Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 162: Chapter 143: Abnormal People

The benefit of eating at the cafeteria is the variety of dishes, which can satisfy the tastes of every member of Lin Feng’s team.

Surrounded by a crowd, Lin Feng and his group were having dinner.

Although it was the cafeteria, the dinner was sumptuous, filling the round dining table to the brim.

Most freshmen felt displeased about the special windows and dining areas of the cafeteria, which led to a sense of hostility towards those enjoying such privileges.

However, even with hostility, the brilliance of Lin Feng and his group was too dazzling, and their every move continued to attract people’s attention.

Naturally, this valuable dinner intrigued them.

”So rich, so extravagant, so wealthy!”

Many freshmen exclaimed in awe.

Twenty-seven dishes, plentiful in quantity, with only five being vegetables, the rest all meat dishes made of Demon Beast flesh, costing at least hundreds of thousands.

Spending hundreds of thousands on a meal was excessively extravagant for many.

Initially, they were quite satisfied with the cafeteria’s meals, but after seeing Lin Feng’s dinner, they looked down at their own and suddenly felt a bit tasteless.

”Truly wealthy!”

”I heard Lin Feng made over a billion from endorsements; this is nothing for him.”

”They have scholarships too, a billion a year—truly wealthy.”

”Yun Kai is backed by the Extraordinary Race, and Little Sister Dong’s father is the vice president of the Jiang City Demon Spirit Master Association. None of the three lack money.”

”They even have Second Grade Cloud Bear barbecue, which costs fifty thousand per serving. Can freshmen handle such enriching food?”

Someone recognized one of the meat dishes and couldn’t help but marvel.

The Second Grade Cloud Bear is delicious and nourishing, but for freshmen, it’s too rich in Qi and Blood. Eating like this—aren’t they afraid they won’t digest well and get nosebleeds?

The fact is, Lin Feng and Yun Kai weren’t worried at all.

Both had excellent appetites, each able to eat more than the other.

Lin Feng absorbed and integrated Qi and Blood much faster than average due to the Nightmare within him.

As for Yun Kai, he was extraordinarily gifted!

His ancestral Demon talk bloodline bestowed him with extraordinary talents and a physique akin to a Demon Beast. Even Lin Feng couldn’t compare, making him like a humanoid Demon Beast.

”Oh, the Abnormal People are here!” Suddenly, someone exclaimed in surprise.

The tone of surprise seemed as if they’d seen something peculiar.

But upon closer listening, there wasn’t much surprise; rather, there was more mockery and disgust, showing a lack of friendliness.

Lin Feng and his group didn’t particularly react to this tone of surprise. Yun Kai, however, appeared a bit sensitive, his body trembling slightly as if electrocuted, becoming somewhat rigid.

For him, this tone was very familiar.

As familiar as hearing his own name, etched in his bones, unforgettable.

”Really? They don’t look any different from us, do they?”

”Normal? Didn’t you see they’re wearing hats? Those hybrid with Alien blood, just looking at them is disgusting!”

All sorts of discussions and mocking voices filled the cafeteria.

Lin Feng put down his chopsticks, and following people’s gazes, looked not far away where three figures appeared at the cafeteria entrance, slowly approaching.

Two men and a woman, the three looked not much different from ordinary people, the only difference was that they all wore hats.

Facing the onlookers, their pace clearly quickened, their expressions slightly changing.

Among them, leading was a handsome young man. His face had some bruises, his right eye bloodshot. Faced with the unfriendly looks and discussions around, his eyes were like a fierce wolf’s, scanning the surroundings, but it only resulted in more disdainful teasing and jeering.

”What’s wrong, dissatisfied, want to spar?”

Many stood up, eager to try, eager to show off.

Seeing this, the young man’s fists clenched tightly, his chest heaving rapidly, his breath quickened, but ultimately he lowered his head.

Another boy was short and frail, keeping his head slightly lowered the whole time, saying nothing, while the girl followed behind the two boys, her shoulder-length hair covering most of her face. Faced with the crowd’s attention and gossip, her body trembled slightly, like a frightened young beast.

”Are they really Abnormal People? They look no different from humans.”

Dong Yunan looked at the three curiously, his eyes somewhat brazen.

”Don’t keep staring at them!” Lin Feng said.

Such curious glances, though without malice, were very impolite.

Curiosity, it also confirmed the other’s uniqueness.

Uniqueness!

If not representing glory, then often it signifies a kind of shame.

So, after one look, he quickly withdrew his gaze.

Lin Feng was not unfamiliar with Abnormal People.

In the Otherworld, apart from countless Demon Beasts, there are also some mysterious races, among which the most numerous and powerful are the Alien Races.

The Alien Races, from appearance, apart from horns on their foreheads, are almost indistinguishable from humans.

Although the government deliberately controls information on this aspect, everyone knows that compared to Demon Beasts, these hidden Alien Races are humanity’s greatest threat.

The fight between humans, Demon Beasts, and Alien Races for the key to the Space Gate has never ceased!

Every year, countless humans die at the hands of Alien Races, and similarly, humans take pride in killing Alien Races.

The horn on an Alien Race’s forehead is a medal of honor.

Even though this horn is of no real use.

On the black market, Alien Race horns are rare commodities.

Even the lowest-grade black horns start at a price of ten thousand, while higher-grade brown horns go for millions.

Many powerful Martial Artists’ homes have collections of such horns!

In their view, Alien Race horns are symbols of courage and honor.

Like a medal of merit.

When Lin Feng and Gao Hai were kids, they saw these horns at a classmate’s house.

Three spiral horns, varying in size, two black, one brown, were made into artworks and placed prominently in the center of the living room.

Lin Feng could clearly recall the classmate’s tone and expression of pride when showing off these horns, while he and Gao Hai were somewhat envious, wanting to touch them, but were sternly refused.

And Abnormal People, born of Alien Races and humans, bear Alien bloodlines, having a horn on their forehead like them.

This very horn resulted in them being discriminated against and hated from birth.

Some Abnormal People even mysteriously disappear at a young age, others found tragically dead in garbage dumps, with a bloody wound left on the forehead, the horn gone.

It wasn’t until later that the government enacted laws for protection, allowing Abnormal People to grow up safely.

But even with legal protection, mockery and hatred accompanied them all their lives.

This situation was somewhat similar to Yun Kai!

However, Yun Kai bore more because his appearance couldn’t be hidden, unlike Abnormal People who could wear a hat and look almost no different from ordinary people.

”Oh!”

Dong Yunan quickly responded, quietly glancing at Yun Kai, obediently retracting his gaze.

Under everyone’s watch, the three Abnormal People quickly took their meals at the window and went to a relatively unattended corner to eat. They didn’t speak throughout the meal,

Fortunately, besides the initial exclamations and discussions, no one bothered them.

The three, wearing hats, ate rapidly, had no exchanges, didn’t even play on their phones, finishing their dinner in just three minutes, rushing out of everyone’s sight.

”How do you feel?”

Watching the departing backs, Lin Feng frowned slightly.

From the moment these three Abnormal People appeared, the Nightmare that had been dormant within him awoke, becoming somewhat restless, continually letting out evil roars only he could hear.
