One-Eyed Monster

The Shadow Ghost’s narrative left Kuyi Tulan in waves of astonishment, he hadn’t expected the process to be like this. This process was neither too complicated, nor too simple.

Kuyi Tulan initially thought the Shadow Ghost would have a very complex past, he even believed the Shadow Ghost belonged to another world.

But now it seemed, the Shadow Ghost was just an ordinary passionate youth who had been baptized by darkness.

It wasn’t really complicated, yet the process was so incredible, and reaching this stage wasn’t an easy matter.

Especially after Kuyi Tulan figured out that the Shadow Ghost had a dual nature, he felt even more compelled to delve deeper.

He had no interest in the Great Harmony World or that king.

What interested him was the Spirit World.

What he wanted was that feeling of conquest.

This feeling was irresistible to him.

”Now that you’ve arrived here, have you found what you were looking for?” Kuyi Tulan felt that now he had to replace this Shadow Ghost. He must devour this Shadow Ghost and become the new Shadow Ghost.

After listening for such a long time, he felt he absolutely could replace this Shadow Ghost. The key was this dual nature, which was the characteristic of the Shadow Ghost and also its greatest weakness.

”I’ve always gained nothing!” the Shadow Ghost lamented, aware that such laments were to his disadvantage, but he couldn’t help it.

”Is what you seek really so hard to obtain? Didn’t you say everything in this world was at your fingertips?” Kuyi Tulan continued to guide, engaging in a psychological battle. Although the opponent was a millennia-old demon, their mind was never that complete, that was Kuyi Tulan’s initial impression.

No matter how united two people are, there are always slight differences, and such differences can affect unity without being noticed. In Kuyi Tulan’s eyes, the current Shadow Ghost was not a united entity, their joint action was merely because of their similar goals.

Once there was a difference in the goal, this divergence would be infinitely magnified.

Upon magnification, the two entities of the Shadow Ghost would engage in endless resistance. This resistance could be fatal.

This fatality is what Kuyi Tulan had been pursuing. Once he found this gap, he could slip in.

Now Kuyi Tulan was stirring muddy waters, he wanted to make the divergence grow. Keep stretching it. So, he was converging towards the youthful, innocent-faced boy. The breakthrough point lay within this innocent-faced boy, and Kuyi Tulan could feel it.

As long as he could earlier stimulate their nerves, the divergence would grow. Their tacit understanding of being you in me and me in you would evolve into something else. Kuyi Tulan wanted them to become adversaries, into a state where it’s either you without me or me without you.

Thus, he kept on inducing, something he was quite adept at.

”I don’t know, why exactly I came here!” Currently, the Shadow Ghost was controlled by the Spirit, but the Spirit also began to have confused thoughts. Because their actions had always been strange, except for this pursuit of the youthful, innocent-faced boy, no one else could know what was going on.

Kuyi Tulan thought, everything was changing as he had expected, which he was very pleased to see. Moreover, he always felt that after returning, he should thoroughly explore Xiso. He felt Xiso could deduce this part with considerable depth, and there were many things about this guy worth digging into.

”You came here to find yourself, to allow yourself to return to your previous pure state!”

”How could it be, that was a weakling!”

”No, that wasn’t a weakling, that was a true strong one. Only those who persist in being themselves are strong!” Kuyi Tulan continued to guide. Now he needed to create a divergence in this Shadow Ghost.

Perhaps with his power alone, it was improbable to completely destroy this Shadow Ghost, after all, there was a millennial strength gap. The Shadow Ghost was always stronger than him in the use of energy. But he could take advantage. He made the dual nature of the Shadow Ghost reveal itself fully, then burst into conflict, letting them duel against each other, and then he could step in to reap the benefits.

This was a very good plan, Kuyi Tulan was a bit impatient to see what the duel of the Shadow Ghost would look like.

”Those without power are always weak, this is beyond doubt. So many years, this is how I have been... No, those who can’t even preserve themselves are weak. Such power isn’t worth having!”

Clearly, Kuyi Tulan’s plan had already taken effect, and the Shadow Ghost’s incoherence said it all.

This is how the dispute begins.

”Wherever and whenever, always remember who you are, only then can you maintain the true self, thus is eternal life!” The Spirit of the Shadow Ghost was now suppressed, he temporarily could not express his own views.

”But without power, remembering yourself is useless. Apart from yourself knowing your name, no one will recognize who you are!” Kuyi Tulan reinforced the Spirit, directly stating this reason.

This reminder directly revived the Spirit, he confidently said: ”If you continuously maintain your own form, then you won’t persist, you’re just one person, incapable of eternal life, my power offered you this opportunity!”

”It’s also your power that made him forget being himself, made him abandon himself!” Kuyi Tulan’s instigation was quite effective.

”All these years, I have never occupied another human’s body, I just want to find myself again, to be myself, no one should stop me!”

The dual nature of the Shadow Ghost now completely exploded, this was where the divergence came in, this was where the problem lay.

”All these years of devouring spirits, is it for this reason, is it because you can’t forget your feeble body! I’m telling you, you truly are beyond saving, if I couldn’t break free from this equation, I would have abandoned you long ago!”

Shadow Ghost was quarreling, yet this quarrel indeed emerged from one voice, this voice sometimes soared, sometimes low-pitched, but was always full of power.

This was the result Kuyi Tulan desired, his plan was almost perfect. He could slowly enjoy this moment now.

Soon enough, he could fully enter this conversation because he was the one being devoured, his presence would disturb the entire Shadow Ghost.

Because he could completely become a substitute!
