MIGHT AS WELL BE OP

Chapter 568: Nope

As Anthony closed the door behind him, he walked for a while with a smile on his face. He had simply decided to escape the situation. He had no intention of being thrust into women’s discussions; he had heard words about these kinds of scenarios online in his past life.

Shaking his head, Anthony vanished in a white streak of light. In the next moment, he reappeared in the same place where Warlord Raelith trained his students.

Light flooded his vision as he took in his new reality. Leaning against a wall, Anthony saw Warlord Raelith sparring against every single one of them at the same time. Even Spectre was there, and they were all taking a beating at that moment.

Warlord Raelith, in terms of attack power, was matching their level. But in terms of the difference in skill and pure Katanamanship technique, he held nothing back. He drilled everything he could into their minds, bodies, and souls without even the slightest bit of hesitation.

Warlord Raelith had sensed Anthony’s presence, but he didn’t pause his training session for him. Once he had started a session, nothing would stop it unless the military base was falling or the Supreme Monarch needed him directly and immediately.

An hour blurred away, and Anthony continued leaning against the wall with his hands folded across his chest as he simply watched.

Only the heavy clangs of metal kissing metal could be heard, sparks illuminating the hall with each clash. Every single one of them was sweating profusely, even Spectre wasn’t spared from the intensity. As another hour passed by, Warlord Raelith finally stopped, his movement coming to a graceful halt.

”We will continue this tomorrow. I hope to see improvements,” Warlord Raelith stated, his deep voice ringing through the training hall as his piercing blue eyes bore down on the exhausted students.

”Yes, Master,” they all replied in unison, even Spectre.

Then Warlord Raelith turned and walked away, leaving behind only the sound of heavy breathing coming from his students.

Anthony watched as Warlord Raelith approached. He could tell the man had undergone remarkable changes, Anthony could feel it. His presence was now heavier, denser.

With just the spar with Anthony and the Supreme Monarchs’ battle video Anthony had given him, his combat ability had taken a step forward.

For a man who was already only a step below the Supreme Monarchs, this step would have taken centuries at the barest minimum without interference or assistance from someone else.

”Good afternoon, Warlord Raelith,” Anthony greeted casually. There was no need to salute, they were already quite close.

”I can see you’ve gone through some improvements,” Anthony continued, his blue eyes glowing slightly as they met Warlord Raelith’s blue ones.

Warlord Raelith smirked as he replied, ”Indeed. It’s all thanks to you. If I keep going like this, I might touch the barrier of a Supreme Monarch within three centuries at most.”

Anthony could feel the happiness radiating from the man, but he couldn’t relate. He couldn’t imagine working for centuries just for a single improvement. Still, Anthony knew that the difference between a Supreme Monarch and a Warlord wasn’t just a matter of mana quantity or rank, but of existence itself.

After all, Supreme Monarchs stood at the level of planetary destructive power, able to fell stars with a single move. But Warlords couldn’t even destroy a planet, even with their best techniques. The difference was like that between a god and a literal ant.

”I’ll be there to celebrate with you then,” Anthony replied with a gentle smile. It was just a casual statement, he had no idea where he would be in three centuries. That was simply too long to even begin to consider seriously.

”I’ll take you up on that offer then,” Warlord Raelith responded, leaning on the wall beside Anthony, their eyes now on the students ahead, who continued swinging their katanas with growing determination.

”How is Spectre doing? I hope he didn’t turn out to be a disappointment after I praised him so highly,” Anthony asked with a small smile, his tone laced with subtle curiosity.

”Honestly, it’s just as you said. He’s a talent only second to you when it comes to the katana. He absorbs everything I give like a sponge, so much so that I’ve had to give him several private lessons and keep upping my technique just to stay ahead,” Warlord Raelith said calmly, admiration hiding beneath his composed exterior.

Then he continued, ”I honestly don’t know where you found such a monster. Although he calls me Master, it’s purely superficial. I’ve asked him to become my student many times, but he refuses, says he serves only one man.”

Anthony simply listened to Warlord Raelith’s words. He knew no matter how much Warlord Raelith pushed, Spectre would never agree to becoming his student. His loyalty was no different from a mountain. Unmovable.

”Although he doesn’t want to become my student, I’ve decided to teach him as if he is one. After all, he possesses the talent, and more importantly, the love for the art. Such talent can’t be allowed to rot just because of my personal pride or expectations,” Warlord Raelith concluded, his voice calm but filled with firm resolution.

’So, you’re basically teaching him as though he’s your student because he’s obsessed with the katana, just like you,’ Anthony thought but didn’t dare say it out loud. Although he might be close with the Warlords, there were lines he wouldn’t cross, and certain things he wouldn’t say.

Externally, Anthony simply nodded his head and spoke, ”I see. I’m glad he lives up to the expectations, then. I’d love to see what this training produces during our mission.”

Warlord Raelith nodded his head in acknowledgment, as if already prepared to unleash his ’creation’ on the battlefield.

”So, up for another Katanamanship spar? I need someone to measure everything I’ve learned and accumulated,” Warlord Raelith asked, his expression calm but his eyes alive with anticipation.

”Any bets this time?” Anthony asked, a calm smile playing on his lips.

”Nope. Just a normal spar,” Warlord Raelith informed him.

Anthony simply nodded. He had no intention of personally sparring with the Warlord. He had to train his Authority Of Severance; he couldn’t afford to waste that time on anyone besides Vega or his parents.

Just like he had done with Seraphim, he would simply send a clone in his place. After all, his clones possessed every single one of his abilities, even the system and his Authorities.
