Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 27: Chapter 27 Cross-dressing

So ruthless, they even kill their own family! The Qin Family runs deeper and darker than I ever imagined. If I had known, I never would have cooperated with Qin Yue! Ye Qingchen thought, filled with regret.

”Split up and run!” Qin Yue suddenly yelled, bolting in a random direction.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Ye Qingchen rushed straight toward the waterfall. Jumping is my only chance of survival!

Master Du didn’t bother with Ye Qingchen and immediately pursued Qin Yue. He’s nothing but an ant, the old man thought. I’ll kill Qin Yue first; dealing with the boy later won’t be too late.

WHOOSH! A fierce gale howled as Master Du threw a punch straight at Qin Yue, its afterimage sealing off her escape route. With no other choice, Qin Yue met his attack with her own punch.

BANG! As their fists collided, Master Du stood firm, not moving an inch. Qin Yue, however, was thrown back more than ten meters, a trickle of blood escaping the corner of her mouth.

”So, the Tower Lord has indeed reached the peak of the Ninth Layer of Martial Artist cultivation. You’ve hidden it well! If I had waited any longer, I might not have been able to kill you so easily!”

Master Du sneered. Giving Qin Yue no chance to catch her breath, he charged forward and threw another vicious punch.

Qin Yue took another direct hit. How could she possibly be Master Du’s opponent? A spray of blood erupted from her mouth as she was sent flying dozens of meters like a fragile leaf, landing right beside the waterfall.

”Die!” Master Du roared, following closely behind. His fingers formed a claw as he lunged for Qin Yue’s pale neck.

Just a short distance away, Ye Qingchen leaped toward the waterfall.

Lying on the ground, Qin Yue’s gaze fell upon Ye Qingchen as he leaped. A look of desperation appeared on her beautiful face. ”Ye Qingchen, save me...”

A flicker of compassion crossed Ye Qingchen’s eyes. Clenching his teeth, he manifested his Willow Wood Martial Soul. It extended from his arm and wrapped around Qin Yue’s body.

SPLASH! SPLASH!

Two figures plummeted into the waterfall, creating two huge plumes of water before vanishing from sight.

Master Du’s attack hit nothing but air. He stared at the spot where the two had vanished into the water, his eyes filling with rage. He roared, ”Bastard! How dare you ruin my plans! Ye Qingchen, when I find you, I’ll make it so you can neither live nor die!”

With a flash of movement, Master Du sped off to search the river downstream.

...

What Master Du didn’t know was that Ye Qingchen was curled up in a narrow space behind the great curtain of water, holding Qin Yue in his arms. The moment he saved Qin Yue and passed through the waterfall, he had discovered this space. He made a snap decision, using the pull of his Willow Wood Martial Soul to yank them both inside.

Ye Qingchen deduced that Master Du would definitely search for them downstream and would never guess that they hadn’t been washed away at all. The most dangerous place is the safest place!

His gaze fell on the woman in his arms. Qin Yue had fainted. Her clothes were soaked through, clinging tightly and revealing the fine contours of her body.

But Ye Qingchen was in no mood to appreciate the view. Instead, a bitter smile touched his lips. I only cooperated with her for a better chance to find the Ironwood Soul Flower for Xiao Xiao. Now it’s brought me nothing but trouble. What a headache!

He took a bottle of First-Grade Rejuvenation Pills—a special gift from the Grand Elder—from his robes and placed one in Qin Yue’s mouth. Since I’ve already saved her, I might as well see it through.

Looking up, Ye Qingchen knew the safest thing would be to return to the convoy; Master Du wouldn’t dare attack them in public. But they were positioned halfway down the waterfall, and with his current abilities, there was no way to climb back up. He had no choice but to give up on the idea.

About an hour later, Qin Yue slowly regained consciousness. When she realized she was hidden behind the waterfall, she looked at Ye Qingchen and smiled gratefully. ”Thank you for what you did! I owe you my life!”

Ye Qingchen smiled back. ”It was no trouble at all. To be honest, I was also acting in my own self-interest. Saving you increased my own chances of survival, didn’t it?”

Qin Yue blinked her beautiful eyes. Once she understood his logic, she couldn’t help but shake her head with a small smile. ”You’re very honest! I like that. I’d like to be your friend.”

Ye Qingchen pursed his lips. ”We’re not out of danger yet. Old Du is still looking for us. We can talk about it after we survive this.”

He was genuinely worried that Old Du would double back after failing to find any trace of them downstream. If they were discovered then, escape would truly be impossible.

Qin Yue also recognized their predicament. She blinked her lovely eyes and thought for a moment, then promptly took off her outer robes. The action revealed her snow-white skin and the silk bodice wrapped tightly around her. An even more provocative scene unfolded before Ye Qingchen’s eyes.

Qin Yue tossed the robes into the waterfall below and said to him, ”Don’t just stand there. Hurry up and take off your clothes!”

”Take off my clothes?” Ye Qingchen was stunned. She took off her own clothes, and now she’s telling me to take off mine? What is she planning?

However, after seeing her actions, he quickly understood. She’s trying to use the clothes being washed downstream to mislead Old Du!

”If we’re going to put on a show, we have to make it convincing! Take your pants off and throw them down, too! Otherwise, I doubt we’ll fool Old Du. That old fox is extremely cunning,” Qin Yue said, pointing at Ye Qingchen’s pants.

”Ah?” Ye Qingchen was dumbfounded. Take off my pants, too? We’re in the Qingyun Mountain Range! Does she expect me to run through the forest bare-assed?

The next moment, his eyes bulged. Right in front of him, Qin Yue took the lead and slipped off her own pants, revealing a pair of long, straight, and fair legs. She tossed them down into the cascade. ”Stop gawking, take them off and throw them! I have spare clothes.”

Qin Yue swiped a finger across a ring she wore, and a set of clothes appeared in her hand as if by magic.

A Storage Ring! Ye Qingchen’s face filled with envy. Storage Rings could hold items, making them incredibly convenient but also extremely expensive. In the entire Ye Family, only the Family Head, Ye Changyun, and the Grand Elder possessed one.

Seeing Qin Yue start to dress, Ye Qingchen no longer hesitated. He took off his pants and threw them down as well. If she has spare clothes, what’s there to hesitate about?

Soon, Ye Qingchen was left in nothing but his underwear, staring expectantly at Qin Yue.

Qin Yue touched her Storage Ring and looked at Ye Qingchen, a hint of embarrassment coloring her fair, pretty face.

”What are you standing there for? Didn’t you say you have spare clothes? Hurry up and give them to me!” Ye Qingchen urged when he saw her hesitating.

”Ahem, alright.” Qin Yue coughed dryly and swiped the Storage Ring again. A set of clothes appeared in her hands, which she handed to Ye Qingchen.

Looking down at the clothes, Ye Qingchen froze. The corner of his mouth couldn’t help but twitch fiercely.

”W-women’s clothes?”

”...”
