Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 617: Chapter 447: Bing’s Ability (Part 2)

After Hong Yi joined, Lin Feng could already feel the strain on Little Green Monster; perhaps he could only add three or four more members.

And with each additional member, the power fed back after He Jun’s sacrifice would have to be absorbed by one more person.

Therefore, these few positions became particularly precious.

Lin Feng needed to choose carefully.

He felt some sympathy for the Abnormal People’s plight and didn’t detest them.

But, to be honest, he was somewhat concerned about their identity.

There is some truth in the ancient saying, ”Those not of our kin are sure to be different in heart.”

History has no shortage of examples where Abnormal People eventually betrayed the Human Race.

The Abnormal People can, like them, receive formal education and participate in the annual Awakening Day as adults, and compared to ordinary people, they even receive some special allowances.

Although the nation protects Abnormal People, it doesn’t focus resources on nurturing them, nor does it place them in important positions.

This is to prevent them from betraying.

To Lin Feng, even if Bing were a Demon Fiend like Yun Kai or Ye Qiu, he would directly refuse.

If an Abnormal Person joined Lin Feng’s team, it would certainly stir up debate and controversy.

Lin Feng hated trouble.

To avoid trouble and future uncertainties, refusal was the best choice.

Unless the other party’s abilities were irresistible.

”Yes.”

Bing nodded.

Lin Feng was direct, and he didn’t plan on wasting words either.

As an Abnormal Person, he knew sympathy was the cheapest thing in the world and understood that his identity couldn’t easily earn others’ trust.

To join Lin Feng’s team, he would have to display abilities that Lin Feng’s team couldn’t refuse.

”Ah!”

Accompanied by a low growl, dark blood-colored patterns surfaced all over Bing’s body.

These patterns were unique, like the body’s veins, somewhat similar to Yun Kai during his Demon Transformation.

Bing extended his hand toward Lin Feng...

”Bloodline ability?”

Under Bing’s expectant and slightly desiring gaze, Lin Feng shook hands with him.

He could tell Bing’s strength was at most Third Grade, incapable of harming him.

Bing also couldn’t act in broad daylight.

Lin Feng could feel a power flowing from Bing’s right hand into his body; this energy wasn’t Spiritual Power or Soul Power and had no effect on his body.

”What ability?”

Yun Tianqi asked in confusion.

”How would I know? But it should be similar to a bloodline ability.”

Ye Xing replied, equally puzzled.

”I’ll attack you later, don’t worry.” After making contact, Bing said to Lin Feng.

Lin Feng nodded slightly; initially puzzled, but hearing this, he had a guess in mind.

Bing’s ability should be somewhat similar to He Jun’s.

If he wasn’t mistaken, the ability was indeed quite special!

Bing held a dagger, stabbing towards Lin Feng’s right chest, though knowing it wouldn’t be lethal, it still elicited gasps.

At this moment, many people’s faces changed.

They seemed to have guessed Bing’s ability.

The dagger pierced into Lin Feng’s right chest, but no blood spurted out, nor did Lin Feng feel any pain; the area where the dagger met the chest was enveloped in a blood-red light.

And Bing, who held the dagger, his face turned slightly pale and his chest was stained with blood.

Yet his body remained unmoving.

”Damage transfer!”

”Damn, it’s Star Shift!”

Exclamations sounded out.

At this point, Bing’s ability was evident.

Star Shift is a Divine Level skill unique to the Blood-colored Grassman ranked 15th in the Earth Chart; its effect is to absorb attack energy and transfer the attack’s damage.

The skill-holder can not only transfer personal damage but also damage received by teammates to themselves.

And that is just one aspect of this skill; when well-developed, it can have multiple powerful abilities, one being control puppets.

Demon Spirit Masters who have refined Blood-colored Grassmen are natural Puppet Masters.

This skill is also one of the thirty Divine Soul Skills, serving as an attack, support, and control skill, making it extremely precious among Divine Soul Skills.

What surprised everyone was, why could this Abnormal Person use the Star Shift skill, the hallmark of the Blood-colored Grassman?

After all, he hadn’t undergone Demon Transformation!

Without Demon Transformation, it’s hard to exhibit much power of innate skills!

Given Bing’s apparent strength, it shouldn’t have had such an effect.

”My ability is to absorb energy and transfer damage. If I can join you, I can transfer damage for you, even die for you!”

Holding the dagger, Bing still had his dagger stuck in Lin Feng’s chest as he spoke with a hint of iciness in his tone. He didn’t plead nor pull out the dagger, letting the blood stain his chest and pants, pooling into a puddle on the ground.

Lin Feng did not respond, standing still, allowing his body to become stiff and cold.

”An impressive ability,” Ye Xing remarked with some admiration.

Among Divine Soul Skills, Star Shift is also an incredibly valuable one, with limitless development potential.

In the Avengers Alliance, there’s every sort of profession, but no Puppet Master.

”For an Abnormal Person to have the courage to join us, they must have some confidence.”

Zhan Tianyu commented.

”Just like me, a tough person!” Yu Qiao added.

In his view, this Abnormal Person had a hint of self-harm tactics as conveying abilities can be done in numerous ways without needing such bloody and painful methods.

Of course, the painful cost also conveys sincerity.

After the shock, the atmosphere turned a bit stagnant.

Everyone was waiting for Lin Feng’s response.

If it were anyone else with this ability, they would surely be allowed to join Lin Feng’s team; but Bing was an Abnormal Person!

Lin Feng’s team wasn’t lacking strong Warriors.

Bing now speaks so confidently, but who knows what might happen in the future?

Star Shift, as a Divine Soul Skill, is truly powerful, but this ability is more effective for the user, transferring the user’s damage to a medium through special means.

Even though the ability can transfer teammates’ damage to the user, the ability-holder still suffers damage.

If Lin Feng’s team members couldn’t withstand damage, how could Bing handle it?

Bing is currently weak and perhaps willing, but once he grows, will he still be?

After all, he is an Abnormal Person!

Lin Feng remained silent as Bing’s blood flowed and his figure swayed until he finally fainted.

Even as he fainted, the dagger in Bing’s right hand remained in Lin Feng’s chest.

Yun Tianqi, standing next to Lin Feng, grabbed Bing’s collar, not letting him fall.

Dong Yunan and Chen Tianming stepped forward, starting to cast Healing Techniques.

With two top-level Therapists present, it would be hard for Bing to die.

”What do you think?”

Yun Tianqi asked.

If not considering other factors, purely based on ability, Bing qualified to join the team!

Though unsure how Bing had an ability like Star Shift, the ability was indeed powerful with great development potential.

As for Bing’s current strength, they didn’t need to worry too much.

During the inquiry, Bing gradually woke up, his gaze initially confused but eventually clear.

He looked at Lin Feng, silent yet hopeful.

This was his only hope.

He had already exposed his ability.

If he couldn’t join Lin Feng’s team, he would be forced to join other organizations and become a puppet ready to sacrifice at any time.

Yun Kai looked into Bing’s eyes, his gaze complex; Bing’s eyes made him see his past self.

”Welcome to Lin Feng’s team!”

Amidst the crowd’s attention, Lin Feng extended his hand to Bing, smiling.

Bing was slightly stunned, his pupils enlarged, seemingly in disbelief, then his eyes reddened.

He succeeded!

He had the chance to change his fate.

From birth, it was his first taste of happiness.

”He actually joined us!”

Ye Xing commented, with some emotion.

Among the Divine Level Soul Skills, Star Shift is an extremely precious existence, with boundless potential for development.

In the Vengeful Alliance, there are all sorts of professions but no Puppet Master.

”For an Abnormal Person to have the courage to join us naturally shows confidence.”

Zhan Tianyu said.

”Just like me, such a tough guy!” Yu Qiao said.

In his view, there was a bit of desperation in this Abnormal Person’s actions.

Because there were many ways to demonstrate abilities, there was no need for such gore and pain.

Of course, such a painful cost also signified sincerity.

After the shock passed, the atmosphere turned a bit dead.

”My power is very strong.” Ye Xing sighed a bit.

Among the Divine Level Soul Skills, Star Shift is also an extremely precious existence, with boundless development possibilities.

There are all sorts of professions in the Avengers Alliance, but no Puppet Master.

”If Lin Feng could see through it, maybe he doesn’t care about the rest.”

Zhan Tianyu said.

”Truly a hard man, just like me!” Yu Qiao remarked.

It seemed to him like this Abnormal Person had some element of self-sacrifice in his action.

Because there are many ways to express ability; there was no need to use such a bloody and painful manner.

Of course, the painful price also showed sincerity.

After the shock, the atmosphere turned somewhat dead.

No one said anything, waiting for Lin Feng’s response.

The unique ability of reversibly transferring damage makes it highly suitable for many applications.

The ability to both transfer and absorb damage, as well as potentially die for the team if needed, was extremely valuable.

Bing, holding the dagger, still had it planted in Lin Feng’s chest.

As he spoke with a hint of coldness in his tone, the blood continued staining his chest and pants, pooling on the ground.

Lin Feng stood unmoving, not responding, the cold creeping up his body, until Bing finally collapsed.

Yun Tianqi, standing next to Bing, held him by his collar, preventing him from collapsing.

Dong Yunan asked, ”What do you think?”

”If not considering other factors, purely based on ability, he’s qualified to join,” Yun Tianqi said.

During the tense silence that followed the shocking demonstration, the atmosphere turned somewhat still.

Bing was conscious but silent, yet his eyes were filled with anticipation and hope.

This was his only chance for redemption.

After exposing his unique skills, joining Lin Feng’s team was his last hope, to avoid being forced to join another group and become a disposable puppet.

Yun Kai looked into Bing’s eyes; his expression was one of appreciation.

”Amazing power,” Ye Xing said, showing some admiration.

”He has the courage to join us because he believes in himself,” added Zhan Tianyu.

”He’s tough, just like me,” Yu Qiao commented.

Despite knowing there are many ways to demonstrate one’s abilities, Psudes’ method was unnecessarily bloody and painful.

But then again, such a heavy price also showed his sincerity.

After the initial shock wore off, the atmosphere became somewhat tense.

Everyone awaited Lin Feng’s response.

For anyone else with such power, they would undoubtedly be accepted into Lin Feng’s team.

But the problem was, Bing was an Abnormal Person!

It’s not as if there is a lack of powerful Warriors on Lin Feng’s team.

Bing is currently weak; even if he transferred damage to himself, he would still suffer.

Why would Lin Feng choose someone weaker if his team members couldn’t handle the damage themselves?

Bing was still holding the dagger, his face pale, his chest stained with blood, yet he refused to fall as Yun Tianqi supported him by his collar.

Dong Yunan assessed his condition while Chen Tianming began medical procedures.

”What do you think?” Yun Tianqi inquired.

He was curious, without emotional tension or anger.

Purely based on ability, Bing was qualified to join the team!

Bing didn’t move, still clenching his dagger, letting the warm blood flow.

This was his last chance for change.

After standing there, feeling his body gradually grow cold and stiff, he finally collapsed.

With the last ounce of strength before collapsing, he released his right hand from the dagger still embedded in Lin Feng’s chest.

He gazed longingly at Lin Feng, silently pleading.

Lin Feng looked around at the people waiting in anticipation for his decision.

Finally, he broke the silence, stretched out his hand towards the unconscious Bing, and with a smile, he said to him.

”Okay, welcome to the team. With your ability, you’re definitely qualified to join us.”

Lin Feng patted Bing’s back, acknowledging his ability.

There was a mix of shock and envy in the air among the onlookers.

Some couldn’t wait to spread the news.

Everyone knew what Lin Feng’s decision meant.

For an Abnormal Person, having his ability accepted meant everything.
