Naruto: Max Skill With One Click

Chapter 137: MSOC: Chapter 137

The ethereal voice, devoid of emotion, brought a hint of a smile to Kai’s lips. He’d initially thought obtaining this Six Paths Tool wouldn’t be immediately useful, requiring extensive training before he could wield it effectively. It would have been a useless item to him. He hadn’t expected the ”one-button max level” system to also instantly max proficiency.

”Max it now.”

Kai didn’t hesitate, issuing the command.

”Ding! Please wait...”

”Ding! Congratulations, host. One-button max level successful. Six Paths Tool, Banana Palm Fan proficiency maxed.”

A warm current flowed through Kai’s mind. His previously hazy understanding of the Banana Palm Fan instantly became crystal clear. Even his previously erratic chakra flow now perfectly harmonized with the fan.

Kai exhaled, his gaze fixed on the rapidly spreading flames. He clenched his right hand and swung the Banana Palm Fan towards the inferno.

Boom!

The air roared, ripples distorting the space before him. He felt the Banana Palm Fan consuming a tenth of his chakra.

A massive surge of water-style chakra erupted, forming a towering wave that crashed down upon the flames with overwhelming force.

The sudden spectacle sent shockwaves through everyone present. They scrambled to escape, holding their breath, fearing for their lives. The wave was as deadly as the fire had been.

”Konan-sama, we should escape quickly,” Kuraki said, his face pale with a mixture of fear and anxiety. He’d been disrespectful to Kai earlier and feared retribution.

Konan hesitated, glancing at Kai’s back before finally turning and fleeing.

Outside, a deafening roar echoed as the earth trembled. The tattooed guards at the entrance were startled, then realized something was wrong. They turned to see the stone door shattered by the wave.

Boom!

The massive doors, weighing hundreds of pounds, were flung aside. The wave surged upwards like a volcanic eruption, sweeping away the unprepared guards. Ninjas inside the black market were also swept out; those skilled in water techniques and using supplementary jutsu fared better. Others, caught off guard, inhaled large quantities of water and fell unconscious.

The massive wave receded, leaving five or six figures, drenched, clinging to a nearby tree.

”Konan-sama, don’t look back. We’ve already wasted too much time. That bounty is crucial. We need to hurry and complete the mission,” Kuraki urged anxiously.

Konan hesitated, biting her lip before nodding and fleeing.

After they left, the wave subsided, leaving behind a scene of utter devastation. Many, battered and bruised, struggled to their feet, their bitter expressions turning towards the black market entrance. They watched as Kai emerged, the Banana Palm Fan in his hand, a burning desire flickering in their eyes.

”With a single swing, it unleashed water-style power rivaling S-rank jutsu. No wonder the auctioneer praised it so highly. If I had it, few in the shinobi world could stand against me,” a ninja muttered, his eyes gleaming with avarice.

But before he could dwell on the thought, he received a stinging slap from a companion.

”Are you crazy? Do you want to die? Don’t drag us down with you! Someone who can kill jōnin so easily isn’t someone we can mess with!”

”Stop dreaming. Let’s go! If that killer decides to target us, we’re doomed.”

The others paled. Those still harboring greedy thoughts quickly fled.

The once bustling black market was instantly deserted. Even the black market members, after casting fearful glances at Kai and Kakuzu, quickly escaped.

”Boss, it seems the girl you liked has left,” Kakuzu said coldly, surveying the area. His gaze fell upon the Banana Palm Fan. ”But your judgment is sharp. You recognized the fan’s potential. That wave... even I felt threatened.”

”Boss, you didn’t use its full power, did you?”

Kai paid Kakuzu’s curiosity little mind. The fan had cost over twenty-seven million ryō. Even though he hadn’t paid out of pocket, if the fan’s power hadn’t exceeded expectations, it would have felt like a hefty price indeed.

”Only half its power, but it consumed a tenth of my chakra,” Kai said, storing the Banana Palm Fan in his ninja tool scroll. It was excellent, but carrying it around was too ostentatious. The high chakra consumption made him even more eager to obtain the First Hokage’s cells from Orochimaru. Absorbing them would awaken his Rinnegan, drastically increasing his chakra reserves and power.

”Only half its power?” Kakuzu was surprised. The water jutsu had been comparable to his full-power attack. If that was only half, the full power would be terrifying. But the chakra cost made him reconsider trying it. Besides, Kakuzu wasn’t stupid. The fan had been in the black market for a long time. If its true power were known, no one would willingly give it up. Something was needed to unlock the fan’s true potential, something only this enigmatic youth seemed capable of.

”Many have large chakra reserves, you included, but you’ll find some are practically human-shaped tailed beasts,” Kai said, patting Kakuzu’s shoulder.

”Let’s go. The longer we stay away from Konoha, the more trouble we’ll attract.”
