Chapter 120: MSOC: Chapter 120

”Tsunade!” Jiraiya’s voice grew serious. If medical ninjutsu healed, this medicinal cuisine was transformative! It could fundamentally change the strength of ordinary people, ninjas, and even the village.

For a village, medicinal cuisine had a far greater impact than medical ninjutsu.

”Jiraiya, I know how terrifying this medicinal cuisine is. Don’t forget, I’m a medical ninja,” Tsunade said sternly.

Since Asuma’s death, this was the first thing that had piqued her interest, especially the creator, Teuchi’s teacher.

”This must not be spread,” Jiraiya nodded seriously, looking at Teuchi.

”Teuchi, we want to meet your teacher. Someone who can create this medicinal cuisine is crucial to Konoha’s rise.”

”Jiraiya, let’s go ourselves. Someone who can seamlessly blend medicine and food must be an elder. A personal visit shows Konoha’s sincerity,” Tsunade said suddenly.

She was intensely interested in this alternative medical approach.

Jiraiya agreed.

”I’ll inform the Hokage. Teuchi, don’t reveal this medicinal cuisine. You have a huge responsibility for Konoha’s future.”

”Haha!”

Teuchi’s sudden laughter surprised Tsunade and Jiraiya.

”I knew you’d react like this. The Hokage was there when the teacher was cooking.”

”Do you think I discovered this alone? It’s all the Hokage’s work!”

The Third Hokage emerged from the kitchen, holding the medicinal cuisine recipe Kai had given him.

Tsunade snatched the recipe, her shock growing as she read it.

”Teacher, who created this? I want to meet him!”

Combining herbs and food wasn’t difficult. The challenge was maximizing the flavor and medicinal properties, creating delicious food.

”Haha, even Tsunade is interested. I won’t keep you in suspense,” the Third Hokage chuckled dryly. ”This medicinal cuisine is Uchiha Kai’s creation.”

His quiet words stunned Tsunade and Jiraiya. They expected an elderly expert to have created something so profound. It was unbelievable that a teenager had created it.

”I knew you wouldn’t believe me,” the Third Hokage chuckled helplessly.

”If I hadn’t seen him cook and write down the recipe, giving it to Teuchi casually, I wouldn’t believe it either.”

Tsunade fell silent. She’d criticized Kai for not being worthy of Hokage, but considering his strength and contribution, few in the shinobi world could compare.

”Teacher, I want to meet Kai,” Tsunade said after a moment’s hesitation.

Jiraiya was surprised. Tsunade had previously dismissed Kai. This was a complete change.

”I understand, but things are volatile. Don’t meet him yet. I’ve assigned him a mission. We’ll see the results soon,” the Third Hokage said.

Tsunade’s expression changed, but she nodded.

”Then I’ll study this recipe.”

Tsunade took the recipe and went into Ichiraku Ramen’s kitchen.

The Third Hokage sighed apologetically to Teuchi.

”Jiraiya, any news from Mount Myōboku?” the Third Hokage asked urgently about Kai learning senjutsu.

”Not yet. Those toads only act when the Great Toad Sage senses something. They rarely take initiative,” Jiraiya sighed. He could use Reverse Summoning, but he couldn’t leave now.

”Alright. Hopefully, Danzō will behave after this. I suspect Kai kept him alive for a reason,” the Third Hokage sighed.

”Leave the medicinal cuisine recipe to you and Tsunade. I’ve classified it as a forbidden technique. Don’t reveal it.”

”I’ll go arrange tomorrow’s mission. I have a lot on my plate these days.”

The Third Hokage left.

Jiraiya wasn’t surprised the recipe was classified as forbidden. It could increase the village’s, and even the shinobi world’s, strength significantly. Kai wouldn’t have imagined the impact of his casual act.

The Naruto world differed from Earth. The natural energy amplified the herbs’ effects.

The next morning, sunlight bathed Konoha.

Kai stretched and opened his door. He was staying at Uchiha Fugaku’s house for convenience, but Fugaku was worried he’d cause more trouble.

”Kai, you’re up early. Itachi went to school early today. I hope he’s not using a shadow clone,” Uchiha Mikoto placed breakfast on the table, smiling.

”It’s the upperclass graduation exam today...”

She’d heard about yesterday’s events, but knew what to ask and what not to.

”Thank you, Auntie!” Kai took the breakfast, politely replying. As he picked up a piece of bread, a dark figure landed in the courtyard.

”Kai, I’m an Anbu under the Hokage. This is your mission scroll.”

The Anbu disappeared after giving Kai the scroll.

Uchiha Fugaku was startled by the Anbu’s sudden appearance but was relieved it was just a mission delivery. Lately, anything had him worried.
