Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 475: Chapter 475: Where Did You Just Put Your Hand?

Facing the siege, Ye Qingchen continuously used Fire Spirit Charm Shadow to dodge while looking for opportunities to counterattack. However, his opponents had clearly worked together before. Although Ye Qingchen’s movement technique was unpredictable, they always managed to suppress him with their flawless coordination.

What left Ye Qingchen most helpless was Wu Zhengyang, who was rapidly recovering with the aid of a Spirit Pill. If Wu Zhengyang rejoined the battle, Ye Qingchen’s prospects would be grim.

With his Fire Spirit Charm Shadow movement technique, Ye Qingchen was fully confident he could escape the siege on his own. But if he did that, Xue Zhao and her companions would certainly die. Ye Qingchen was not one to abandon things halfway; since he had decided to help, he would see it through to the end.

But the situation had become extremely critical. Watching the Spiritual Energy converge above Wu Zhengyang’s head, Ye Qingchen knew that in just a few minutes, Wu Zhengyang would be back in the fight, brimming with energy.

Ye Qingchen’s mind raced, searching for a solution. His gaze fell involuntarily on the Green Spirit Horses outside the main hall. This breed of Green Spirit Horse was not only incredibly fast but also had a gentle temperament, meaning even an ordinary person could ride one without suffering any backlash.

An idea formed in his mind. Taking advantage of a lull in the battle, he once again took out the Ten Thousand Laws Formation Flag and swiftly laid a fourth-grade trapping Formation, temporarily blocking the attacks from the Divine Sword Sect disciples. This was the strongest trapping Formation Ye Qingchen could currently create with the Ten Thousand Laws Formation Flag. However, he knew that this fourth-grade Formation could hold them off for two or three minutes at most. But for Ye Qingchen, those few minutes were enough.

He flashed to Xue Zhao and her companions, waved his hand to dispel the Formation protecting them, and said, ”The rain is letting up. I’ll hold them off. You three, quickly get on the Green Spirit Horses and leave.”

”But what about you?” Qi Sheng asked, his voice filled with worry.

Ye Qingchen shook his head. ”Don’t worry about me. That trapping Formation will only hold them for a few minutes. You have to leave quickly. I’ll delay them a while longer. I may not be able to beat them, but if I want to leave, they can’t stop me!”

”Alright! Then be careful, young man!” Qi Sheng said. He and Qi Tian nodded, then supported each other as they walked out of the main hall and skillfully mounted their Green Spirit Horses.

Although their movements were peculiar, Ye Qingchen didn’t pay it much mind; his entire focus was on Xue Zhao.

Xue Zhao was completely drained of strength, finding it difficult to even stand. Casting aside formalities, Ye Qingchen directly lifted her into his arms and carried her out of the main hall. He tried to help her onto the horse, but her body was too limp for her to mount it.

”Forgive me, miss.”

After speaking, Ye Qingchen placed his hand directly on Xue Zhao’s firm, enticing buttocks and, with a gentle push, lifted her onto the Green Spirit Horse.

The action made the eyes of Qi Sheng and Qi Tian nearly bulge from their sockets.

That brat... where did he just put his hand?!

No one has ever dared to lay a finger on the Young Miss! And this kid... he actually... he actually just put his hand on her backside!

The thought struck both brothers at the same time. The hot-tempered Qi Tian was so incensed he nearly attacked Ye Qingchen on the spot, but a sharp glare from Xue Zhao made him back down.

Meanwhile, Ye Qingchen, completely oblivious, settled Xue Zhao onto the horse and used a strip of cloth to secure her to the saddle. He then slapped the horse’s rump, and the Green Spirit Horse galloped away.

Qi Sheng cupped his hands in a gesture of thanks toward Ye Qingchen before he and his brother rode their own Green Spirit Horses in pursuit.

With that done, Ye Qingchen finally breathed a sigh of relief. Just then, the Divine Sword Sect disciples broke out of the Formation. Wu Zhengyang, having recovered most of his strength, saw that Ye Qingchen had let the trio escape and roared in fury.

”You damn brat! You’ve ruined my plans time and again. I’m going to kill you!”

With a wave of his hand, Wu Zhengyang and the other Divine Sword Sect disciples charged at Ye Qingchen together.

Ye Qingchen continuously circulated the Fire Spirit Charm Shadow to evade their attacks, wielding the Double Pupil Sword in his hand to its absolute limit. With Wu Zhengyang back in the fray, the pressure on Ye Qingchen increased dramatically.

However, he knew it wasn’t time to leave just yet. Xue Zhao’s group had only just departed. If he left now, Wu Zhengyang and his men could easily catch up to them with their superior speed, putting the three of them in danger once more.

Fortunately, the heavy rain would help wash away their tracks. As long as he could hold on for an hour, Wu Zhengyang’s group wouldn’t be able to catch up even if they tried. But holding on for an hour was easier said than done. Wu Zhengyang was completely frenzied. He and the other disciples fought with a desperation that suggested a battle to the death.

Thankfully, Ye Qingchen’s movement technique was incredibly fast, allowing him to consistently dodge their fatal attacks. And with Xue Zhao’s group gone, he was no longer confined to fighting within the main hall. He fought as he retreated, intentionally luring Wu Zhengyang and his men in the opposite direction of Xue Zhao’s escape.

Wu Zhengyang naturally understood Ye Qingchen’s tactic, but he didn’t care. Xue Zhao had left on a Green Spirit Horse, one bred by the Divine Sword Sect, and each horse bore a unique mark. No matter how far they ran, as long as Wu Zhengyang activated his sect’s Secret Technique, he could pinpoint their location. Right now, all Wu Zhengyang wanted was to kill this detestable kid to vent his rage.

”Time’s about up. I’m done playing with you,” Ye Qingchen said to Wu Zhengyang mockingly. He then fully activated Fire Spirit Charm Shadow and dashed into the distance.

Wu Zhengyang and his men gave chase for a while but gave up when they saw the distance between them and Ye Qingchen only growing wider.

”Senior Brother, what do we do now?” a Divine Sword Sect disciple asked Wu Zhengyang.

Wu Zhengyang snorted coldly. ”I’d better not see that brat again. Let’s go. We’ll capture that beauty and bring her back!”

After speaking, Wu Zhengyang took a Spirit Boat from his storage and boarded it with the other disciples. He then activated the sect’s Secret Technique, sensed the trio’s location, and steered the Spirit Boat in pursuit.

Although the Spirit Boat was much faster than the Green Spirit Horses, Wu Zhengyang had rarely used it on their journey for the sake of appearances. This vanity was what had given Ye Qingchen the opportunity to steal his horses in the first place. Now, intent on capturing Xue Zhao, he could no longer afford to show off.

At this moment, Xue Zhao and the two brothers were stopped by the side of the road, still on their horses. Their previously feeble appearances had vanished completely. More miraculously, the heavy rain seemed to part around them, repelled by an invisible barrier before it could touch them. As a result, despite being in the middle of a downpour, not a single drop of rain landed on their clothes.

”Qi Sheng,” Xue Zhao asked, ”Ye Qingchen should be fine, right?”
