Martial Dao: Peace by Force

Chapter 182: Chapter 140: Double Kill! Divine Martial Is Nothing Special

Outside the gymnasium entrance.

The glaring sun shone on the steps, and the scent of jasmine from a recent cleaning hung in the air.

The Ming Family was walking out. Ming Lei’s arm was in a sling, and Ming Wei was supporting him. None of them looked happy.

Wan Ze and Tan Xiao walked at the rear. Ming Zhaojun and Ming Venerable had already gotten into their car; the old master’s health was not what it used to be and he couldn’t handle such commotion, so they had left early.

Just as this group of juniors stepped out of the main entrance, a figure suddenly blocked their path.

”Sheng Rulong? What do you think you’re doing?” Ming Wei’s expression changed slightly as she snapped.

Sheng Rulong stood at the bottom of the steps, ignoring the glares from the Ming Family’s younger generation. His gaze was fixed on Wan Ze. He raised his arm and cupped his fist in a respectful gesture. ”Master Wan, my name is Sheng Rulong. I boldly request the honor of a lesson.”

He looked up, his eyes meeting Wan Ze’s, and said in a sincere tone, ”I have long heard of Dragon Eagle’s renown. Seeing you today, my heart is filled with admiration. I wouldn’t dare call it a challenge, but merely ask for a pointer or two to broaden my horizons.”

His words were well-spoken.

Flawless.

Zhou Yuan of the Divine Martial Society wanted him to present a pledge of allegiance, but Dragon Eagle... he didn’t dare to provoke them either.

But...

Tan Xiao’s brows were already furrowed.

The people from the Divine Martial Society always loved to stir up trouble. They had been full of taunts and sarcasm when they first met, and now Sheng Rulong was blocking their path to ask for a lesson... Only a fool would believe this wasn’t all planned.

But regardless of their scheme, Tan Xiao immediately stepped forward and said coldly, ”Fine. I’ll fight you.”

The words had barely left his mouth when another voice cut in from the side. ”Well now, Brother Tan, planning on bullying the young?”

At some point, Zhao Ying had emerged from behind a nearby pillar. He wore a smile, but it was dripping with sarcasm no matter how you looked at it.

Behind him, Zhou Yuan also appeared, following at a leisurely pace with his arms crossed, looking like he was just there to watch a show.

Zhao Ying walked closer, looking Tan Xiao up and down before tutting twice. ”Brother Tan, you’re a senior disciple at Dragon Eagle, aren’t you? How old is Sheng Rulong, and you want to fight him? There’s no honor in winning, and if you lose...”

He trailed off with a smirk.

Tan Xiao’s face darkened. ”Do you Divine Martial Society bastards only know how to be sarcastic? If you’ve got the guts, let’s fight!”

Zhao Ying raised an eyebrow. ”Alright.”

It seemed he had been ready for this all along.

The moment the word was out, he lunged forward!

The faces of Ming Lei and the other Ming Family members all changed.

’This is bad! Trouble’s about to start!’

...

Zhao Ying’s legs were as fast as a pair of whips. He attacked with a chain of three kicks, which whistled through the air as they aimed for the vital points on Tan Xiao’s chest and abdomen.

Tan Xiao blocked with both arms, his Iron Mountain Fist style hard and direct. His fists slammed into Zhao Ying’s kicks one after another, producing a series of dull thuds.

But Zhao Ying was too fast.

His Leg Technique wasn’t about a single fatal blow, but a continuous, flowing assault.

The instant his left leg was parried, his right leg was already sweeping in from another angle.

Just as Tan Xiao stabilized his stance, a high whip kick was already chopping down toward his ear.

In a flash, the fourth kick.

Tan Xiao dodged to the side, stumbling a step.

Zhao Ying threw his fifth kick.

A spinning hook kick, the wind from its passage like a blade, aimed straight for the back of Tan Xiao’s neck!

Tan Xiao turned to block but was half a beat too slow.

”BAM!”

The kick landed squarely on his forearm, the impact sending Tan Xiao stumbling sideways.

Before he could regain his footing, Zhao Ying’s sixth kick arrived.

A low sweep, viciously kicking the outside of Tan Xiao’s calf.

Tan Xiao dropped to one knee.

As he gritted his teeth and tried to get up, Zhao Ying had already retracted his leg and stepped back, standing with his hands behind his back without even sparing him a glance.

”I was merely the better fighter.”

His tone was light and dismissive.

Tan Xiao’s face was ashen. He clenched his fists to push himself up, but a hand pressed down on his shoulder.

He turned his head to look.

It was Wan Ze.

He had watched the exchange between Tan Xiao and Zhao Ying. If it continued, Tan Xiao would have undoubtedly suffered a major loss.

He glanced at Tan Xiao’s leg. There was no serious injury; he had just taken a few hard hits and couldn’t put strength into it for the moment. Only then did Wan Ze feel relieved.

Wan Ze looked up at Zhao Ying.

Zhao Ying was also looking at him, a smile on his face. ”Master Wan. Now it’s your turn. I suggest you fight Sheng Rulong. Otherwise... it won’t look very good when I’m the one who personally beats you to the ground.”

Wan Ze ignored him.

He helped Tan Xiao up. ”Rest well. I’ll take it from here.”

Tan Xiao was taken aback. ”Ah Ze, you—”

”I’ll fight you,” Wan Ze said.

Before Tan Xiao could even react, Wan Ze had already taken two steps forward, positioning himself in the center of the open space.

But the person he was looking at now was Zhao Ying, not Sheng Rulong.

”Fight me?”

Zhao Ying was stunned for a moment.

Zhou Yuan was also stunned for a moment, but a cold smirk quickly appeared on his lips.

’What’s this about?’

’This kid doesn’t want to fight Sheng Rulong, he wants to fight Zhao Ying?’

’He really has no idea what’s good for him.’

He glanced at Zhao Ying, and the two exchanged a look. What a shame... The original plan was to have Sheng Rulong test this kid, but it seemed Sheng Rulong wouldn’t be needed after all.

Sheng Rulong, who had been standing to the side witnessing everything, saw his expression darken almost instantly.

He had blocked their path to request a fight, humbled himself, and spoken eloquently, all to get Wan Ze to accept his challenge.

But in the end, Wan Ze didn’t even glance at him and directly called out Zhao Ying instead.

This was fucking blatant disregard.

Sheng Rulong clenched his fists, the fire in his chest flaring up again.

Zhao Ying was already smiling.

A very relaxed smile.

He walked forward, rolling his ankles as he went. ”Master Wan, you’ve got some nerve. Since you’ve singled me out for a fight, I’ll be happy to oblige.”

He then stopped and looked at Wan Ze, a hint of pity in his eyes.

’This young man truly doesn’t know his own limits.’

’Tan Xiao is Wan Ze’s senior brother, and his skill was nothing special.’

’How much stronger could Wan Ze, his junior brother, possibly be?’

’Later... I’ll have to make this kid kneel and beg for mercy.’

”Come on, let’s start,” Zhao Ying said, crooking a finger.

Then he moved.
