late that holding a Glyph was synonymous with being a monster-magnet.

The monsters all came from the apocalypse. If you’re carrying a bone from the apocalypse, how could they not come looking for you?

It’s like stealing something. They smell it and come chasing you.

Without a good technique for exorcising monsters, you’ll be fighting monsters every day for the rest of your life, with no peace and quiet.

Fortunately, this is the Black Sun Origin Realm.

With Infinite Aeon and Rapid Recovery, the monsters coming to reclaim the Glyph were manageable.

They can’t be 100% defeated, and you can’t kill all. All you have to do is drag on the conflict. You can’t lose, you can’t win, it’s endless.

In the first hour after getting the First Glyph, Scarlett and Neo killed a hundred monsters.

The killing spree terrified them. From then on, they were always on high alert.

Not long after, a Camp relieved them of this siege.

Upon entering the Camp, Scarlett laid out all the task rewards.

〖Task: Clear the Death Farm, kill the Nine-Tailed Jackal, and take its Glyph.〗

The rewards from the Death Farm were just like the rewards from the Blood Castle. Evolution Crystals, Beast Rations, Potions—etectera.

Scarlett sat down and began to meditate while Neo stood guard near her, also fascinated by how she cultivated.

While regulating her breathing, Scarlett used her talent ”Refinement” to upgrade the items.

Seven Evolution Crystals increased tenfold.

Eleven evolution crystals increased between twenty and ninety times.

Two evolution crystals increased a hundredfold.

Other rewards, like Monster Cores, increased at roughly the same ratio. But what Scarlett valued most were the Evolution Crystals because they were most important to strengthen her partner, the once Martian Frog.

With so many crystals, Scarlett may evolve Neo to the Sky-Swallowing Toad in the blink of an eye.

Just think, collecting crystals and leveling up all the way, who can match that evolution speed? What takes others years to master, she can do in a day. There’s nothing in this world that can’t be accomplished.

Over on his side, Neo was overjoyed as all crystals belonged to him.

Not long after, he broke through Lesser-tier and entered Greater-tier.

A Greater-tier beast, chronologically on par with the Hundred-Eyed Crow and the Nine-Tailed Jackal?

This mere frog!

Previously, it was just a Martian frog, brightly colored and looking restless. Now, it was another race called: the Temple Energy Toad.

Scarlett also allocated more attribute points to Neo, whose size also increased again, standing upright, and his forehead could touch Scarlett’s.

Simultaneously, Scarlett also got some level up notifications, although she wasn’t interested in leveling up herself.

〖You have gained 3,000 experience points.〗

〖Congratulations, you’ve reached level 35!〗

A level is just a number.

What she wanted was true strength, not just numbers.
