Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 562: Chapter 562: The Terrifying Power

Following Elder Yang’s instructions, Ye Qingchen took the Double Pupil Sword from his back and handed it over.

Elder Yang caressed the Double Pupil Sword and said, ”This sword is an object that balances the Five Elements. With the help of some external force, I will demonstrate the might of all five elements combined.”

After speaking, Elder Yang retrieved five Energy Barytes from his storage ring, the likes of which Ye Qingchen had never seen before. However, Elder Yang didn’t explain their purpose. He took out an emerald-green Energy Baryte and activated it. A surge of pure Wood Attribute Energy appeared and quickly flowed into the Double Pupil Sword.

”This energy,” Elder Yang explained, ”is roughly equivalent to that of a first-level Martial Spirit Realm cultivator.”

Ye Qingchen nodded. With his sharp eye, he could naturally tell as much.

Elder Yang then repeated the process, drawing an identical amount of power from each of the other four Crystal Stones. Each stream of energy, however, had its own unique attribute. The five energies combined to form the perfect Five Elements Energy of Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth.

As the last stream of energy entered the Double Pupil Sword, the sword began to vibrate violently. As its master, Ye Qingchen could feel a palpable excitement radiating from it. It was the thrill of a hunter that had spotted its prey.

Elder Yang pointed to the sword and said to Ye Qingchen, ”Now, take this sword and unleash the energy I just poured into it.”

Ye Qingchen nodded and picked up the Double Pupil Sword without the slightest hesitation. The moment it made contact with him, he felt every cell in his body begin to buzz with excitement. In particular, the Dual Pupil Martial Soul within his sea of consciousness began to spin wildly.

”Don’t get lost in that sensation! Unleash the energy now, or it will affect you!” Elder Yang barked, cutting off Ye Qingchen’s desire to probe the power further.

Ye Qingchen dared not be careless. He hefted the Double Pupil Sword and swung it toward the horizon, bringing it down in one clean slash.

BANG!

A powerful surge of Sword Qi erupted from beneath Ye Qingchen’s feet, carving a trench roughly five meters wide and ten meters deep into the earth. The gash continued to lengthen as the Sword Qi shot forward.

BOOM!

Finally, when the Sword Qi was completely spent, it exploded, leaving a seemingly bottomless crater in the ground.

Gazing at the trench that was now over two hundred meters long and the bottomless crater at its end, Ye Qingchen drew a sharp, shocked breath. This destructive power was clearly beyond his own strength. Yet, the energy that caused it was composed of five streams of power, each equivalent only to the first level of the Martial Spirit Realm.

Elder Yang was also visibly shocked, but he quickly composed himself. ”This is the power of the complete Five Elements. In other words, if you had mastered this power back at the first level of the Martial Spirit Realm, your current self would be no match for who you were then!”

Elder Yang’s words were a bit convoluted, but Ye Qingchen understood his meaning. Once he understood, however, his astonishment only grew.

He knew his current combat strength was already comparable to a low-level Martial Emperor. But Elder Yang was saying that if he had mastered the complete Five Elements back when he was at the first level of the Martial Spirit Realm, he would have been even stronger than he was now. Doesn’t that mean if I had truly mastered it at the first level of the Martial Spirit Realm, I could have fought a low-level Martial Emperor? What an incredible notion! Even now, possessing Martial King Realm strength with Martial Emperor Realm combat power is already considered unbelievable, let alone achieving that from the first level of the Martial Spirit Realm!

Elder Yang waved him over. ”Stop marveling. You have the potential, and if you truly reach that point one day, I fear no one in this world will be your opponent. However, potential alone does not guarantee success. You should know that the Heaven Desolate Continent has existed for countless years. No one knows how many prodigious talents have been born in that time, but there were certainly not few. Yet how many have truly made a name for themselves and stood at the pinnacle of the world? Keep cultivating diligently.”

Ye Qingchen nodded in deep agreement. He then asked Elder Yang with a puzzled expression, ”Elder Yang, I know that having all five elements is powerful, but achieving that is incredibly difficult. Does this mean I can only use one-fifth of my elemental power until I master them all? Won’t I be at a huge disadvantage when I reach the Martial Emperor Realm?”

Elder Yang smiled. ”That is precisely the lesson we must work on. Over the next few days, I will find a way to solve this problem for you.”

With Elder Yang’s definitive answer, Ye Qingchen finally relaxed.

If I can only use a fifth of my elemental power, how am I supposed to manage in the Martial Emperor Realm?

Then, Elder Yang waved a hand at the trench Ye Qingchen had just created. The gash began to mend itself at a rate visible to the naked eye, and it soon returned to its original state.

This display astonished Ye Qingchen once again. Elder Yang chuckled, ”Don’t be so impatient. When your strength is great enough, feats like this will be mere child’s play. Come with me.”

After speaking, Elder Yang headed toward his room. Ye Qingchen sighed and followed him.

This was only the second time Ye Qingchen had entered Elder Yang’s room. The first time was to temper the Double Pupil Sword. This time, Ye Qingchen had no idea what kind of surprise Elder Yang had in store for him. The sight of the clean and tidy room was jarring; it was a side of Elder Yang that made Ye Qingchen feel somewhat out of place. He simply stood at the doorway, not venturing any further.

Elder Yang paid him no mind. After entering the room, he squatted down with no regard for his status, poked his head under the bed, and began rummaging around.

If anyone else saw Elder Yang like this, the reputation of the Sacred Tree Academy would be ruined.

A moment later, Elder Yang finally found what he was looking for. However, since the space under the bed hadn’t been cleaned in years, he emerged covered in grime, sending a cloud of dust billowing into the room.

Elder Yang didn’t seem to care. He reached out with his dusty hand, grabbed Ye Qingchen, and started pulling him outside.

Ye Qingchen looked at his once-white sleeves, now speckled with grime where Elder Yang had grabbed him, and couldn’t help but complain about the old man inwardly. However, he also noticed an exquisite box in Elder Yang’s hand. He presumed it contained the very treasure that would solve his problem.

Ye Qingchen followed Elder Yang out of the Sacred Tree Academy. After a series of twists and turns, they arrived before a secluded, thatched cottage.

Pointing at the cottage, Elder Yang said, ”That’s where I’ve cultivated for many years. Not even your senior brothers or sisters have been here. Consider yourself lucky, kid!”

Ye Qingchen smirked. Such a simple place really suits Elder Yang’s taste!
