Immortality Through Array Formations

Chapter 2098  Chapter 995: Ouyang Xuan (Part 3)

”Junior Brother... what is he trying to do?”

”Could it be... heʼs thinking of giving Ouyang Xuan a beating?”

”Can he beat him?”

”Hard to say... it feels a bit difficult, truth be told, this Ouyang Xuan is quite strong...”

”The main thing is, our Junior Brother is a ʼglass cannon,ʼ very low margin for error...”

”Should we go and help? Iʼm afraid Junior Brother might suffer a loss...”

...

While the three were discussing, a terrifying aura suddenly exploded from the small woods, then quickly vanished. The trees showed no abnormalities, but appeared profound and deathly silent, sending shivers through the Divine Soul.

Linghu Xiao and the other two felt a sudden jolt in their hearts, stopping their conversation abruptly, turning to look at the small woods.

Moments later, the woods blurred, and figures appeared, Mo Hua and Ouyang Xuan stepped out.

Mo Huaʼs expression remained normal.

Ouyang Xuan, however, was as pale as a ghost, slightly trembling, as if heʼd seen an apparition, deeply traumatized.

Walking in front of everyone, Mo Huaʼs face blossomed into a warm smile:

”We had a ʼheart-to-heartʼ discussion, and Ouyang realized his previous words were inappropriate, so letʼs just move past this matter.”

”We are all disciples of Taixu Sect, we should unite and work together for the Sectʼs honor, striving for a good rank in the Sword Discussion Conference...”

These words made everyone feel as if spring wind was blowing.

Linghu Xiao and the others wore strange expressions.

Ouyang Xuan, even more pale-faced, couldnʼt utter a single word.

Mo Hua glanced at everyone, smiling:

”Alright, letʼs happily decide on that.”

Afterward, everyone continued to finesse their tactics for the Sword Discussion Conference.

Now Ouyang Xuan had indeed become ʼobedient.ʼ

To the point of being ʼoverly obedientʼ—rather than ʼobedient,ʼ it was more like ʼstunned.ʼ

Whatever Mo Hua said, he followed suit meticulously.

Lingering on his face was still shock, seemingly not yet recovered from the nightmare in the small woods.

Yet, it proved advantageous, as the subsequent practice went exceptionally smoothly.

...

Taiʼa Sect.

The Taiʼa Sect Leader was discussing the matters of the Sword Discussion with a middle-aged elder, chatting away when his brows suddenly furrowed.

”Whatʼs wrong?” the middle-aged elder asked.

The Taiʼa Sect Leader appeared uneasy, ”Do you think Xuan Er will be okay...”

The middle-aged elder, slightly chubby with fair complexion, always seemed to carry a smile, replied, ”What trouble could Mr. Xuan possibly have?”

”The matter of the Sword Discussion.”

”On the Taixu Mountain side?”

”Yes,” the Taiʼa Sect Leader nodded, frowning further, ”I forcibly sent Xuan Er over, if things turn sour, it wonʼt be good.”

The middle-aged elder pondered for a moment, nodded:

”Mr. Xuan has a special status and was raised in front of the ancestor since childhood, with lessons taught personally by the True Transmission Elder, itʼs inevitable he has a reclusive nature. Truth be told, itʼs unlikely there wonʼt be any trouble at all...”

The Taiʼa Sect Leader frowned and sighed: ”I really have no other option...”

”The child... has such high standing, heʼs even a peer to me as Sect Leader, I canʼt scold or beat him.”

”I havenʼt dared to speak about these connections to outsiders.”

”Otherwise, with his status, he canʼt blend with fellow disciples.”

”From top to bottom, thereʼs no elder willing to discipline him, raising his obstinate nature.”

”But now, Iʼve sent him to the Taixu Mountain side, to team up with other disciples for the Sword Discussion...”

The Taiʼa Sect Leaderʼs frown deepened, ”I fear in extreme circumstances, if he ends up fighting and injures Taixu Mountain disciples, it may damage the harmony between the three branches.”

Moreover, with his standing, even if Ouyang Xuan injures Taixu Mountain disciples, he wouldnʼt be able to truly punish him.

Being a Sect Leader is really no easy task.

The middle-aged elder considered briefly, then slowly suggested:

”Why not forget about it? Gather some disciples from Taiʼa Mountain to accompany Mr. Xuan to the Sword Discussion. Just as company, everyone familiarizes with each other, it wouldnʼt turn bad...”

”What kind of etiquette is that?” Taiʼa Sect Leader said sternly, ”Constant pampering like this wonʼt give him any tempered edge, he would truly become a ʼspoiled heirʼ.”

”If he forms his Core and remains this arrogant, he will certainly suffer great losses. Without seeking progress, he would grind to a halt, wasting his superb aptitude.”

The middle-aged elder shook his head and said:

”Then it can only be a slow tempering. If Mr. Xuan really causes trouble, weʼll have Taiʼa step in to apologize and express regret...”

The Taiʼa Sect Leader thought for a moment, could only nod, ”Thatʼs the only way...”

”Letʼs hope over time, Xuan Er can get along with the few disciples at Taixu Mountain...”

Of course, he knew even if they get along, itʼs not something that happens overnight.

With Xuan Erʼs ʼrebelliousʼ nature, respectful to no one, itʼs impossible for him to stay disciplined. Thereʼs no telling how much trouble he will cause...

This matter can only be approached one step at a time.

The Taiʼa Sect Leader sighed.

But two days later, his concerns lingered.

After much hesitation, the Taiʼa Sect Leader still decided to use the Escape Skill and left Taiʼa Mountain for Tai Xu Mountain Gate, entering the practice field to see how this ʼspoiled heirʼ from Taiʼa Sect was adjusting, hoping he wasnʼt being too arrogant and causing trouble.

Upon entering the practice field, the Taiʼa Sect Leader first encountered the Taixu Sect Master.

Both were somewhat surprised.

Yet, considering the importance of the Sword Discussion Conference, it wasnʼt a surprise that they were paying attention.

”Please,” Taixu Sect Master said.

”Thanks for the trouble.”

Attendants provided seats and served tea.

Amidst the fragrant tea, the two Sect Leaders sat in the pavilion drinking tea.

On the practice field, disciples were practicing advancing and attacking, alongside various tactical changes.

The formations were organized, movements uniform.

The Taiʼa Sect Leader originally came for Ouyang Xuan, but upon seeing the scene before him, was momentarily lost, muttering:

”Is this... Taoist Soldiers?”

The Taixu Sect Master said, ”Not quite, itʼs just the disciples practicing more orderly.”

The Taiʼa Sect Leader scrutinized carefully, nodding slightly.

Indeed, itʼs not Taoist Soldiers.

Taoist Soldiers have much stricter formations and more rigorous rules.

Commands and prohibitions allow no errors at all.

Comparatively, the disciples on the practice field were still relatively young, and the formation changes were quite raw.

And currently, only fundamental tactical formations were being practiced, without the accompanying Spiritual Artifacts and Formations, hence cannot compare to ʼTaoist Soldiers.ʼ

But even so, itʼs quite impressive.

This could be the embryonic form of ʼCelestial Taoist Soldiersʼ...
