Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 505: Chapter 505: The Powerful Demon Clan

Xiao Xiao stared at the Devil’s Cave, deep in thought, before saying to Ye Qingchen, ”Young Master, I have seen an image of this Devil’s Cave in the archives of the Wuji Immortal Palace.”

Ye Qingchen glanced at Xiao Xiao in surprise but quickly understood. As a nine-star sect, the Wuji Immortal Palace naturally possessed an all-encompassing collection of records. After all, she had been able to give him a copy of the Pill Emperor’s Heart Sutra right after she joined, a clear testament to the sect’s profound heritage.

Xiao Xiao continued, ”Young Master, legend has it that long ago, the Demon Clan invaded our continent. It was precisely through Devil’s Caves like this one that their powerhouses could continuously emerge and descend upon the continent, bringing suffering to all living beings. In the end, it took the combined might of the human race’s greatest experts to repel the Demon Clan’s assault. I can’t believe a Devil’s Cave has appeared again!”

Ye Qingchen nodded. He had already sensed that the Devil’s Cave served as a portal. It seemed that, just as Xiao Xiao said, the Demon Clan was descending once more.

As the two spoke, a black shadow emerged from the giant maw of the Devil’s Cave.

Ye Qingchen focused his gaze. The black figure was a humanoid creature, pitch-black all over. It had a sinister, terrifying face, and two protruding fangs that made it even more menacing.

”Is this the Demon Clan?” Ye Qingchen watched the creature and said uncertainly.

The warnings from his Dual Pupil Martial Soul had ceased the moment the creature appeared. Furthermore, Ye Qingchen couldn’t sense any energy fluctuations from the being.

Xiao Xiao nodded and said to Ye Qingchen, ”The sect archives have images of this type of creature. However, this one should be a lower-ranked member of the Demon Clan, called a Lesser Demon. Its strength is roughly comparable to a human cultivator between the Martial King and Martial Emperor Realms.”

A grave expression appeared in Ye Qingchen’s eyes. A mere Lesser Demon from the Demon Clan could rival a human at the Martial King Realm, or even the Martial Emperor Realm. How formidable must the Demon Clan’s true power be?

At that moment, the Lesser Demon suddenly moved, hurtling toward the first arena at incredible speed.

Almost instantly, the Lesser Demon reached the arena. The two hapless contestants had no time to react before it punched straight through one of their hearts, killing him on the spot.

So strong! Ye Qingchen’s pupils contracted sharply.

The Lesser Demon had flown through the air, but it didn’t seem to be drawing on nature’s spiritual energy. Ye Qingchen didn’t understand the methods of the Demon Clan, but he knew a great deal about the strength of humans.

One of those two contestants was at the Peak of the Martial King Realm, and the strength of such a cultivator from a prestigious sect was unquestionable. Even so, he was killed by the Lesser Demon in a single move before he could even react.

”Xiao Xiao, get back!” Ye Qingchen immediately pulled Xiao Xiao backward.

The Lesser Demon then darted between the various arenas, mercilessly slaughtering everyone in its path, whether they were contestants or spectators.

Ouyang Wuqing was the closest to the Lesser Demon. Upon seeing such a formidable foe, his eyes lit up with a fervent battle lust. Disregarding the competition entirely, Ouyang Wuqing flashed forward to block the Lesser Demon’s path.

The Lesser Demon paused for a moment, seemingly surprised that someone dared to obstruct it. But when it saw that the person before it was merely in the Martial King Realm, its eyes filled with utter disdain.

Brimming with fighting spirit, Ouyang Wuqing bellowed, ”I don’t know what kind of creature you are, but you seem to have some skill. Do you dare to fight me?”

In response to Ouyang Wuqing’s provocation, the Lesser Demon did not speak; it simply launched a punch at him.

Ouyang Wuqing was a practitioner of Body Cultivation, so his eyes gleamed with excitement when he saw the Lesser Demon dare to challenge him in physical combat. He raised his right hand to meet the Lesser Demon’s fist.

BOOM!

In the clash, Ouyang Wuqing’s right arm was instantly vaporized into a bloody mist, leaving him on the ground wailing and groaning in agony. No one could have expected it. Ouyang Wuqing, whose body was strong enough to shatter low-grade treasure weapons, had his arm blown off in a single clash with a Lesser Demon!

Even the Lesser Demon seemed stunned for a moment, surprised that this ant-like creature had managed to withstand a single round. However, a Lesser Demon is a creature born to kill, devoid of any emotion. It raised its hand again and struck Ouyang Wuqing.

BOOM!

With another thunderous sound, Ouyang Wuqing’s body was blasted into a mist of blood. A talented prodigy had only lasted two punches against a Lesser Demon.

Ouyang Wuqing’s death plunged everyone present into a complete panic. Why was this unknown creature so strong? It was completely emotionless, like a killing machine. All the contestants and spectators began to flee in terror, but this only made the Lesser Demon slaughter them with even greater abandon.

”Demon, stop!”

At this moment, as the organizers of the competition, the people in charge could no longer sit idly by. If all these outstanding disciples from the various sects were to die here, how could they ever explain it to their sects?

Two figures shot into the sky, confronting the Lesser Demon from a distance. They were two powerhouses of the Martial Emperor Realm.

The sight of Martial Emperor Realm powerhouses taking action gave the crowd a small measure of relief. But in the next moment, their hearts turned to ice.

From the distant Devil’s Cave, several more Lesser Demons emerged. Just like the first, they immediately began slaughtering the crowd. Instantly, screams of agony filled the air as blood splattered everywhere!

Although the two Martial Emperor Realm powerhouses managed to block one Lesser Demon, the total number on the field had now reached five. Furthermore, the two Martial Emperor Realm powerhouses could only barely hold their ground, forced to retreat again and again under the demon’s attacks.

Finally, another Lesser Demon joined the fray. In less than half a minute, the two Martial Emperor Realm powerhouses were devoured by the Lesser Demons.

The crowd fell into complete despair. If even Martial Emperor Realm powerhouses were no match for these demons, who else could possibly stop them?

BOOM!

A thunderous noise erupted. Everyone thought it was another Lesser Demon on a rampage, but when they looked up, they saw a youth in white robes soaring into the sky. With a single punch, he shattered a Lesser Demon to pieces.

”It’s the Saint Heir from the Wuji Immortal Palace! We’re saved!” someone recognized him and cried out.

Immediately, more people joined in the plea, ”Please, Saint Heir, save us!”

The Saint Heir hovered proudly in the air, exuding an aura of absolute supremacy, and calmly declared, ”They are merely demons. With This Holy Son here, you have nothing to fear.”

After speaking, he didn’t forget to turn to Xiao Xiao and add, ”Junior Sister Xiao Xiao, stand behind me. I will ensure your safety!”
