My Talent Skill Mutated

”A flare! Someone’s calling for help!”

Chen Yu and the others tensed as they watched the green firework bloom in the sky.

Firing a flare for help could only mean that someone was under attack by a powerful aberrant beast or besieged by a large number of them.

”East of the city!”

As the light from the flare faded, Chen Yu and the others all turned to look in the same direction.

The flare had been fired from only one or two kilometers away.

”This is the First Squad, requesting immediate support. We’re under siege by a large number of half-mechanical aberrant beasts. Coordinates are southeast of the ruined city, at the flare’s launch point...”

A frantic voice came through the radio communicator on their wrists.

Half-mechanical aberrant beasts!

It was those squid monsters!

Hearing the distress call over the radio, they immediately understood.

Half-mechanical aberrant beasts—that had to be the squid monsters, no doubt about it.

The First Squad... that was Duan Feng’s team!

A thought flashed through Chen Yu’s mind.

Duan Feng was in the First Squad.

”Fifth Squad has received the call. We’re on our way to provide support!” Cai Kun was the first to react, replying over the comms immediately.

”Captain Cai, I’ll go on ahead.”

Chen Yu said.

He wouldn’t be this rushed for anyone else, but Duan Feng was different.

’He’s one of us!’

He was the one who had guided him into the Mercenary Team.

He didn’t want Duan Feng to die in the Abyssal Realm.

”Okay.” Cai Kun didn’t argue. He knew Chen Yu could fly, which meant he was indeed the fastest.

Chen Yu said no more. His Biological Force Field enveloped him as Power erupted from his legs.

SWOOSH—!

Empowered by his Biological Force Field, Chen Yu shot into the sky like a spiraling cannonball, soaring hundreds of meters high before speeding toward the flare’s location.

”Let’s move out!” Cai Kun said, unleashing his full power and racing toward the flare’s location.

An Ran and Meng Li quickly followed, disappearing from the entrance of the industrial park in the blink of an eye.

...

In a street in the ruined city, several figures were sprinting for their lives.

Behind them, a pack of terrifying monsters pursued them at incredible speed.

Their mechanical tentacles thrashed about as they closed in from both sides.

BOOM—!

As they sprinted, Duan Feng saw the mechanical squid monsters closing in and immediately threw his last three grenades.

Flames erupted, and a powerful shockwave tore through the street, blasting apart brickwork and sending shrapnel flying.

Several mechanical squids were immediately sent flying.

However, the grenades only held them back for a moment.

The explosion only further enraged the remaining mechanical squids, which let out furious screeches.

ZING ZING ZING!!!

Dozens of red beams shot out, sweeping across the area.

Although the four-person team avoided a direct hit, the destructive force of the beams still sent a shockwave through them, making them cough up blood.

”Duan Feng, put me down. I can buy you guys some time.”

Lola was injured and being carried on Duan Feng’s back. Hearing her, Duan Feng’s face twisted with anger. ”Bullshit! You’re my woman! I will never abandon you!”

A bitter smile appeared on Lola’s dust-covered face.

”Don’t lose hope! I already called for backup. As long as I’m here, you won’t die!” Duan Feng continued his desperate sprint.

Lola said nothing, slowly closing her eyes.

ZING—!

No sooner had he spoken than several red beams shot past them. With a flash of dark shadows, three mechanical squids appeared, blocking their path.

Duan Feng skidded to a halt, his expression sinking.

SCREECH!!

The mechanical squids let out a bizarre screech as dozens of metallic tentacles lashed out from all sides.

’We’re finished!’

Duan Feng’s heart sank as despair washed over him. Just as he was about to unleash all his Qi to defend...

FWOOSH—!

A torrent of blue, frosty energy swept down from the sky. The air temperature plummeted, and a thick layer of white frost bloomed in an instant, freezing the three mechanical squids solid!

BOOM!

Immediately after, a powerful wave of blade energy descended from the sky, shattering the three frozen mechanical squids.

A figure appeared before them.

”Chen Yu!”

Joy spread across Duan Feng’s face at the sight of the newcomer.

”Captain Duan, get Captain Luo somewhere safe to recover. Leave this to me!” Chen Yu grinned.

A wave of warmth washed over them as they saw the smile on Chen Yu’s face.

Duan Feng nodded silently and hurried on.

Just then, the other two members of his squad reached him.

Chen Yu didn’t waste words. Seeing the mechanical squids advancing, he thrust out his palms.

WHIIIIRRR!!!

The next second, a ten-meter-tall blue storm appeared out of thin air.

An aura of extreme cold enveloped the entire street, as if they had been plunged into an Ice Hell.

!!!

The pupils of the two team members contracted as they stared at the ten-meter-tall blue Frost Storm.

RUMBLE!!!

With a forward thrust of his palms, the blue storm swept directly toward the dozens of mechanical squids.

The mechanical squids were frozen solid wherever it passed!

The mechanical squids further back were sent flying by the storm’s powerful wake, smashing through the walls lining the street.

The destructive power was astonishing!

’How did his Skill get so powerful!’

Watching this scene, Duan Feng’s eyes widened.

’Chen Yu’s Skill wasn’t this powerful last time. How could he have improved so astonishingly since we last met?!’

’I doubt even a Level 4 Martial Artist could withstand the power of this Skill!’

An entire street was instantly encased in ice. Over a dozen squid monsters were frozen solid, and while those further back weren’t completely frozen, they were still severely impacted.

SHIING!

His combat blade hummed as he infused it with Qi. Chen Yu leaped into the air and struck with a single slash.

Gale Knife Skill!

A four-to-five-meter-long wave of blade energy swept out, slicing the frozen squid monsters in half.

Three slashes in quick succession, and waves of blade energy crisscrossed the battlefield!

The dozen or so frozen squid monsters were utterly annihilated!

ZING ZING ZING!!!

The remaining squid monsters unleashed a volley of red beams, but Chen Yu’s figure flickered and he precisely dodged every single one. Weaving between the attacks, he closed the distance and appeared before the remaining mechanical squids.

SWISH—!

The air tore with a swish as several red crescents materialized, striking at the squid monsters from different directions.

CRACKLE!!

Sparks flashed as blinding bolts of lightning struck the squid monsters.

A volley of Wind Blades sliced through the air, also heading for the squid monsters.

Cai Kun and the others had arrived.

They attacked with their full power without a word.

”So this is the power of the Awakened!!!”

Duan Feng and his team were awestruck by the scene.

Their coordinated assault completely overwhelmed the menacing squid monsters!

They knew the Awakened were powerful, but they had rarely seen them in action.

This time, it was a real eye-opener.

The vanguard of humanity is the Awakened!

Only then come the Martial Artists!

An Awakened with a powerful Skill can crush an ordinary Martial Artist with their ability alone.

At the same level, they are practically invincible!

Seeing it with their own eyes, they couldn’t help but be impressed.

HUMMM—!

Taking advantage of the moment the squid monsters were suppressed, Chen Yu leaped into the air again. He thrust his palms forward, and a blue light flared.

Extreme Cold Storm appeared!

With overwhelming force, it froze ninety percent of the squid monsters solid.

He grabbed a massive, ten-meter chunk of rubble with one hand. His Biological Force Field erupted, and he hurled it like a meteor.

RUMBLE!!!

The frozen mechanical squids were smashed to pieces.

SWOOSH—!

His figure flashed, and Chen Yu vanished. He charged at extreme speed, combining his attacks with his Freezing Skill in a display of complete dominance.

Cai Kun and the other two weren’t idle either, attacking with all their might.

The four of them had developed a great deal of synergy, their Skills complementing each other to unleash even more astonishing power.

The number of squid monsters dwindled at a visible rate.

’It seems the Qing City Mercenary Team won’t be able to hold on to him...’

Duan Feng thought to himself as he watched the scene unfold.

’Chen Yu’s strength has already reached this level.’

’Barring any accidents, a small place like the Qing City Safety Zone definitely won’t be able to contain him.’

’The Superpower Academy is where he’s headed.’

’Heh heh, I guess I’m pretty lucky. In the future, I’ll have a powerful Awakened as a friend.’

As his thoughts shifted, a smile reappeared on Duan Feng’s face.

”Ahem... Could you maybe put me down now?”

Lola’s voice piped up.

”...”
