Not Being a Trainer This Time

”At that time, you can download the app data via the internet and install them on your phone.”

Naoki nodded, as he was checking the scanning feature of the Pokedex.

Adjusting the camera, he aimed it at the Cyclizar nearby.

In the next second, an electronic voice automatically sounded.

”Cyclizar, the mount Pokemon, can carry people at a speed of 120 km/h, utilizing human body heat to warm its back and restore energy. It seems to have allowed humans to ride on its back since ancient times, as depicted in thousand-year-old murals.”

Hearing that voice, Naoki immediately flipped over the Rotom Phone and, unsurprisingly, found Rotom’s pattern on its back.

”It already contains a Rotom inside. If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can ask it. You can consider Rotom as smart AI; it will introduce the Pokedex to you, report the weather, and provide navigation. If you don’t need it, you can directly tell Rotom to stop the broadcast.”

Saying this, Nikar seemed a bit troubled.

Naoki was slightly puzzled and asked, ”What’s wrong?”

Nikar: ”I just don’t understand why the Rotom inside the phone seldom communicates with humans like the Rotom Pokedex; most of the time it only uses voice broadcast.”

Naoki thought carefully and realized it’s the same in anime; he didn’t know the reason, either.

But rather than this matter, he was more curious about another issue.

”How many Rotom Phones did you produce in the first batch?”

Nikar replied, ”About one hundred thousand! However, not every phone has a Rotom inside, as we couldn’t capture that many Rotoms.”

Naoki nodded in understanding.

Smartphones without Rotom wouldn’t lack functions, but they just couldn’t do voice broadcast and real-time navigation.

In that sense, the Phone Rotom inside seems exactly like smart AI such as Xiao Ai and Xiao Du.

”Is there anything else you’d like to know?” Nikar said with a smile, ”Thanks to you, the Rotom Phone could be launched, helping our company secure such a large market. If there’s anything you want, just say it, as long as I can make it happen!”

However, Naoki didn’t have anything particular he wanted, nor was he short of money.

After a brief contemplation, Naoki asked, ”Can I pre-order a batch of Rotom Phones from your company?”

He planned to hand these Rotom Phones to the Pokemon at the ranch.

For instance, Calyrex, Giratina, the Heroic Expedition Team travelling outside, and the Dragonites.

With Rotom Phones, Dragonite Delivery could officially be established.

Through the phone’s positioning and navigation, goods from Naoki Ranch could be delivered all over Paldea, fulfilling his initial dream.

Moreover, he could stay in touch with the traveling Mew and Teddiursa via video conferencing anytime and anywhere.

”Of course, no problem!” Nikar said with a smile, ”How many do you want? I’ll send them over right after I return!”

Naoki tallied in his mind the number of Pokemon needing Rotom Phones, then said, ”Fifty units.”

”Alright, no problem!” Nikar readily agreed; he planned to pick out 50 Rotom Phones featuring Rotom to send over.

Additionally, Nikar’s visit to the ranch today had another purpose.

He wanted to discuss with Naoki the types and development of future mobile application markets.

Naoki, though a bit surprised, still introduced the information he knew to Nikar.

For example, online shopping, mobile drama watching, live streaming, video conferencing, software for news from around the world, and apps for chatting and making friends with people from different regions.

Preferably something simple and direct, like WeChat.

He could conveniently create an account for Mew, Teddiursa, Calyrex, Giratina and add all the Legendary Beasts to a group.

Nikar listened attentively, occasionally his eyes lighting up.

He had a hunch, if these apps truly came to be, they would connect the entire world!

And the internet industry would officially stride into a new era!
