Chapter 174: Chapter 174 Attracting Fire Poison

”No, you mustn’t let him touch Grandfather!”

Qin Xi swiftly moved to the bedside, blocking Ye Qingchen and preventing him from getting close. She paid no heed to Qin Zhantian, who was violently spitting up blood on the sickbed.

”Qin Xi, what are you doing?”

Qin Yue, seeing Qin Xi block Ye Qingchen at a time like this, scolded angrily, ”Can’t you see Grandfather is having an attack? Why are you stopping Ye Qingchen from treating him?”

Qin Xi looked back at Qin Yue defiantly and said, ”Young Master Cheng, a fourth-grade Alchemist, already said nothing can be done. How could he, a mere third-grade Alchemist, possibly cure Grandfather’s Fire Poison? Besides, a quack like him could do more harm than good and aggravate Grandfather’s condition. If the worst should happen to Grandfather, can you bear that responsibility?”

Of course, Qin Xi’s obstruction wasn’t simply because Ye Qingchen was a third-grade Alchemist. It was his constant air of confidence that secretly worried her. Ye Qingchen was brought here by Qin Yue. If he really managed to cure Qin Zhantian’s Fire Poison, then Qin Yue’s status in the family would surely surpass her own. That was something Qin Xi could not accept! Although she didn’t really believe a third-grade Alchemist could treat a Fire Poison that a fourth-grade Alchemist was helpless against, she had to prepare for the one-in-a-million chance. That was why she was so desperately trying to stop Ye Qingchen.

But this was Qin Yue’s family affair, after all. If they didn’t trust him, why should he offer a warm welcome only to be given the cold shoulder?

So, when Qin Xi blocked him, Ye Qingchen stopped in his tracks. He wouldn’t interfere with whatever Qin Zhantian chose to do.

But when Qin Yue heard Qin Xi’s words, she stood up angrily. With tears in her eyes, she pointed at Qin Xi and said, ”Qin Xi, what are you saying? Just because Young Master Cheng is helpless, we shouldn’t let anyone else treat Grandfather? Can’t you see how much pain he’s in? I never thought you could be so malicious as to just stand there and watch him suffer!”

Although Qin Xi knew she was in the wrong, she also knew there was no backing down now. She could only brace herself and say, ”No matter what, I cannot allow a third-grade Alchemist to recklessly treat Grandfather!”

”You... you... get out!” At death’s door, Qin Zhantian managed to force out the words.

Qin Xi was ecstatic. She turned to Ye Qingchen and said, ”Did you hear that? My grandfather is telling you to get out!”

”Qin... Xi... you get out!”

Qin Zhantian used his last ounce of strength to speak, then his entire body went limp on the bed.

”Did you hear that, Qin Xi? Grandfather is telling you to get out!”

Seeing Qin Zhantian collapse, Qin Yue couldn’t be bothered with anything else. She shoved Qin Xi aside and pleaded with Ye Qingchen, ”Ye Qingchen, I beg you, please hurry and treat my grandfather.”

Since Ye Qingchen had previously identified the problem with Cheng Zhibin’s treatment, he might have a solution. Qin Yue now saw him as her last hope.

Ye Qingchen had seen Qin Zhantian’s attitude. Furthermore, the old man’s condition was now extremely perilous and could not be delayed any longer.

With Qin Xi pushed aside, Ye Qingchen took a few quick strides to Qin Zhantian’s bedside and grabbed his hand.

Qin Xi felt indignant, but her grandfather was already angry. If she interfered now, she wouldn’t be able to explain herself when he woke up and questioned her.

Yet, Qin Xi still did not leave the room. Instead, she stood with Cheng Zhibin, frowning as she watched Ye Qingchen treat Qin Zhantian.

”Young Master Cheng, does this guy really have a way to treat Grandfather’s Fire Poison? Why does he still look so confident?” Qin Xi said to Cheng Zhibin in a snide tone, hoping for some reassurance.

Cheng Zhibin had looked down on Ye Qingchen from the very beginning. Since even he was helpless, how could Ye Qingchen possibly have a solution?

Hearing Qin Xi’s words, Cheng Zhibin said irritably, ”He’s just an ignorant brat who doesn’t know his place. That confident look is nothing but a bluff!”

Hearing this, Qin Xi felt slightly reassured. She let out a cold snort and said, ”As long as he fails to cure Grandfather’s Fire Poison, I won’t let him leave this room today!”

Qin Xi had already made up her mind. The moment Ye Qingchen’s treatment failed, she would personally kill the arrogant brat. At the same time, she would pin the blame for her grandfather’s worsened condition entirely on Qin Yue, claiming that the quack she brought was the reason his condition had worsened.

Of course, Qin Yue was unaware of the malicious thoughts in Qin Xi’s mind. She was completely focused on watching Ye Qingchen treat Qin Zhantian, her jade-like hands clenched into tight fists, her heart wracked with anxiety.

The moment Ye Qingchen touched Qin Zhantian, he began to circulate his Divine Wood Decision to draw out the Fire Poison in the old man’s body. However, the Fire Poison had already gone completely rampant and turned violently volatile. Even with Ye Qingchen circulating the Divine Wood Decision at full power, the amount of Fire Poison he could control was minuscule.

Just then, the Fen Tian Earth Fire, which had been dormant in Ye Qingchen’s sea of energy, suddenly began to stir.

The Fire Poison within Qin Zhantian’s body surged madly into Ye Qingchen’s body, as if it had found its home.

Qin Zhantian’s cultivation was far superior to Ye Qingchen’s. If even he couldn’t withstand the Fire Poison, Ye Qingchen certainly didn’t dare to rashly try and refine it, even with the Fen Tian Earth Fire in his possession.

Thankfully, the meridians in Ye Qingchen’s body had been tempered by the Fen Tian Earth Fire and had become sufficiently resilient. Otherwise, the moment the Fire Poison entered his body, it would have likely destroyed them all.

While drawing in the Fire Poison, Ye Qingchen simultaneously circulated the Divine Wood Decision to expel it from his body.

To his surprise, when the expelled Fire Poison fell to the floor, it didn’t disappear. Instead, it transformed into tiny seeds of fire that continued to burn on the ground.

Meanwhile, as the amount of Fire Poison in Qin Zhantian’s body diminished, his complexion gradually improved.

This scene was naturally witnessed by Qin Xi and Cheng Zhibin, and both of their expressions soured.

In disbelief, Qin Xi said to Cheng Zhibin, ”Young Master Cheng, is that Grandfather’s Fire Poison he’s expelling from his body?”

Cheng Zhibin subconsciously nodded.

”Young Master Cheng, didn’t you just say that brat was helpless? Why is he able to draw out the Fire Poison now?” Qin Xi demanded anxiously.

Cheng Zhibin snapped back to his senses, shook his head, and said, ”So what if he can draw out the Fire Poison? The Fire Poison in Old Master Qin’s body is incredibly tyrannical. That boy is just playing with fire!”

Cheng Zhibin obviously knew how to draw out the Fire Poison from Qin Zhantian’s body. The method wasn’t particularly profound, but he would never dare to try it. The Fire Poison was simply too tyrannical! Even a master with Qin Zhantian’s cultivation couldn’t withstand it, let alone Cheng Zhibin.
