Chapter 562: A week

A week had passed since Anthony received the gift from the Limit Breaker. And during this week, Anthony had only done three things: trained his Authority of Severance, talked with his girlfriend, Vega, and discussed about various things with his teammates.

Within this week, he and Vega had also gone on two more dates. On the third one, however, Vega spent it visiting orphanages, donating both food and money.

On this third date, Anthony discovered something endearing, Vega loved children. She had a soft spot for them, especially because they were growing up without the love and comfort of their parents.

Anthony understood this perfectly, as he too had once been an orphan.

Anthony had also undergone intense training for the Authority of Severance within the Divine Realm, utilizing the maximum rate of 100x time speed. During the training, Anthony discovered that mastering an Authority was no easy feat.

Unlike the Authority of Information, which he could access and utilize freely, this one came with limitations and mental blocks. But would Anthony allow these roadblocks to hinder his path to power?

He didn’t stop. He didn’t pause. He pushed his Limitless Talent for all it was worth, without a single thought of rest or hesitation. If it weren’t for Vega, he wouldn’t have even come out of the Divine Realm. After all, he couldn’t just suddenly ghost his girlfriend right after entering a relationship.

At this moment, Anthony could be seen sitting on a couch with Vega’s legs resting on his lap. His hands gently ran along her legs as he massaged them with utmost care.

He did this simply because Vega had been walking around far too much. He had even bought her a flying carpet so she wouldn’t have to walk anymore, but Vega only used it when coming over to Anthony’s room.

Vega could be seen giggling at something on her phone, laughing as if amused by someone’s stupidity online. Both of them had a shared love for internet memes and funny videos.

Anthony’s gaze turned toward her, and then he spoke, ”I hope it isn’t another man that’s making you laugh this much.”

Vega’s eyes shifted from her screen to Anthony, then with a teasing smile, she replied, ”Hoo... are you jealous?”

”How can I be jealous of a background character without a name? Does he have my face or the ability to be worth my jealousy?” Anthony replied with a playful snort.

Vega simply shook her head with a smile, her gaze returning to her phone.

”How’s Veronica? I haven’t seen her ever since we went on our first date,” Anthony asked, suddenly remembering the white-haired, white-eyed woman.

”A mission was assigned to her, so she had to leave for a while,” Vega replied casually.

”Ahh... I see. What about you? Aren’t you going to take a mission? You just spend your day lying around on your bed,” Anthony asked with a raised brow.

”I can’t be bothered with such things. I don’t have the time to battle weak demons,” Vega stated bluntly. Then, she shifted her position, her legs left Anthony’s lap, and her head now rested where her legs had just been.

Anthony didn’t say a word. His hand gently moved through her purple hair, playing with her cheeks and nose with a soft smile on his face.

”I know a way to battle stronger enemies,” Anthony spoke calmly.

”Already trying to pull strings for me with your Major military rank?” Vega asked. Though it sounded like a question, it was rhetorical, she was simply stating a fact.

”Not really pulling strings. But you can join my team. We can perform missions together,” Anthony offered.

”Why?” Vega asked flatly.

”Well, your Corporal rank is killing you. Besides, remember when I told you earlier that I know a few people going through the same thing as you and stuck in the Corporal rank? Well, they’re now also in my team,” Anthony replied with a grin.

”You mean Clement and Spectre, right?” Vega intoned, her eyes narrowing.

”You know them?” Anthony asked, a bit surprised.

”Indeed I do. We had our one-year training together. It’s not every day you see people who could keep up with me, you know,” Vega replied with a smirk, as though praising herself instead of them.

Catching the cue, Anthony followed up, ”No one can keep up with you. You’re giving them way too much credit.”

”Indeed,” Vega replied with a cute smile.

”So, are you joining?” Anthony asked again, not forgetting the proposal.

”I’ll join on one condition,” Vega said calmly.

”Hoo... I’m listening. Don’t cry again when you lose, just like how you lost during all our games on our dates,” Anthony teased with a smile.

”Hmph. You were cheating,” Vega pouted.

Then she rose to her feet, and with a smirk, she declared, ”Defeat me in any aspect of cooking and I’ll join your team. If you lose, you will follow me on Corporal ranked missions for a whole week.”

Anthony stared at her for a moment. With his Limitless Talent, he had already mastered every subset of cooking using his clone.

”Vee, don’t say I didn’t warn you. I’m a master chef. Don’t start saying I cheated again when you lose,” Anthony replied with a chuckle.

”Romulus will be the judge. I trust his brutal honesty,” Vega said firmly.

As soon as his name was mentioned, a golden light flashed and appeared on Vega’s head.

Over the course of the week, Romulus had finally appeared of his own accord and introduced himself to Vega.

Since then, the two had grown surprisingly close. At this point, Anthony wasn’t even sure who Romulus was more loyal to, him or Vega.

”It’s been a while, Vega,” Romulus spoke with a warm smile on his face. His oppressive aura of authority seemed to always vanish whenever Vega was around.

”Hey, Romulus. You’ll be our judge here,” Vega said with a grin.

”Happily. Let’s head to the kitchen. I know all of his cooking techniques and skills. I’ll help you evaluate fairly,” Romulus said as he sat calmly on Vega’s hair.

’Tsk.’ Anthony clicked his tongue in annoyance.

’Why do men always have a sudden 360-degree change in attitude whenever they see a woman?’ Anthony thought, observing Romulus’ drastic shift in behavior.

Shaking his head, he followed them to the kitchen.
