Martial Dao: Peace by Force

Chapter 152: Chapter 122: Dragon Eagle Imparts Another New Technique! High-Tier Technique Achieved

’But those eyes... they’re truly sharp.’

However, Situ Bai’s words instantly invigorated him. ”Master, what Martial Skill are you going to teach me?”

Situ Bai pondered for a moment before speaking. ”The Iron Mountain Fist is all about the basics, for building a solid foundation. Once you’ve thoroughly mastered it, there are actually quite a few Martial Skills you can learn. There are Body Techniques, Leg Techniques, Capture techniques, and Weapon techniques... But from what I can see of your fundamentals, you must already be practicing another Martial Skill, right?”

Wan Ze’s expression changed slightly.

’He hadn’t just kept the matter of practicing the *Taiyin Breathing Technique* from his master.’

’I can’t believe he found out...’

”Master, I...”

Wan Ze started to explain, but Situ Bai waved a hand, cutting him off. ”I knew from the beginning but didn’t intervene. I just came by occasionally to test your Iron Mountain Fist because I wanted to see if you could manage both... And you, kid, haven’t disappointed me.”

Wan Ze was taken aback, then gave an embarrassed smile. ”It wasn’t my intention to hide it from you, Master. I just didn’t know... if I should say anything.”

He had indeed struggled with it.

His master had shown him great kindness, teaching him a Fist Technique and accepting him as a disciple.

But some things were impossible to say.

Even if he claimed to be a genius... it would easily attract unwanted attention.

Of course, he wasn’t implying that Situ Bai was one of those people.

Situ Bai looked at him and chided with a laugh, ”You’re just too guarded, kid.”

He paused for a moment, his tone softening. ”But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. What is the purpose of practicing martial arts? To make ourselves stronger. If you come across an Evil Martial Skill and you’re not sure about it, you can ask me. If you can make up your own mind, then follow your own path. As long as you don’t walk a crooked path or betray your master and ancestors, everything else is fine.”

Wan Ze was deeply moved.

He looked at the white-haired old man before him, suddenly at a loss for words.

His master was usually a man of few words, just guarding the martial arts hall day after day, teaching fist techniques, drinking tea, and basking in the sun.

But only now did he realize that his master saw everything and understood everything; he just didn’t say it aloud.

”The foundation of our Dragon Eagle Martial Arts Hall may not be the strongest, but it is by no means weak,” Situ Bai said slowly, his voice tinged with emotion. ”I’ve already reached the end of my road, so I know its limits. Your talent surpasses even your eldest senior brother’s. Naturally... I also hope you can combine the strengths of many schools and forge your own path to the heavens.”

Warmth spread through Wan Ze’s chest. He adopted a serious expression, clasped his fists, and bowed. ”I will not disappoint you!”

Situ Bai waved his hand, treating the declaration as something for the distant future.

It was good for a young man to be ambitious, but the path had to be walked one step at a time.

He smiled and switched to a lighter tone. ”Your senior brothers, and your second senior sister, all started cultivating our Dragon Eagle’s Dragon Eagle Combat Skill after mastering the Iron Mountain Fist.”

Wan Ze’s eyes lit up again.

”This Combat Skill set has a total of eighteen moves. With these eighteen moves as the foundation, it can evolve into ten thousand techniques.”

As Situ Bai spoke, he stood up and walked to the center of the room. ”When combined with the Force Manipulation Technique of the Dragon Eagle Secret Martial Arts, its ultimate Punching Power far exceeds ordinary Fist Techniques. A single punch can make a person look like they’ve been torn apart by an eagle’s beak, with a Penetrating Force that bores right through. Do you want to learn it?”

”I do!” Wan Ze replied without hesitation.

Situ Bai nodded and stood firm in the center of the room.

His hands were behind his back, his posture ramrod straight.

”Then today, I, your master, will teach you the Dragon Eagle Combat Skill.”

He turned to face Wan Ze and slowly raised a hand.

”This Fist Technique is called the ’Dragon Eagle Eighteen Hands.’ It is divided into two parts. The first part’s nine stances are called ’Dragon,’ focusing on unyielding power, Beng Jin, and wide, sweeping movements. The second part’s nine stances are called ’Eagle,’ focusing on sharp ferocity, Capture techniques, and cunning, ruthless attacks.”

”The dragon follows the clouds; the eagle follows the wind. The dragon has the power to overturn rivers and seas; the eagle has the speed to pierce clouds and mist. When the two are combined, hardness and softness complement each other—that is the true essence of the Dragon Eagle.”

The moment Situ Bai finished speaking, his figure suddenly moved.

With just a single step, his entire aura changed dramatically.

He was clearly still the same gaunt old man, yet in that instant, to Wan Ze’s eyes, he seemed like a mountain erupting from the earth or a giant eagle spreading its wings to strike.

”First stance: Hidden Dragon Emerges from the Abyss!”

The old man threw a punch. Its momentum was heavy but not sluggish, its force contained but not revealed. It was like a dragon lurking in the abyss—calm on the surface, but concealing a monstrous wave beneath.

Wan Ze stared, not even daring to breathe.

’So this is the Dragon Eagle Combat Skill!’

’It seems terrifyingly powerful!’

”How much did you remember?” Situ Bai asked.

Wan Ze nodded. ”Pretty much all of it.”

Situ Bai froze.

Right in front of him, Wan Ze began to perform the eighteen stances of the Dragon Eagle Combat Skill.

The old man was stunned at first, but then he took a deep breath, a sense of wild joy washing over him.

’I’ve struck gold!’

...

After having lunch at Situ Bai’s place, Wan Ze finally left on his own.

He buried himself in the cultivation of the Dragon Eagle Combat Skill.

”Three hundred hours...”

Wan Ze took a deep breath.

He wasn’t in a hurry anymore.

For the next few days, he remained engrossed in his cultivation.

He practiced his fist techniques as usual, went to school as usual, and bantered with Zhou Xianchuan as usual.

When he occasionally passed through the eastern part of the city, he would remember the bookstore Gao Qi had mentioned, but he only thought about it and never made a special trip to find it.

Life went on peacefully.

On this particular day, he hadn’t received any news from Tie Qingyang about a new Martial Skill, but Zhai Jia showed up instead.

Wan Ze had just finished a set of fist techniques and hadn’t even caught his breath when he saw Zhai Jia saunter in through the main gate, holding an unlit cigarette between his lips.
