Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 2102: Chapter 2102: Light-Year Interval (31)

”Have you found the place?” Chuzheng looked at the sea area.

”No.”

”Then how do you know it’s real?” With today’s technology, it’s so easy to fabricate something.

Marshal Kelly: ”That’s why I and the Fifth Legion find this suspicious.”

If the other side really had such powerful strength, they could easily force their way to the Imperial Capital Star and demand them to hand over people.

Even if that race is more courteous, they could still send someone to negotiate.

Why did the other side just send a short message, transmitting something like this without any trace?

There’s been constant debate about this issue these days.

The people of the First Legion think that since they want people, just hand them over; they could follow behind and eventually find them.

This method is too reckless, so Marshal Kelly naturally disagreed.

The most crucial point is, what does Wei Shi have on him that is worthwhile for the other party?

Wei Shi’s information has long been in their hands, but from the information, there doesn’t seem to be any major issues.

This information was altered by Wei Canghai’s people, and Chuzheng found this out too; it’s all useless info.

”What is the First Legion planning to do? Hand over Wei Shi?”

”...” Marshal Kelly shook his head: ”He’ll likely be interrogated first.”

The First Legion definitely wants to ensure Wei Shi is under their control. According to the First Legion’s usual style, after interrogation, he would either be broken in spirit or suffer physically.

-

Chuzheng left the Marshal’s Mansion and sent the footage just now to Du Bang.

”Check this place, determine the location as soon as possible.”

Du Bang quickly complied.

”Miss, and you?”

”Going to the First Legion.”

”???” Du Bang was puzzled: ”What for?”

”To rescue someone.”

”Huh?”

Chuzheng, solo, headed to the First Legion Base. Using her identity as a Counselor of the Second Legion, getting inside wasn’t challenging.

However, she could only enter the main gate of the base; other areas were clearly off-limits.

As the people ahead weren’t paying attention, Chuzheng slipped into the shadows. Instantly, Yin Xian wrapped around her, and she vanished into the air.

The First Legion’s base was completely different from the Second Legion’s base. Chuzheng took quite some time and finally followed someone to the place where Wei Shi was held.

Wei Shi had just been captured not long ago. Despite being somewhat disheveled, he hadn’t suffered any injuries.

He sat on the ground, looking up at a spherical object at the top. The object floated in the air, with electricity flowing out and falling in arcs, forming a dome-shaped cell.

Wei Shi tapped his fingers on the ground from time to time, and after observing for a while, Chuzheng thought he was timing something.

The spherical object’s overflow currents had a discernible pattern.

Every minute or so, a slightly larger gap appeared, but it was definitely not big enough for a person to pass through.

Chuzheng stood outside watching, not in a rush to rescue him.

About half an hour later, the young man stood up from the ground and shouted to someone standing not far away: ”I want some water.”

”What water?” The person replied grumpily: ”Stay put!”

”Why did you capture me here?”

”You’ll naturally know soon enough.” The person was impatient.

The young man’s voice turned sharp: ”Is this how the Allied Army randomly captures people? Without even an explanation, am I just a target for your oppression?”

”Hey, you brat...” The person walked toward the cell: ”There are reasons for capturing you, stay put and stop yelling, got it!”

The young man continued: ”I don’t know what I’ve done wrong to be captured and held here by you...”

”Of course, there’s a reason.”

”What reason!”

”You’ll find out soon; stop yelling...”

”Your Allied Army is wantonly taking lives! I haven’t done anything wrong, what right do you have to capture me!”

The person neared the cell, clearly intending to silence him.

In a split second, the young man suddenly reached out, pulled the person inside forcefully through the current, then quickly let go.

The person hit so suddenly that he didn’t even have time to yell.

After finishing this, Wei Shi took several steps back, gasping for breath.

The person lay on the ground, while Wei Shi pulled out a very thin piece of fabric from his clothes, wrapped it around his hand, waiting for the next opportunity when the gap was sufficient for him to reach out.

Wei Shi took several deep breaths and began timing mentally.

Three...

Two...

One...

Wei Shi hesitated not a moment, grabbed the person’s wrist, and pulled him inside.

Wei Shi quickly removed the object from the person’s wrist and pressed the button to stop the release of the current.

As the electric arc gradually disappeared, Wei Shi hadn’t had time to be happy when someone came in from outside and witnessed the scene.

Wei Shi: ”...”

That person froze at first then opened his mouth to call for reinforcements.

”Someone’s...”

Wei Shi watched as that person suddenly vanished into the air, and the girl’s outline gradually reflected in his pupils.

Wei Shi’s pupils slightly widened, his heart uncontrollably raced at that instant.

”You...”

Chuzheng raised a finger signalling him to be silent.

”Come here.”

Wei Shi’s brain was dizzy at the moment, his feet unknowingly moved towards her.

Footsteps outside approached.

Chuzheng wrapped her arms around his waist and pulled him into her embrace.

At the same time, people rushed in outside, their gaze sweeping the room and immediately started reporting: ”Wei Shi has escaped!”

Wei Shi: ”...”

Wei Shi watched them inspecting the room, but no one directed their gaze toward them.

Wei Shi recalled that she had also appeared suddenly...

-

Chuzheng left the base with Wei Shi without hindrance, and when they got into the car, Chuzheng released him. Wei Shi was about to speak when she suddenly leaned down, kissed his forehead.

”Scared?”

Wei Shi: ”...”

He was definitely scared now.

Wei Shi turned his head: ”No.”

”That’s good.” Chuzheng sat beside him, naturally wrapped her arm around his waist: ”Let’s go to my place first, it’s not safe at yours.”

Wei Shi: ”...”

Can Wei Shi say ’no’ now?

No!

With him suddenly missing, the First Legion would definitely turn his place upside down and probably station people there.

They might even issue a warrant for him throughout the Imperial Capital Star.

”...Okay.” Wei Shi responded, and then quietly thanked her: ”Thank you.”

”You’re welcome.”

Chuzheng raised her hand to brush aside the strands of hair on Wei Shi’s forehead, Wei Shi didn’t dodge this time: ”Why did they capture me?”

”You don’t know?”

”Should I know?” That group appeared suddenly without a word of reason, took him away directly.

Chuzheng’s fingers landed on his cheek, turned his face to look at her: ”I’ll tell you when we return.”

”I...”

The light in Wei Shi’s eyes scattered like falling stars, the brilliance in the sky starting to fade away.

His back against the cold car wall, yet his chest was burning hot.

He stared for several seconds, then resignedly closed his eyes.
