Inside the guesthouse, the room wasn’t large.

Next to the bed was a nightstand. On the desk opposite, two bottles of mineral water and a tea set were neatly arranged. Beside them were several boxes of different types of Durex condoms.

The curtains were drawn. Not only was the main room light on, but the desk lamp was on as well. It seemed as if he desperately wanted every single light in the room to be on.

Sun Beixi sat on the edge of the bed, looking completely drained.

His eyes were bloodshot, his hair was a messy, sticking up all over, and his lips were chapped and peeling. A layer of stubble had sprouted on his chin.

But the worst part was his current state...

He was clearly dead tired, his eyelids drooping, but the moment he closed them, they would snap open again. His whole body would shudder as if startled by something.

When Zhai Jia walked in and saw Sun Beixi’s condition, his eyes nearly popped out of his head. ”Dude, what the hell is...”

’This is way too over the top!!!’

He turned to look at Wan Ze, and the two exchanged a glance.

Zhai Jia then walked over and circled Sun Beixi, sizing him up. He couldn’t help but lean down and touch his forehead. ”You don’t have a fever.”

He then squeezed Sun Beixi’s shoulder and poked his arm, as if studying some strange new species.

”Bro, be straight with me. Was there really... a female ghost? Or were you just freaked out by something... and imagined it? I’m not judging, it’s totally normal. I even know a few experts in psychology and mental health...”

”N-No, it wasn’t fake. It was real,” Sun Beixi said hurriedly. When he looked up, his eyes were incredibly bloodshot.

But he didn’t know how to explain it.

He could only turn to Wan Ze in desperation. ”You’re the expert, you have to save me!”

Wan Ze sat down across from him and said soothingly, ”Take your time. Start by describing what happened. I’m listening.”

Sun Beixi swallowed hard, took a deep breath, and began his story.

He talked about how he had dreamt of the woman in white the first time he fell asleep, and how she had chased him, trying to cut him down... When he got to the part about how he couldn’t escape no matter how he ran or hid, his voice filled with despair.

Then he explained that she would appear the moment he closed his eyes and vanish as soon as he opened them.

It had gone on until just now, when he had started foaming at the mouth and thought he was about to die.

Perhaps because he was so traumatized, his story was a bit jumbled, but the details were crystal clear... The female ghost was dressed in white, with long hair, no eyes, and carried a Broken Sword.

After listening, Wan Ze was silent for a few seconds before asking, ”When was the first time you dreamt of her?”

Sun Beixi thought for a moment and gave him a time.

Wan Ze did a quick mental calculation, and his expression grew much more serious.

’The timing... it matches up.’

He could confirm that the first time he had encountered the Female Sword Immortal in that other world... was actually after Sun Beixi had his first nightmare.

In other words, she had gone after Sun Beixi first, and only then had she come for him.

And while he had been focused on his Cultivation, she had entered someone’s dream again.

What’s more, Sun Beixi’s nightmares had clearly gotten worse.

However, she had entered Sun Beixi’s dreamscape first, and only afterward appeared in the world he was in.

That meant she couldn’t appear in two places at once.

’As for what the medium for entering the dream is...’

Wan Ze glanced at Sun Beixi, a thoughtful look on his face. He had a faint suspicion, but he didn’t voice it since it still needed to be verified.

Zhai Jia had been listening from the side, completely dumbfounded. When Sun Beixi finished, he couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

As they both looked over, he waved his hands apologetically. ”Sorry, sorry, I’m not making fun of you, really... It’s just this whole female ghost thing... As a believer in science, I just can’t buy it. Old Sun, I think you’re just under too much stress.”

Zhai Jia patted Sun Beixi’s shoulder and said earnestly, ”Listen, back when I hit a bottleneck in my training, I used to have nightmares all the time too. I’d dream of being chased and beaten, and I’d wake up drenched in sweat. It’s normal. You just need to regulate yourself a bit and you’ll be fine.”

Sun Beixi grew anxious and quickly explained, ”No! Master Zhai, it’s not like that! The ghost is real! I could feel the pain when she cut me! I really thought I was going to die!”

”That’s dreams for you, of course they feel real.” Zhai Jia had the expression of someone who had seen it all. ”Listen to me, just get a good night’s sleep tonight. Don’t think about all that crazy stuff, and you’ll definitely be fine.”

Sun Beixi shook his head, then suddenly remembered something, and his face turned even paler.

”I suspect... the ruins left by that princess are cursed.”

His voice trembled as he spoke. ”Didn’t I bring back a pickaxe? You definitely can’t touch that thing! You guys... you didn’t bring the coffin back, did you?”

Zhai Jia couldn’t help but ask, ”You actually believe in that stuff?”

Sun Beixi looked at Wan Ze.

Wan Ze nodded.

Sun Beixi slapped his forehead. ”Then it’s over.”

He then started muttering to himself, saying things like he should have never touched that stuff, that he was completely done for now, and that the female ghost must have crawled out of the coffin.

Zhai Jia listened, shaking his head. He stood up and started walking out. ”Wait here. I’ll go get something good for you. Guaranteed to be an instant cure.”

Sun Beixi stared blankly as he left, then turned back to Wan Ze. ”Wan Ze, will you go with me to return that pickaxe? Maybe it’ll help...”

Wan Ze shook his head. ”There’s nothing wrong with the pickaxe.”

With that, he stood up and walked over to Sun Beixi. ”Lie down.”

Sun Beixi was taken aback. ”Huh?”

”Lie down, on your stomach. I’ll give you a massage.”

Sun Beixi obediently lay down on his stomach.

Wan Ze placed his hands on Sun Beixi’s back and began to apply pressure along his meridians. His technique was very professional, the force neither too light nor too heavy, with each press landing on a key point.

Sun Beixi was tense at first, but gradually, his body began to relax. The exhaustion that had been clinging to him seemed to genuinely dissipate a little.
