Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 204: Chapter 167: Task Assignment_2

”Half-beastman Yun Kai, and Sea Demoness have also arrived.”

”Are they here for the fun? Aren’t the freshmen too idle lately?”

The instant Lin Feng and his companions appeared, they drew a lot of attention.

As freshmen, even a super genius, it’s still too early to take on missions. People assumed they were just here to watch.

”Oh...”

Yu Qiao, the old schemer, also noticed Lin Feng and the others.

Today, their team’s plan was to enter the Otherworld to hunt Demon Beasts. But as usual, they first visited the task hall; if they found a convenient mission, they would take it.

Earn a little whenever possible.

Martial Artists are always short on money; their earnings never match their spending.

For Demon Spirit Masters, this is even more true; the powerful Demon Spirit Masters are like Gold-devouring Beasts.

Even as a Strong Chart expert and the vice-president of the student council, Yu Qiao was no exception. He was not just poor; he owed considerable debts.

”I want to issue a task.”

Approaching the task issuance counter, Lin Feng paid a deposit following the staff’s guidance and released a mission.

”Escort Mission: Escort three freshmen to search for Demon Spirits. Only search assistance needed, no hunting help required, to be completed in 12 hours. Task requirement: Five-person adventure team, Silver Level, task reward of 500 points.”

The moment this new task appeared on the big screen, it attracted the students’ attention.

Though there are tasks worth 500 points, they’re relatively rare; task points usually don’t exceed 100.

And the Silver Level requirement is quite high.

At Red Cloud University, based on points and completion rate, adventure teams are divided into Raw Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Diamond levels.

Each adventure team consists of four to seven members.

Almost all freshmen are Raw Iron level, and Bronze level is rare.

Work University has nearly ten thousand adventure teams, and only 105 are Silver level.

Gold level has 7 teams, and Diamond level only 2 teams.

The teams that reach Gold level or higher consist of senior Strong Chart experts.

Silver level adventure teams are also formidable, filled with top Strong Chart experts.

Hiring a Silver Squad for 500 points is normal, not excessive.

However, this task requires only half a day and is an escort mission. Ensuring the escort’s safety is simple, safe, and fast, so 500 points are considerable, showing the issuer’s generosity, truly affluent.

”Three freshmen, isn’t it the Lin Feng group we saw earlier?”

”Apart from them, which other freshmen dare to enter the Otherworld? Even if they dared, they wouldn’t have the money!”

”Truly affluent, a 500-point half-day tour.”

”What are they doing in the Otherworld? Lin Feng is scheduled to enter the Demon Spirit Realm tomorrow, and Yun Kai and Dong Yunan are still in the Body Cultivation Realm and shouldn’t absorb Soul Skills yet!”

Many discussed the task, evidently interested, but the high Silver level requirement immediately eliminated most.

However, despite the few Silver Squads, they exist, and given the appealing task, soon five Silver Squads accepted it.

Having accepted the task, following information prompts, these five squads sequentially approached Lin Feng.

Seeing the task issuer, the five squads seemed prepared, showing no surprise. One squad, not too interested in points, was more intrigued by Lin Feng’s group.

”Brother Feng, here are five squads, how should we choose?”

Dong Yunan quietly asked, looking at the twenty-five people before them.

To her, all five squads consist of senior experts; choosing anyone wouldn’t be favorable as it might offend others.

”Based on points, choose whoever has the most points!”

A young man in black clothes boldly suggested upon hearing Dong Yunan.

Clearly, he suggested this because his squad held the most points.

Other squads frowned slightly but couldn’t oppose the idea.

It’s a simple escort mission with no specifics, merely requiring Silver level, naturally favoring higher points.

You can’t start a direct brawl over a task.

Even being Silver Squads, strength differences are minor; none would easily yield. Determining a winner would be tough, and uncontrolled fighting could lead to serious injury, not worth the risk.

”Then...”

Just as Lin Feng was about to nod in agreement, a lazy yet domineering voice declared: ”I’ll take this mission.”

Five figures quickly approached, led by a young man with a dagger, medium build, single eyelid, small eyes, seemingly nondescript. Upon reaching the crowd, he waved off the other squads: ”You’ve wasted a trip, don’t waste time, go and choose another task.”

Seeing it was Yu Qiao, the old schemer, the crowd frowned almost in unison, murmuring complaints. Four squads promptly left without hesitation.

Initially holding a sliver of hope, Yu Qiao’s arrival dashed it completely.

None wished to compete with the old schemer.

”That Chrysanthemum Monster, still so arrogant.”

”Arrogant? He got kicked out of the squad!”

”Pitiful indeed, from glory to competing for tasks with us.”

Driven away, many watched with schadenfreude.

Yu Qiao was a former member of the Diamond Squad, whose adventure team ’Red Lightning’ was Red Cloud Team’s exclusive, its members being core team fighters.

Too arrogant, Yu Qiao was expelled from the team, consequently also removed from the adventure squad.
