Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 467: Chapter 467: Fulfilling the Year-Long Promise

”What... what in the world is going on? Could this Double Pupil Sword possess both the Fire and Wood Attributes at the same time?” Ye Qingchen said excitedly, seeming to have thought of something.

Elder Yang looked at Ye Qingchen as if he were a wastrel and said, ”Is that all the imagination you’ve got, boy? Why can’t the Double Pupil Sword possess all five elements?”

”What? All five elements?”

Ye Qingchen’s mouth fell open in shock, hardly daring to believe the words. He questioned, ”How could it possess all five elements? I only infused it with the Wood and Fire Attributes. How could it possibly have all five? Besides, I’ve never even heard of a treasure with all five elements before.”

Elder Yang said with a smile, ”That’s because you’re inexperienced, boy. If a person can have Dual Martial Souls, what’s so strange about a treasure having all five elements?”

Elder Yang’s words stirred something in Ye Qingchen’s heart. Could it be that my Dual Martial Souls have been discovered by Elder Yang?

However, Elder Yang didn’t elaborate. He also didn’t tell Ye Qingchen about the powerful life force present during the forging of the Double Pupil Sword. After all, everyone has their secrets. Since Ye Qingchen hadn’t brought it up, Elder Yang wasn’t the type to pry into others’ privacy. Shaking his head, he then entered his room, deep in thought.

Although Ye Qingchen didn’t get the answers he was looking for, nothing could diminish the joy he felt from obtaining a supreme treasure. While the Double Pupil Sword was only a low-grade Treasure Artifact, it was more than enough for his current needs.

Ye Qingchen continuously circulated his Spiritual Energy, testing the enhancement the Double Pupil Sword provided to his various abilities. He finally concluded that wielding it could amplify his Spiritual Energy by at least fifteen times.

But what troubled Ye Qingchen was that he still couldn’t place the Double Pupil Sword into his storage ring. It made sense, though. The Double Pupil Sword was once on the verge of breaking through to become an Immortal Artifact. How could a mere storage ring of the spiritual instrument rank possibly contain it?

Ye Qingchen had no choice but to make a sword bag and carry the Double Pupil Sword on his back.

He stayed in the Divine Wood Academy for another three days, during which he gradually grew accustomed to the presence of the Double Pupil Sword.

That day, Ye Qingchen finally couldn’t resist seeking out Elder Yang. ”Elder Yang,” he said, ”if there are no classes scheduled soon, I’d like to leave the academy for a trip.”

Elder Yang looked at Ye Qingchen meaningfully and was silent for a long time.

Feeling a little guilty under that gaze, Ye Qingchen explained, ”Elder Yang, you should know about the Sect’s newcomer competition. I promised a friend I would go watch her compete. Looking at the time, it’s about time for me to set off.”

There was another reason Ye Qingchen didn’t mention: he wanted to see Xiao Xiao and find out if she had a way for him to get to the Ten Ancient Clans to search for clues about Qin Yue.

Elder Yang was silent for another moment before finally nodding. He took out a wrinkled manual, tossed it to Ye Qingchen, and said, ”Be careful after you leave the mountain. Come back as soon as you’re done.”

Ye Qingchen took the manual. As soon as he opened the cover, the words ”Shadow-extinction Sword Technique” jumped out at him. The words written below them, ”High-level Earth Rank Cultivation Technique,” were even more soul-stirring. If not for those words, just looking at the manual’s shabby appearance would have made Ye Qingchen assume it was some Yellow Rank Cultivation Technique. No, even the presentation of a Yellow Rank Cultivation Technique would be countless times better than this.

Elder Yang pointed at the manual and said, ”This swordsmanship has no specific attribute, but it can fuse with all attributes. If used properly, its power is no less than that of a Heaven Rank Martial Technique!”

After speaking, Elder Yang waved his hand, dismissing Ye Qingchen. He seemed completely indifferent to the profound impact his words just had.

Clutching the Shadow-extinction Sword Technique, Ye Qingchen walked out the door in excitement.

A high-level Earth Rank Martial Technique that, when used properly, could rival a Heaven Rank Martial Technique! These words repeatedly rocked Ye Qingchen’s still-young mind.

After entering the Central Region, Ye Qingchen had come to realize that his Leaf Blade Storm and Wind Blade Sword Technique might not be enough to face the senior disciples or even the True Disciples of the major sects.

Although the Blood Wheel Eye could copy martial techniques, the success rate for copying higher-level ones was far too low.

He never expected that just as he was about to leave, Elder Yang would bestow such a significant gift upon him.

Ye Qingchen couldn’t help but fantasize about wielding the Double Pupil Sword while executing the Fire Spirit Charm Shadow and employing the Shadow-extinction Sword Technique. What level would my combat power reach then? He was filled with anticipation...

Ye Qingchen had long since found out that the Sect’s newcomer competition was set to be held in the Central Region’s most prosperous city, Eternal City!

The reason Ye Qingchen was now in such a hurry to get to Eternal City was to meet Xiao Xiao.

When he first arrived in the Central Region, Ye Qingchen had thought he could use his spot from the Central Celestial Academy to enter one of the Ten Ancient Clans. If he did, he wouldn’t have time to watch Xiao Xiao’s competition. After all, compared to Qin Yue’s safety, he was sure Xiao Xiao would understand him missing her competition.

However, he hadn’t anticipated the subsequent series of events that prevented him from entering the Ten Ancient Clans for the time being.

So, Ye Qingchen thought of Xiao Xiao. She now held an incredibly high status within the Wuji Immortal Palace, a nine-star Sect. If he told Xiao Xiao about Qin Yue’s situation, perhaps she could use the influence of the Wuji Immortal Palace to help find Qin Yue’s whereabouts. That was why Ye Qingchen was so impatient to get to Eternal City.

Before leaving the Central Celestial Academy, Ye Qingchen had also exchanged for a map of the Central Region at the Contribution Hall, so at least he wouldn’t get lost.

Even though Elder Yang had said he would only give Ye Qingchen one chance to use the Divine Wood Order, Ye Qingchen hadn’t returned it. This was because Elder Yang had tricked him once before. Otherwise, just finding a map of the Central Region would have taken him an unknown amount of time.

Ye Qingchen traveled onward, practicing the Shadow-extinction Sword Technique and constantly exploring the Fire Spirit Charm Shadow as he went. Time flew by.

In the blink of an eye, three days passed. Ye Qingchen arrived at a small city called Qiyun City.

The long journey had left him somewhat fatigued, so he decided to rest for a while in Qiyun City and purchase a Spirit Boat for transportation.

Upon entering Qiyun City, Ye Qingchen headed for the largest inn in town. This was a habit of his, as the largest inn usually meant the best accommodations and more sources of information.

”Welcome, sir! Are you staying the night or just stopping for a meal?” the Shop Assistant greeted him warmly.

Ye Qingchen tossed a bag of Low-grade Spirit Stones to the assistant and said, ”Get me a room. Come by later, I have some questions for you.”

The Shop Assistant caught the Spirit Stones, his delight growing as he felt their weight. He became even more enthusiastic.

Led by the Shop Assistant, Ye Qingchen entered the inn. However, just as he stepped inside, he unexpectedly ran into several acquaintances
