Immortality Through Array Formations

Chapter 2268: Chapter 1048: Recruitment (Part 3)

Over time, the situation naturally became very serious.

When Mo Hua and his group reached the Blood Swamp, more than twenty Heavenly Pride Disciples of the Vajra Sect were already locked in a state of fratricide, incessantly fighting each other.

The frenzied disciples slaughtered one another.

The still clear-minded disciples of the Vajra Sect had no choice but to intervene to stop the mad disciples, yet they fell into another form of slaughter.

And amidst the slaughter, their Sea of Consciousness was further invaded by more evil spirits.

In the crowd, the most conspicuous was Shi Tiangang.

He was the Big Senior Brother of the Vajra Sect. At this moment, watching his fellow disciples killing each other, his heart was naturally full of anguish, yet he was powerless. Even he himself was besieged by six or seven demonized Vajra Sect disciples.

But he was indeed the Big Senior Brother of the Vajra Sect, with profound mastery in the Vajra Unbreakable Skill, his body shone with golden light, and he was still struggling to hold on under the siege of six or seven fellow Heavenly Pride disciples.

Moreover, Mo Hua was surprised to find that although Shi Tiangang was also ”soaking” in the Blood Swamp, he was not deeply afflicted by the evil spirits.

It was unclear whether the Vajra Unbreakable Skill was so exquisite that it not only protected the body but also insulated him from some of the evil thoughts.

Or perhaps, as a body refining cultivator, his body had been tempered repeatedly, and his mind was as firm as iron.

Or maybe, this Big Senior Brother of the Vajra Sect himself had a magnanimous heart and a firm Taoist Heart...

In Mo Hua’s heart, a trace of respect involuntarily arose.

Seeing that Shi Tiangang was about to reach his limit, Mo Hua’s eyes gleamed with golden light, casting a gaze over.

Immediately, several frenzied Vajra Sect disciples who caught Mo Hua’s gaze felt intimidated by the Divine Sense and collapsed to the ground.

Meanwhile, Linghu Xiao, Cheng Mo, and Situ Jian also took action together, repelling other Vajra Sect disciples and rescuing Shi Tiangang.

Shi Tiangang appeared pale, just about to express his gratitude when he saw that his rescuer was the ”enemy” Mo Hua and people from the Taixu Gate, causing an extremely complex expression to appear on his face.

Mo Hua did not mince words and went straight to the point:

”If we join forces with other sects, we can get out.”

On Shi Tiangang’s resolute face, a trace of bitterness appeared. Turning his gaze to his fellow disciples engaged in fratricide, his heart wrenched, and he ultimately sighed in agony:

”Alas, I am the Big Senior Brother of the Vajra Sect, and not taking care of my fellow disciples is my dereliction of duty.”

”In this situation, how could I possibly abandon my fellow brothers and escape alone...”

Mo Hua was taken aback, his gaze more appreciative, and he nodded, saying, ”I can help you save them.”

Shi Tiangang’s pupils shook as he looked at Mo Hua in disbelief:

”You...”

”I cannot save them all, but more than half can still be saved,” said Mo Hua. ”But after I rescue them, you all have to follow my orders — at least while we are within this Evil Formation, what I say goes...”

Shi Tiangang took a deep breath and, gritting his teeth, said:

”Alright!”

He held anger and resentment towards Mo Hua.

But compared to the life and death of his fellow disciples, such hatred was insignificant.

Mo Hua nodded and began to take action.

He first gathered the disciples of the Vajra Sect who had not lost their sanity to his side.

Then used the Fireball Technique from a distance to attract the ire of the already demonized Vajra Sect disciples, luring them out of the Blood Swamp.

Next, he used Divine Sense Control Ink to draw the ground into a formation, constructing a prison from earth and wood to restrain these disciples.

Afterward, he executed the Soul-Shocking Sword, launching it out-of-body and piercing their eyes to temporarily intimidate them.

Cheng Mo and other cultivators stepped forward to subdue them, then used some types of lock-like spiritual artifacts to bind them.

Mo Hua then repeated his technique, burning incense to clear the mind, using magic to combat evil, allowing the Sword Bone to penetrate the Sea of Consciousness of the Vajra Sect disciples to cleanse the evil spirits...

After this series of operations, the disciples from the Sever Gold Sect and the Gui Water Sect couldn’t understand it at all, yet they were greatly shaken.

In their eyes, Mo Hua at this moment appeared less like a ”Formation Master” and more like an enigmatic ”Wizard,” exuding a profound and elusive strangeness.

In their hearts, they became more apprehensive towards Mo Hua, and their attitude became more compliant, not daring to dismiss his words casually anymore.

Ultimately, more than twenty disciples of the Vajra Sect survived, leaving eighteen.

Some whose Taoist Heart was not firm, whose killing intent was too heavy, or who were too deeply afflicted by evil spirits did not survive.

This outcome was already much better than anticipated.

In Shi Tiangang’s heart, a trace of gratitude also arose towards Mo Hua.

Of course, this trace of gratitude was mixed with the previous annoyance and resentment towards Mo Hua.

Shi Tiangang felt a myriad of emotions, extremely complex.

Afterward, the group took a brief rest, and Mo Hua began to establish three rules.

The eighteen surviving Heavenly Pride Disciples of the Vajra Sect, led by Big Senior Brother Shi Tiangang, also handed over their formation media and spiritual ink, donning the Divine Formation to temporarily guard in front of Mo Hua and follow his commands.

Mo Hua pinched a Copper Coin, tracing karma, leading the group forward. A vast group marched within the Evil Path Great Formation, exuding an impressive momentum.

Soon, the group encountered the Heavenly Pride Disciples of another sect in a valley.

The Carefree Sect, Feng Zichen.

Feng Zichen was shocked upon seeing Mo Hua’s group, stunned for half a day, unable to react.

At that moment, he almost doubted whether something was wrong with his eyes.

If it wasn’t a problem with his eyes, then surely his mind was infected by evil thoughts, causing hallucinations.

What did he see?

Mo Hua stood in the middle, in front was Shi Tiangang leading eighteen Heavenly Pride from the Vajra Sect;

On the left, Song Jian leading the Sword Cultivators of the Sever Gold Sect;

On the right, Qin Cangliu leading the elites of the Gui Water Sect;

The Heavenly Pride Disciples of the Taixu Gate were in the center, safeguarding Mo Hua.

Feng Zichen felt as if his worldview had collapsed.

The mortal enemies, who fought to death, had actually colluded together?

A mouse being the cat’s bridesmaid?

He couldn’t think of any reason to explain this surreal scene before him.

In fact, Feng Zichen had even begun to suspect that Mo Hua was actually an ”Ancient Demon” reincarnated, adept at manipulating hearts, using demon skills to brainwash Shi Tiangang, Qin Cangliu, and Song Jian, turning these Heavenly Pride into puppets under his control...

Feng Zichen had already started to feel terrified.

At this moment, amidst the stars surrounding the moon, Mo Hua’s gaze was clear as he looked at Feng Zichen, asking:

”Do you want to join us?”

Feng Zichen shivered, nodding obediently:

”Mhm.”
