Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 608: Chapter 439: Rescue Plan!

Receiving the Guardian Medal is indeed a highly honorable and prestigious achievement.

No battle record or glory is as persuasive as this medal.

This is not just a simple medal!

The person possessing this medal is also awarded the rank of lieutenant colonel, with monthly benefits exceeding a hundred thousand, which may not mean much to the Lin Feng squad, but it is a recognition.

”Congratulations.”

Wang Jian congratulated him.

Although he is a King, he didn’t hide the envy in his words at this moment.

As the Guardian of Shangjing, such a medal is beyond his reach.

Without a miracle, it would be impossible to obtain in his lifetime, even if he died in the line of duty!

This isn’t a medal that can be acquired through strength or position; it requires battle achievements and merits, and each year, fewer than two people can obtain this medal.

Bestowing it upon fourteen people at once is an extremely rare occurrence.

Amidst his envy, Wang Jian was also somewhat puzzled.

In his view, with the achievements of Lin Feng, Ye Qiu, Yu Qiao, Yun Kai, Zhan Tianyu, Yang Ningbing, and Huang Tianze, they indeed deserved the Guardian Medal, after all, they had slain over a thousand alien geniuses within the Jade Seal Spatial Gate.

Those were alien geniuses, not ordinary aliens.

Slaying one alien genius is far more valuable than slaying a hundred ordinary aliens.

Moreover, this also included Demon Fiends like Hai Wei and Tian Qing.

It was precisely the actions of the Lin Feng squad within the Jade Seal Spatial Gate that recently calmed the five-star and six-star grade space gates, directly resulting in fewer deaths.

The Lin Feng squad changed hundreds of space gates with their strength alone.

The death of these alien geniuses has no immediate impact on the current situation, as their strength is still relatively weak, but in less than fifteen years, even by the most conservative estimates, there will be over a hundred new Kings among these geniuses.

In other words, the Lin Feng squad preemptively eliminated over a hundred potential alien Kings!

It was due to such severe losses that the aliens issued a hefty bounty, so enraged that they disregarded everything to massacre a Satellite City as revenge, attempting to psychologically attack the Lin Feng squad from another angle.

Compared to the Land of Chaos, many people overlooked the Lin Feng squad’s achievements inside the Jade Seal Spatial Gate.

Perhaps it was the influence of the city massacre that made people and the media reluctant or fearful to publicize the achievements.

Otherwise, the achievements they gained in Jade Seal City would have been no less brilliant compared to those in the Land of Chaos.

The seven of Lin Feng obtaining the Prologue of the Guardian is well deserved. But Little Sister Dong and Yue Mingming’s contribution wasn’t as significant.

After all, they didn’t participate in the subsequent alien genius hunting plan and weren’t as strong, mainly providing supportive roles.

If they could obtain the Guardian Medal, then many others could as well.

Yun Tianqi, Ye Xing, and Bu Zheng stood out in their performance this time, slaying a considerable number of aliens; therefore, while it was unexpected for them to receive the Prologue of the Guardian, it is understandable.

As for He Jun and Chen Tianming, who joined the team later and only contributed in the Land of Chaos, they also took supportive roles, so why did they receive the Guardian Medal?

That’s where Wang Jian’s doubts lay.

At this moment, it wasn’t just Wang Jian who was puzzled; He Jun and others were equally confused, still in a dizzy state from the beginning until now, looking at the medals on their chests with somewhat dazed expressions.

All of this seemed like a dream.

In fact, Wang Jian didn’t know that the high-level officials evenly distributed the credit for Lin Feng closing the Land of Chaos among the other team members, or otherwise, Lin Feng would have received not just the Guardian Medal, but the Prologue of the Guardian.

This is a medal that can only be obtained with merits in guarding the nation.

It is also the highest-grade medal.

Nationwide, there are 179 people with the Guardian Medal, with the addition of 17 from the Lin Feng squad this time, making a total of 196 people. The Guardian Medal is held by only 37 people, each a national guardian hero.

Currently, among Hua Country’s Thirteen Emperors, only three possess the Guardian Medal.

”Alright, my task is complete, but there is one more thing to tell you.”

Wang Jian looked towards Lin Feng as he spoke, though his expression was somewhat hesitant.

”What is it?” Lin Feng asked directly.

”This time you’re planning to seal the Seven-Star and Eight-Star grade space gates, right?”

”Yes, but the premise for sealing is that the Key is not taken by the aliens.”

Hearing Lin Feng’s statement, Wang Jian seemed to want to say something but stopped, hesitating for a bit before finally speaking: ”With your strength, can you enter the Nine-Star grade space gate?”

Lin Feng frowned slightly.

With their current strength, entering the Nine-Star grade space gate would be very dangerous.

A life-threatening danger!

In the Land of Chaos, as well as in the Maple Forest, their ability to hunt Kings was largely due to spatial suppression. Because of this suppression, the Kings’ powers were limited.

However, a Nine-Star grade space gate already allows a King to exert most of their power.

One careless move, and the entire squad might face total annihilation.

There, self-preservation is already challenging, let alone their current status as a primary target for alien extermination. If they appear, they will inevitably face relentless siege.

It’s certainly not feasible now, at least not in the short term.

Before participating in the plan, Lin Feng didn’t want to expose the full strength of the squad.

Revealing their strength would also indirectly expose He Jun’s capabilities.

At this critical juncture, Lin Feng didn’t want any unexpected complications.

Now is not the time to show their true strength.

Seeing Lin Feng frown slightly without responding, and noticing others with serious expressions, Wang Jian shook his head slightly in a sigh and said: ”I must be overthinking; you all are already exceptional.”

Wang Jian knew that the Lin Feng squad’s capabilities were definitely not just as they appeared!

Being able to seal an Eight-Star grade space gate is already incredibly astounding!

The higher the space gate level, the harder it is to seal.

Sealing a Nine-Star grade space gate is not impossible, but the cost is too great, with potential heavy casualties.

Never has a person or organization publicly announced the sealing of a Nine-Star grade space gate.

Perhaps the Lin Feng squad could achieve it one day, but that day is in the future, a decade away; it’s too soon now.

”That’s all, I’ll take my leave now.” Wang Jian said, turning to leave.

”Wait.”

Just as he was about to open the door, Lin Feng suddenly called out, causing Wang Jian to turn around, his expression filled with doubt.

”Speak frankly, maybe it’s achievable.”

Lin Feng said to Wang Jian.

If nothing unexpected happens, the King Becoming plan will start in half a year, with competition for slots.

They have six months of preparation.

In six months, sealing the Seven-Star and Eight-Star space gates could elevate their strength to a new level.

Half a year later, entering the Nine-Star grade space gate to complete a task is not impossible.

Of course, the premise is that the task remains undisclosed.

”Is it possible?”

Wang Jian’s eyes showed surprise, along with disbelief.

It was apparent he found it hard to believe the Lin Feng squad truly dared to enter a Nine-Star grade space gate, but the Lin Feng squad is proficient in creating miracles; the impossible seems to become possible.

”Just say it directly.”

Lin Feng impatiently replied.

He disliked the way Wang Jian was speaking hesitantly.

Wang Jian, unfazed by Lin Feng’s impatience, decisively said: ”The higher-ups hope you can enter the Nine-Star grade space gate to rescue someone?”

”Rescue someone? Who?”

Lin Feng asked.

”I can’t say who, but they are very important, both to the country and potentially to the entire nation.”

Lin Feng did not immediately respond.

Rescuing someone without disclosing their identity was evidently for confidentiality.

It was likely someone of great importance in scientific research.

Possibly someone significant even to the aliens.

Otherwise, the rescue target would have been killed outright if they weren’t valuable.

At that moment, Yun Kai and the others were all watching Lin Feng, waiting for his decision.

That the state would be helpless makes it clear that the mission is not simple, perhaps even impossibly difficult.

In Wang Jian’s view, Lin Feng would refuse.

But after a moment of silence, Lin Feng said, ”We can, but we need fourteen Divine Level Soul Skills!”
