Chapter 111: MSOC: Chapter 111

”Hmph, it’s wartime. The Uchiha clan and the police force must be ready at any moment. If even you, a member of the clan, don’t support us, how can we expect outsiders to?” Uchiha Rō shouted angrily.

His shout drew attention from nearby merchants and passersby.

They watched the Uchiha’s infighting with amusement. The merchants who had just been extorted were particularly gleeful, some even cursing under their breath.

”Please, have mercy! It’s wartime. We’re lucky to have food. If I pay this 10,000-ryō security fee, my daughter will starve,” Hazuki pleaded urgently.

”Damn it! You said you couldn’t pay, and now you can? Are you against the Uchiha police force?” Uchiha Rō shouted angrily.

”Everyone’s watching. This discourages our police force and damages our reputation. I’ll give you one last chance. If you don’t pay, we’ll take it ourselves.”

The police officers became menacing.

Hazuki’s face turned pale. She pleaded, ”Uchiha Rō, for my husband’s sake—he worked with you—can you give me another month? My daughter needs tuition. I really can’t afford it...”

Hazuki took a few steps back, leaning against the door.

Uchiha Rō’s face was grim. Hearing the laughter and seeing the stares, a cruel look flashed in his eyes. He shouted, ”Fine! You dare obstruct me? We’ll take it ourselves! As an Uchiha, you dare break the rules. This is a disgrace to our clan!”

Uchiha Rō reached for Hazuki.

”No!” Hazuki’s face turned white.

She was an ordinary person, running a small shop because she lacked ninja skills. Not everyone was like Might Guy and his son, pushing their taijutsu to the limit.

She was trapped, facing the menacing police officers.

”Don’t touch my mother!”

A childish shout rang out.

Four shuriken shot from the left street.

Uchiha Rō and the others were startled. No one dared attack the police force in Konoha.

But seeing this clumsy attack, they drew their kunai, deflecting the shuriken.

Seeing the eight or nine-year-old girl standing before Hazuki, Uchiha Rō’s face darkened. He’d been repeatedly obstructed. This was humiliating.

”Mom, are you alright?” Uchiha Izumi grabbed Hazuki’s hand, asking anxiously.

Before Hazuki could answer, Uchiha Rō’s angry shout echoed.

”Damn brat! You dared attack the police force in public! That’s treason! Seize her!”

Two Uchiha reached for Uchiha Izumi.

Hazuki panicked, hugging Izumi. ”No, you’ve misunderstood! Izumi didn’t mean to offend you. Please forgive her. I’ll pay you.”

”Mom, no! I can fight! I’m in the Ninja Academy! I can protect you, like Dad,”

Uchiha Izumi broke free, her eyes brightening as she saw the approaching Uchiha.

”Itachi... help me...”

Uchiha Itachi’s excellence in the Ninja Academy was renowned, making him a target for many, including Uchiha Izumi.

But Itachi hesitated. In Kai’s memories, Itachi was a confirmed bachelor, indifferent even when Uchiha Izumi was killed by Uchiha Obito during the clan massacre. Itachi was fiercely protective of his younger siblings.

”She’s asking for your help. Aren’t you going to help her?” Kai said with interest.

Itachi paused, looking at the police officers approaching Izumi. He shook his head. ”Father said to avoid conflict with clan members. As the eldest son, I must set an example.”

”Oh really?” Kai rolled his eyes. ”I don’t have so many rules.”

”Izumi, you mean Fugaku’s genius son? He doesn’t want to help...” Hazuki had heard Izumi mention Itachi.

Seeing Itachi remain motionless, Hazuki’s face fell. Uchiha Fugaku was the police captain. If he didn’t control his men, what about his son?

”He... he disappeared! Mom, that man’s gone!” Uchiha Izumi’s pupils contracted.

As she shouted, Uchiha Rō and the others paused, and an unexpected figure appeared before Hazuki and Izumi.

”Wow, the police are scary,” Kai smiled playfully.

His right foot, like an iron whip, wreathed in lightning, swept towards the two Uchiha.

This sudden action shocked everyone.

The two police officers instinctively blocked.

Crack!

Bang!

A dull thud, followed by the sound of shattering bones, sent chills down their spines.

The two figures flew like cannonballs, crashing into trees tens of meters away, snapping them in half.

They spat blood and fainted.

Everyone’s faces turned pale. A figure bathed in lightning, a warm smile on his face, appeared before them. A rumor echoed in their minds.

”It’s... it’s the Blood-Red Asura, Uchiha Kai!” someone shouted.

This made Hazuki and Uchiha Izumi tense. After the Hokage Building incident, the Third Hokage had issued a gag order, but Uchiha Kai’s infamy, fueled by Danzō, had turned him into a demon. Konoha feared him.

However, this was recent, and Kai rarely appeared in public, so few recognized him.
