Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 466: Chapter 466 Double Pupil Sword

”Brat, hurry up and activate your Martial Soul!” Noticing the mysterious sword’s transformation, Elder Yang bellowed at Ye Qingchen.

Ye Qingchen didn’t dare hesitate and immediately circulated his Soul Power to summon his Willow Wood Martial Soul.

A massive willow tree, about ten meters tall, appeared behind Ye Qingchen, its Life Force continuously converging into the mysterious sword.

The mysterious sword was like a sponge that had been dry for a long time. Although the Life Force from the Willow Wood Martial Soul was surging torrentially, the sword accepted all of it without reservation, absorbing every last drop.

Seeing that the mysterious sword did not reject Ye Qingchen’s Martial Soul Force, Elder Yang felt slightly relieved.

If the mysterious sword had rejected Ye Qingchen from the start, the subsequent fusion would have been even more difficult to carry out.

The process of the mysterious sword absorbing Life Force lasted for about a quarter of an hour. The originally ten-meter-tall willow tree had now shriveled to less than three meters.

One could only imagine how much Life Force the mysterious sword had absorbed in such a short time.

Seeing that the speed at which the mysterious sword was absorbing Life Force had slowed, Elder Yang hastily circulated his own Spiritual Energy. Deep red flames reappeared, continuously scorching the mysterious sword. Then, as Elder Yang steadily increased his Spiritual Energy, the deep red flames gradually turned blue-purple.

Still feeling it wasn’t enough, Elder Yang said to Ye Qingchen, ”Kid, use your Fen Tian Earth Fire. The flames aren’t strong enough!”

Ye Qingchen didn’t hesitate, promptly summoning his Fen Tian Earth Fire and using his Ancient Jade Spiritual Fire alongside it, converging them both toward the mysterious sword.

To Ye Qingchen’s surprise, upon contact with Elder Yang’s Spiritual Energy, his Fen Tian Earth Fire and Ancient Jade Spiritual Fire actually began to yield to the elder’s control, to the point that they barely listened to his own will anymore.

Ye Qingchen recalled that when he had first fused the Fen Tian Earth Fire and the Ancient Jade Spiritual Fire, every attempt had been a life-and-death struggle just to achieve a meager fusion. But now, Elder Yang could control the two Exotic Flames merely by connecting his Spiritual Energy to them. How formidable must his spiritual power be?

Under the scorching heat of the three flames, the mysterious sword began to constantly change its form. However, the pattern of the five-clawed golden dragon on the blade remained unchanged.

Ye Qingchen’s actions were no longer required, so he finally had time to observe the mysterious sword’s various transformations.

When Ye Qingchen’s gaze fell upon the five-clawed golden dragon, the feeling of a bloodline connection he had experienced in the Contribution Hall resurfaced, and his mind became completely immersed in the dragon’s pattern.

The Dual Pupil Martial Soul, which lay dormant in Ye Qingchen’s sea of consciousness, began to rotate on its own. If Ye Qingchen had been conscious at that moment, he would have certainly noticed.

The Dual Pupil Martial Soul originally appeared as an immense, tightly shut eye. At this moment, however, it slowly lifted its eyelids. Within the sclera, two adjacent pupils erupted with a formidable Life Force that merged into the mysterious sword.

Elder Yang, who was controlling the Refinement of the mysterious sword, suddenly felt this Life Force. It was so potent it made his heart tremble, and he couldn’t help but look startled.

Only he and Ye Qingchen were present, so Elder Yang naturally turned his gaze toward the boy.

Ye Qingchen’s gaze was vacant, but his body exuded an inviolable Divinity, giving even a cultivator of Elder Yang’s level an uncontrollable urge to prostrate himself in worship.

But Elder Yang was, after all, exceptionally powerful. The moment he sensed something was amiss, he immediately circulated his Cultivation Technique to dispel the impulse. After that, however, he no longer dared to risk the distraction of looking at Ye Qingchen.

It seems this boy has some other incredible secrets about him, Elder Yang mused to himself, before returning his full attention to the sword’s Refinement.

Strangely, after the baptism of that potent Life Force, the sword’s initial affinity for the Wood Attribute began to slowly fade.

This Life Force was so powerful that even Elder Yang dared not speculate about it casually. Faced with this transformation, he couldn’t determine its cause, let alone whether the change was for better or for worse.

What was exciting, however, was that the embryonic form of an Artifact Spirit had slowly begun to condense within the mysterious sword. Although the Artifact Spirit was still very weak, taking the form of a pale blue sphere, the surging Life Force within it was a constant reminder of its extraordinary nature.

By now, the Refinement of the mysterious sword was nearing its end. Ye Qingchen awakened from his stupor, his eyes blazing as he stared at the sword, the feeling of a bloodline connection in his heart growing even more intense.

Ye Qingchen was unaware of the change in his Dual Pupil Martial Soul, but all the Life Force in the mysterious sword had come from his own body, so this feeling of a bloodline connection was only natural.

Somewhat fatigued, Elder Yang wiped the sweat from his forehead and said to Ye Qingchen, ”Kid, it should be about ready. The sword’s Artifact Spirit is still very weak, so it can probably only exert the strength of a lower-grade treasure weapon. However, as long as you keep nurturing it, it will one day be able to reach the level of a superior True Weapon again. It’s not even impossible for it to break through and become an Immortal Artifact. Now, give it a name.”

Ye Qingchen nodded and pondered briefly. A name spontaneously surfaced in his mind.

”Double Pupil Sword?” he said slowly.

The sword on the stele erupted with a joyous cry, as if it was very satisfied with the name.

It was less that Ye Qingchen had named the sword and more that the sword had chosen its own name, as the words ”Double Pupil Sword” had truly appeared from nowhere.

”Double Pupil Sword. Not bad. It seems to like the name a lot.” Elder Yang nodded in satisfaction, thus settling the name of the Double Pupil Sword.

Ye Qingchen walked to the stele and took the Double Pupil Sword in his hand. The feeling of a bloodline connection grew even more profound. At this moment, the sword was entirely crimson, as was the five-clawed golden dragon upon it.

Puzzled, Ye Qingchen asked, ”Elder Yang, logically speaking, I nurtured the Double Pupil Sword with my Willow Wood Martial Soul. Why did I only sense the Fire Attribute from it just now?”

Elder Yang nodded thoughtfully and said, ”Try using the Wood Attribute.”

Ye Qingchen did as he was told, once again harnessing the Wood Attribute. The Double Pupil Sword turned completely emerald green.

Ye Qingchen looked at Elder Yang with even greater confusion. The elder spoke again, ”Try not to use any attributes, just circulate your Spiritual Energy.”

Ye Qingchen did as instructed, and the Double Pupil Sword reverted to a brilliant, shiny appearance.

And when Ye Qingchen withdrew all his Spiritual Energy, the Double Pupil Sword reverted to its completely pitch-black form.
