Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 758: Chapter 758: The Wicked Woman Farms (14)

Chuzheng pulled out her sleeves and took his hand, leading him out.

Liang Han heated up the vegetables he had bought from the town that evening and served them.

Liang Han caught sight of Qiu Ya at a glance.

There was no helping it, this person was just too good-looking.

Just now, all dirty, he looked like a little beggar, but who knew he’d be so handsome once cleaned up.

He looked all the more curious, who was this person?

Where had Miss Chuzheng snatched him from...

Perhaps Liang Han’s stare was too obvious, as Qiu Ya hid behind Chuzheng, looking frightened.

The corners of Liang Han’s mouth couldn’t help but twitch.

You’re a grown man, what are you hiding behind a woman for!!

”Did you beat up the person I told you to?” Chuzheng asked Liang Han.

”Miss Chuzheng, you didn’t say who to beat up.” Liang Han quickly averted his gaze.

”The household at the very back of the village.”

”I’ll go right now.”

Only after Liang Han had left did Qiu Ya show half his head; he smelled the aroma of the food, swallowed his saliva, but didn’t dare to move.

Chuzheng told him to sit down, ”Eat.”

He looked at Chuzheng.

Then at the food on the table.

He hesitated for quite a while before finally moving.

Chuzheng stopped him, and under Qiu Ya’s panicked gaze, she slowly reminded him, ”You can’t use your hands.”

Qiu Ya looked at the chopsticks handed to him and awkwardly held them.

At that place where the person who often beat him lived, he just used his hands, why couldn’t he use his hands here?

Qiu Ya was somewhat puzzled.

But he didn’t dare to ask.

He was afraid Chuzheng wouldn’t let him eat.

Qiu Ya seemed not to know how to use chopsticks and looked at Chuzheng with a somewhat aggrieved expression.

Chuzheng demonstrated for him.

Qiu Ya still didn’t know how.

Chuzheng sighed and started feeding him with the chopsticks.

Qiu Ya sat obediently, Chuzheng fed him bite by bite, but he was obviously very hungry, gulping it down. If Chuzheng fed him slowly, he would just look at her eagerly.

”Didn’t they feed you?”

”No... they didn’t.” Qiu Ya shook his head: ”So fierce, they all beat me, and even pinched me.”

”They all beat you?” Chuzheng’s eyes grew cold as Qiu Ya nodded, her voice also dropped a few notches, ”Where did they hit you?”

Qiu Ya pointed to several places.

Those were the places with the most severe scars.

”How long have you been there?”

Qiu Ya was puzzled, not quite understanding Chuzheng’s question.

”How long have they been beating you?”

”Don’t... don’t remember.” The first thing he saw when he opened his eyes were them.

All he remembered was that they were very scary.

They wouldn’t feed him and made him do work.

If he didn’t do it well, he’d get beaten.

He felt so miserable...

Qiu Ya seemed to still remember the scenes of being beaten, his body involuntarily shaking. Chuzheng soothingly patted his back, and Qiu Ya found a bit of safety, leaning towards Chuzheng.

Chuzheng then pulled him into her embrace and fed him.

Qiu Ya, without any self-awareness, nestled into her arms, drawing comfort from the sense of security she provided.

Qiu Ya was not at all heavy, his body was all bones when felt.

He needed to be nourished more.

-

After Qiu Ya finished eating, Liang Han returned with two henchmen.

”Miss Chuzheng...”

Liang Han came over with a somewhat grave expression.

Chuzheng wiped Qiu Ya’s mouth, ”What is it?”

”Can you come over for a minute?”

”Go back to your room.” Chuzheng pointed to the room they had just come out of.

Qiu Ya hesitantly stood up, looking back three times with every step he took as he went inside.

Once Qiu Ya was inside, Liang Han finally said, ”About that... they went too far, the person... didn’t make it.”

The two thugs stood behind with their heads lowered.

Who knew they were so fragile.

”Make it clean.”

The Good Person Card had been beaten into this state, it was just as well to get rid of him.

Liang Han: ”...”

Are you a village girl?!?!

”Go check his identity, his name is Qiu Ya.” Chuzheng instructed Liang Han, ”If there’s any trouble, deal with it directly.”

Liang Han: ”...”

We’re just bandits!

Gathering information isn’t suitable for us! Really!!

What do you mean by ’deal with it directly’?!?

”Also, go hire a cook to bring back.” Chuzheng put down some silver, and with Liang Han’s frantic gaze upon her, went into the room.

Qiu Ya curled up on the bed, asleep.

Chuzheng went over and tucked him into the blanket. Qiu Ya woke up with a start, looking at her with frightened eyes.

”It’s okay, go back to sleep.”

Qiu Ya stared at her for a long while, as if confirming there was no danger, before slowly closing his eyes.

-

The next day.

As soon as Chuzheng opened her eyes, she met a pair of eyes clear as a child’s.

Qiu Ya stood by her bed, motionless, like a statue.

Chuzheng: ”...” You, you scared me!

Chuzheng, with no trace of sleepiness left, glanced outside. It was just dawn.

So early, what is the Good Person Card up to?!?!

”What’s wrong?”

”Work.” Qiu Ya said softly.

”No need to work.” Chuzheng got up. ”Go back to sleep.”

”If I don’t work, I won’t have food to eat.” Qiu Ya’s voice was filled with wronged firmness, ”I will work hard.”

Chuzheng was currently feeling a burst of irritation like she wanted to lash out at a corpse.

Chuzheng, trying to be patient: ”With me, you don’t have to work, I will take care of you, just be good.” And spend money for me.

Qiu Ya seemed to not fully understand: ”Really?”

Can I still have food without working?!?!

”Yeah.” Chuzheng told him to go back, ”Go sleep, I’ll call you for breakfast later.”

Qiu Ya wasn’t very reassured, but he didn’t dare to disobey Chuzheng’s words, afraid of being hit; he could only shuffle back to the bed in small steps.

He didn’t sleep, just sat there pitifully. It was as if he was worried about whether he would have food to eat if he didn’t work.

A grown man making such an expression would normally seem odd and discordant.

But with Qiu Ya’s face, when he did it, all that was left was grievance, making one unable to keep from feeling sorry for him.

Chuzheng, unable to sleep because of his stare, turned over and got up.

”Come here.”

Qiu Ya immediately jogged over, watching her quietly and obediently.

Chuzheng gestured for him to sit beside her; Qiu Ya did so, placing his hands folded in front of him, making sure he appeared very well-behaved.

Chuzheng raised a hand to touch his head: ”Did you sleep well last night?”

He shook his head.

”What happened?”

Qiu Ya’s gaze quickly flicked to her. His lips, tinged with slight red, moved, and in a tiny voice, he said, ”In my dreams, they were hitting me too, they chased after me...I couldn’t run, and they beat me, it hurt so much.”

As Qiu Ya spoke, his fear grew, he wrapped his arms around himself, his body starting to tremble.

Chuzheng: ”...”

Chuzheng decided to go and beat a dead horse.

What have they done to my Good Person Card, scaring him like that!!

You bastards!

Chuzheng wrapped her arms around his waist, letting him lean on her, and promised earnestly and seriously, ”Don’t be afraid, from now on, I’ll protect you.”

Qiu Ya’s body tensed slightly: ”You...you won’t hit me?”

”No, I won’t.”

”Then, will you give me food to eat?”

”Yes, I will.”

”I don’t have to work...and still have food?” Qiu Ya’s tone was full of cautiousness, as if fearing the wrong word would result in no food.

”Yeah.”

Qiu Ya lifted his head, his face breaking into a smile: ”You’re really nice, nicer than all of them.”

Chuzheng: ”...”

Not hitting you and giving you food to eat makes one good, right?!?!

Chuzheng thought to herself Qiu Ya was being a fool now, and that was why she didn’t hold it against him.
