MIGHT AS WELL BE OP

Chapter 579: Pregnant

Anthony, Vega, and Veronica appeared within the familiar room where the entire team usually gathered. Inside, Reynold, Dale, Seraphim, Kingsley, Spectre, and Clement could be seen seated, each of them immersed in their own preparations for the upcoming mission.

Everyone was preparing in their own distinct manner. Kingsley, who didn’t wield a conventional weapon, or rather, whose very existence was considered a weapon, sat with one leg crossed over the other, his arms folded across his chest, exuding a calm yet powerful presence.

Clement, shrouded in his characteristic cloak of swirling darkness, remained still, almost as if meditating. Spectre sat with his katana resting lightly across his lap, his eyes closed in silence, as though patiently waiting for the signal to move.

Dale and Reynold, meanwhile, were polishing their weapons with visible anticipation on their faces, both men eager to finally confront and annihilate the cult they loathed.

Seraphim was carefully counting a small pile of Spiritual Energy Crystals, her expression focused. She had spent the majority of her accumulated military points acquiring them, and it was evident she was looking forward to testing her newfound power in battle, particularly to showcase the results of her training under Anthony’s guidance.

“Anthony, Vega, you’re finally here. We would’ve left without the two of you,” Dale remarked with a grin, glancing up from his spear before shifting his gaze to Veronica, who now stood calmly beside them.

Just as Dale was about to shift to his innate vampire charm mode, Vega cut in swiftly, “Don’t bother. She’s already taken.”

Dale paused in his tracks, mildly disappointed. ‘Such beautiful eyes… what a shame,’ he thought. Still, he wasn’t the type to chase after someone else’s partner.

Vega offered a quick introduction, though Veronica already recognized Spectre and Clement, even if she hadn’t spoken to them before. After all, both men were strikingly handsome and immensely talented, hard to ignore by anyone’s standards.

“Are you all done with your preparations?” Anthony asked, his gaze sweeping the group.

“We are. Just waiting for the green light from you so we can depart,” Reynold replied with a confident nod.

By then, Vega, Seraphim, and Veronica had already gathered in one corner of the room, animatedly chatting about who knew what.

“Let’s leave immediately. I’ve prepared a special gift for those cult freaks,” Dale said, a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips.

He held nothing but hatred for the Forsaken Cult. He couldn’t comprehend how anyone could ally themselves with demons. But, in the end, their reasoning didn’t matter to him. All that mattered was that he’d sink his vampiric fangs into their jugulars and make them suffer.

Anthony raised an eyebrow with subtle curiosity, silently asking what gift Dale was referring to.

Noticing Anthony’s expression, Dale grinned and raised one hand. In his palm appeared a basketball-sized metallic sphere. The moment Anthony saw it, recognition flashed in his eyes.

Mana bombs.

It was the same kind of bomb a demon had once used to devastate nearly half of the Dragon Domain, prompting the Dragon Primarch himself to intervene to protect his people.

“I didn’t just buy one,” Dale said proudly. “I bought enough to level whatever they’ve built.”

“What about potions?” Anthony asked, his voice laced with a trace of concern, trying to ensure Dale hadn’t foolishly spent all his military points solely on explosives.

‘Was his father a terrorist or something’ Anthony couldn’t help but think to himself.

“I stocked up on plenty of mana and stamina potions. As for healing potions, come on, I’m a vampire. I regenerate. I don’t need them,” Dale replied nonchalantly.

Anthony gave a thoughtful nod. “Anything else I should know about?”

“You’ll find out soon enough, during the sweet symphony of their cries for help,” Dale responded with a wicked grin.

‘So he didn’t buy anything else then,’ Anthony concluded silently. If Dale had, he’d no doubt be bragging about it by now.

Shaking his head slightly, Anthony moved to take a seat. Nearby, Veronica seemed to be enjoying herself immensely. She was seated and conversing freely with a group of high-ranking soldiers, all at Captain level.

She felt completely at ease in their company, appreciating the relaxed, respectful atmosphere. No one among them carried the usual air of arrogance that sometimes accompanied military titles.

Many of them engaged her in light conversations, curious to hear her thoughts or views on various subjects. Well, not everyone exactly, Clement and Kingsley didn’t engage with her at all.

Kingsley had seen many beautiful women in his lifetime, some even more breathtaking than Veronica, so he was rarely moved by physical appearances. For him, if a woman stirred his interest, it meant something deeper than beauty; it meant love.

As for Clement, no one knew much about him. He could be secretly married or hiding a pregnant girlfriend somewhere, and no one would have the slightest clue.

After a while, Anthony snapped his fingers, and in the blink of an eye, everyone appeared outside the building in a large, open clearing. With a single wave of his hand, a massive aircraft shimmered into existence, appearing midair before descending gently to the ground.

It was an official military aircraft, sleek, advanced, and deadly, issued to him upon his promotion to the rank of Major.

“So once you reach Major rank, they give you your own personal aircraft?” Dale asked, admiring the smooth metallic plating and high-tech design.

“Yes,” Anthony replied succinctly as he stepped forward.

With a hiss of hydraulic pressure, the aircraft’s hatch opened, and the team began boarding.

Veronica followed behind. Unlike Anthony, she didn’t have a personal aircraft. During missions, she simply shared whatever transport was assigned to her and her teammates. She hadn’t come from a wealthy background either, she had earned everything through grit and discipline.

She wandered through the aircraft with curiosity, checking out every chamber, the control room, the command panels, the energy cores, and the navigation systems. She admired everything with bright eyes, capturing videos and taking a few photos on her phone. She even asked Vega to take some pictures of her with the interior as a backdrop.

No one gave her odd looks or mocked her for acting like a tourist. In fact, they understood perfectly. They would’ve done the same if they saw a more advanced aircraft. In fact, most of them had already done something similar when they first boarded Anthony’s Last Stand aircraft en route to Military Base Alpha-9.

Eventually, Veronica bid everyone goodbye, a warm smile on her face. Anthony, ever the gentleman, opened a portal for her, returning her to the Corporal ranked military residence.

Once the portal closed, Anthony turned and said, “AI, set coordinates for our home planet.”

Beep.

“Coordinates set. Full speed?” a mechanical voice echoed from the aircraft’s control interface.

“Full speed,” Anthony confirmed.

“Affirmative.”

With a low, resonating hum, the aircraft lifted from the ground and ascended steadily into the sky. Then, in an instant, it blasted forward at breakneck speed, leaving behind multiple sonic booms that echoed across the sky like thunderclaps.
