Chapter 70: The emissary arives

The ocean emperor’s body was no longer a threat. After the final battle, its massive corpse was cut into countless pieces. Even then, cooking it wasn’t easy. Normal fire couldn’t even warm its flesh, let alone cook it.

So Dragon, the Fire Elemental Emperor, stepped forward. He raised both hands, and blinding flames burst out, hotter than the core of a volcano. For hours, the fire wrapped around the mountain-sized chunks of octopus meat. Its smell spread across hundreds of miles. When the meat finally softened and steamed rose into the blue sky, people knew—this was a feast no one in history had ever seen.

The news spread everywhere. A message was broadcast to every corner of Earth: The supercity is open to all. Today, we celebrate the victory of humankind.

People came in endless waves. From faraway base cities, they arrived in aircraft or by road. There were no more monsters present on Earth right now. Some cried when they saw the supercity gates open. For fifty years, no one dared step inside without permission. Now, even children ran through the vast plazas with toys in their hands.

On the main square, huge screens played old videos of humanity’s struggle. Scenes of ruin and terror flashed by—monsters tearing through cities, warriors falling one after another. Then came the moment when Ethan stood alone against the ocean emperor. The recordings showed him floating above the black waves, sword in hand, eyes locked on the enemy.

People grew silent, watching that moment again and again. Even the strongest fighters felt a tightness in their chests. If Ethan hadn’t appeared, their entire species might have been wiped out.

Dragon stood in front of the crowd, wearing a simple robe instead of armor. He didn’t need to look imposing anymore. The world already knew he was a legend. The cameras focused on his handsome face as he raised a hand to quiet everyone.

”Some time ago,” Dragon began, his voice calm but strong, ”I made a promise. I said that whoever could become a king before turning twenty would be the next president of the Alliance.”

He paused. A breeze blew across the stage.

”But that young man didn’t just become a king. He did something none of us even dared to dream of. He conquered the entire world for humankind.”

A wave of cheers exploded. Some people clapped so hard their hands turned red.

Dragon waited for the noise to die down. He turned and gestured. Ethan stepped into view, wearing a plain black coat. He looked almost shy.

Dragon put a hand on his shoulder. ”He is now the strongest person alive on this planet,” Dragon said. ”So today, I hand over the presidency to him.”

Ethan raised both palms. ”Wait, wait,” he said, almost laughing. ”President, this is a huge honor, but as you can see, I’m still very young. And I have a very pretty life partner.”

He looked around until he spotted Rose in the crowd. Her face turned red.

Ethan continued, ”I won’t have time to manage everything. How about this? I can be the honorary president. And you keep doing what you’re already so good at.”

Dragon’s eyebrows shot up. ”Damn no,” he replied, in the same blunt tone he always used. ”I’m not good at this managing shit. I want to wander the world and maybe, someday, see the vast universe.”

Ethan was speechless. For a moment, he just stared at Dragon. The cameras were rolling, broadcasting the entire exchange live.

”You’re still the president, you know,” Ethan said.

Dragon looked around as if searching for someone to dump the job on. His eyes landed on Leon, who was trying to hide behind a line of medics.

Dragon and Ethan both turned their gaze to him.

Leon felt an icy shiver race down his spine. He took a step back.

Ethan grinned and said, ”Then it’s settled. Leon Gravis will control the Alliance on my behalf.”

Leon’s mouth opened, but no sound came out. When did I agree to this? he thought. But the crowd was already cheering again, and he didn’t dare say no.

All over the world, people watched this ridiculous handover unfold. Some were rolling on the floor laughing. Others simply shook their heads. Even the reporters looked lost for words. One cameraman whispered to his partner, ”They know they’re live, right?”

Ethan and Dragon shrugged at the same time, as if to say, So what?

Then Ethan raised a hand, and his expression turned serious.

”Listen to me,” he said, his voice echoing across the plaza. ”It’s time we rebuild our planet. The Earth belongs to all of us now. Let’s make it something worthy of the grand stage we’re about to enter. Soon, foreign races will visit. We should show them that Earth is a place of strength and beauty.”

This time, the response wasn’t just cheers. It was a roar of pure excitement. For decades, people had been trapped behind walls and barriers. They dreamed of seeing the supercontinent and the hidden wonders of the world. Now, those dreams were within reach.

Ethan stepped off the stage and walked toward Rose. He took her hand without a word. Then, slowly, the two of them rose into the air.

People watched in awe as they climbed higher and higher, until they were just dark shapes against the sky.

For the next three days, Ethan and Rose traveled to every corner of the planet. They flew over deep forests and endless deserts. They dived beneath the waves, where Ethan shaped a giant bubble out of mental energy. Inside it, they drifted through silent underwater ecosystem and coral canyons.

Sometimes, Rose would reach out to touch a strange fish gliding past. Not every creature turned monsters in the apocalyptic time. Only some chosen ones you could say.If every animal turned monster, then Ethan had to kill in billions, not just millions.

Sometimes, Ethan would point to the seabed and whisper that there was something hidden below.

At one point, he used his mental power to lift a whole layer of sand and rock. Beneath it lay ancient ruins, buildings from a civilization no one even knew existed. Rose pressed her hand to her mouth, her eyes wide.

Above ground, Leon was already buried in work. He didn’t get to wander or explore. He spent those three days inside a control room, surrounded by screens and maps.

New cities were planned in every region. Resources were gathered from the vaults and storerooms of the alliance. There would be no more ”base cities” locked behind barriers. No more nations fighting for scraps. All of it would be the Alliance—one empire under a single banner.

Some people might have resisted that. But no one dared to speak against it now. Everyone knew: if humanity was still alive, it was because of Ethan.

And deep down, they also knew something else. Humans were greedy. Without an absolute force to keep them in line, that greed could tear the world apart again.

In those quiet hours before dawn, when the work slowed for a moment, Leon would sigh and rub his face. He had never asked for power. But now, he was the acting emperor of the world.

Dragon, meanwhile, had his own path to walk. He was a Fire Elemental martial artist, and Ethan had given him a special fire elemental stone to help him comprehend the laws of flame.

Dragon locked himself away to train. He dreamed of the day he would break through to the planetary realm and fly among the stars.

Back in the supercity 1—now called Aurora City, capital of the Alliance—Ethan gathered Rose and Ryan. They stood in a tall chamber lined with relics and weapons.

Ethan placed a small pile of shimmering crystals in their hands. ”These will help you break through to the warrior realm,” he said quietly. ”You can even reach the grandmaster level with enough effort.”

Ryan’s hands trembled as he accepted the gift. He opened his mouth, but Ethan held up a hand. ”Listen,” he said. ”Once you touch the grandmaster realm, don’t rush your cultivation then. You’ll need to comprehend skills. So don’t rush. Take your time.”

Rose nodded, her eyes serious.

Afterward, Ryan left the city on a mission. Ethan had told him to search the world for talented people. The Alliance had many contracted geniuses, but most were loyal only to rewards.

Ethan wanted to build something different—a force that would stand by him no matter what.

While the world was busy rebuilding, Ethan felt his strength surging. In just three days, his attributes had multiplied eightfold.

93 billion
Talent: Infinite Comprehension

(42 days remaining)

His body was now so powerful that he could flatten a city with a single punch—no technique, no skill, just raw force.

He knew he couldn’t stay still. It was time to break through to the Emperor level. After that, he would start comprehending laws. If he wanted to stand on equal ground with the true powers of the universe, he had to become a planetary powerhouse as soon as possible.

He was about to retreat into seclusion when his mind suddenly throbbed. His mental domain, which had been spread across the Earth like a protective shell, sensed a pressure beyond anything he had ever felt.

He retracted it instantly. Pain burst through his skull. His vision darkened, and for a few seconds, he thought he might lose consciousness.

His regeneration worked quickly, healing the torn nerves in his brain. But his heart was still racing.

What was that? he thought. I only felt a fraction of that power, and it almost killed me. That thing... it could erase the entire solar system with a thought.

He swallowed, his throat dry. The emissary is here.

And then, without warning, a man appeared in front of him.

The figure wore a grand battle suit that glowed with shifting symbols. Behind him, three more people stood, each radiating a quiet, terrifying force.

Ethan’s knees almost buckled.

The man in front studied him with calm, curious eyes. A small smile played at his lips.

In Ethan’s ear, Po’s voice screamed like a siren. Boss! This man is even more terrifying than my master! If he attacks... maybe even the Milky Way will disappear!

The stranger tilted his head, and his smile widened. ”Oh,” he murmured, as if talking to himself. ”A little AI? Tenth generation... almost an eleventh? What a surprise.”

Ethan’s back was soaked in cold sweat. He forced himself to lift his chin and meet the man’s gaze.

The stranger looked amused. ”I am Arthur Gray,” he said in perfect English. ”An emissary of the Primordial Alliance. Boy, no need to be so nervous. I sensed an incredible mental energy just now. So I came directly to you. You are a very interesting fellow.”

Ethan felt his heart slam against his ribs. He made himself smile, though his face was stiff. ”It’s an honor to meet you,” he said hoarsely. ”I’m Ethan Hunt... Please, come with me.”

And as he turned to lead them, he knew the door keeper of the grand stage was here, all he needed was to step onto it.
